A very tough one to predict as we still haven't really had a bad game in the league yet. The 1st half of our 1st game Vs Plymouth was the main exception. Going to have to make a change with Green suspended, it will be interesting to see who comes in because non of Ainley, Jones or Finney coveted themselves in glory when they played in the cup. I'd probably personally push Pickering into midfield and bring in young Rio at left back. I'd also be tempted to take Powell and Porter out for Dale and Anene.

I will go for a narrow win Orient 0-1 Crewe (Kirk) 5,566 (220 railwaymen)

I'd like to see Nicky Hunt recalled, replacing Lancashire. On Green, I completely agree with moving Pickering into midfield. I would like to see either Porter or Powell dropped for Dale, maybe give Powell a chance in the middle of the front three?

Score Draw - 1-1

I don't Powell is clinical enough to play through the middle. I'd give Anene a go. He took his goal really well on Saturday.

Keep it simple. Jones or Ainley in for Green, Anene and Dale in for Porter and Powell. Keep the rest the same.

We might rotate one or two in midfield and out wide but it will be more or less the same side as Saturday for us.

Need to do something at home, dropped points against Crawley and Stevenage despite not actually playing too badly.

We looked better without the ball Saturday with a younger more mobile midfield, so far with the ball we've been quite good - We've created chances, just converting them at the right time has been a small issue at home.

Both teams like to concede first - So 0-0 it is then...................

Porter should start, Orient won’t play like Cambridge did. Anene did alright during the spell we were battering Cambridge, but don’t think he’s ready for a start.

1-1.

Shambolic defending from both teams for both goals so far. Also I'm not sure what Powell has to do to score. The ball just won't go in for him this season.

3 pens given away in 3 games is abit worrying (albeit a terrible decision on Saturday) luckily 2 have been saved but I feel were making to many rash challanges we don't need to make.

Get in, we weren't at our best tonight but a great win. We got lucky with the pen save but could have and should have scored when we had one cleared off the line and hit the post within 30 seconds of each other. And Powell also hit the woodwork in the 1st half.

Cruel on Orient to lose so late on though. Up to second now though. Ei ei ei oh

Absolutely delighted with that. The performance was a long way short of our best but the players kept going and we actually created a decent amount of good chances despite not playing very well. Really happy for James Jones - he played reasonably well tonight and I hope that goal will be a real boost for him.

Same old story for us, played fairly well with the ball and caused Crewe plenty of problems, but without it our structure isn't very good and we always concede chances. Even if we'd scored the penalty we'd have almost certainly conceded again anyway, we just don't manage games well enough and need to be scoring at least two to even have a hope of getting anything.

The last 15mins we didn't put anywhere near enough pressure on the ball in midfield, Clay was brought on to do that but sat deep with everyone else. Crewe should really have scored their second earlier, we made alot of tired errors towards the end.

First half both teams gifted each other their goals in the first half I thought, no idea why the Crewe player played the ball straight to Maguire-Drew under no pressure.

I can't see Ross Embleton lasting sadly, we are just too easy to get at. Last season we won the league with a solid structure first and foremost and whoever leads us forward needs to get that back or we're going to be in for a long, long season. Even longer if Lee Angol is out for a sustained period now.

First half we bossed the game. Orient pressed us very well I thought but lacked any quality on the ball. We then gave them an absolute gift of an equaliser and the game started to turn.

Orient then bossed most of the second half. Our centre halves tonight (Nolan's goal apart) were absolutely appalling and did their best to lose us that game. Orient had no end product and barely troubled Will Jaaskelainen from open play. Happy for Will to get a penalty save just like Trig did against Grimsby, but we have got to be better at the back if we want to stay a Top 3 side this season. Sides like Cheltenham, Exeter and Swindon will really punish us when we play them soon if we fail to improve.

Well done to James Jones. Fantastic performance tonight and he deserved that goal. Very happy for him that he took his chance at the death. It's about time we started punishing our opponents for making defensive errors because we're gift wrapping goals left right and centre this season. Two to Plymouth on opening day, one to Crawley, one to Newport, two to Cambridge and one tonight. It really isn't good enough. But we deserved that for the injustice of losing in the last minute to Newport and for being screwed over by David Rock on Saturday. Now let's hope we continue our run against Salford on Saturday!

4th away win in 5 games is impressive. We only got 4 away wins throughout the whole of last season.

Also still no draw since mid march. Must be about 17/18 games now.

On the train back north and reflecting on a cracking result. Harsh on Orient. The injury to Angol was probably pivotal as our defence was creaking throughout but without his presence Orient could only make it count when we gifted them an opportunity. I thought Orient played some decent football and pressed our midfield for large parts of the game which effected the quality of our football. Cracking save to deny Porter later on in the second half and Powell really needs to score as that’s now this game and Grimsby where he is being described as ‘unlucky’. Dales pace and energy made the difference for the late winner which was well taken by James who had a pretty decent game. I can understand the Orient fans will be disappointed after another defeat to a late goal but based on what I saw today I would say they are a solid mid table side. It’s certainly great to have them back in the league as it’s quality away day.

Remarkable really, so far though we haven’t looked as good at home.

First game of the season and played the side with the 2nd best away form in the league for our two defeats so it's difficult to tell at the moment. I'm sure the home form will improve, hopefully starting Saturday.

Have to hand it to Will Jaaskelainen, he's improving fast. Was highly sceptical of him from last season into this but he did well last night, glimpses of him commanding the area and a very good penalty save. As mentioned above, the centre backs in front of him are probably the weak links of the team at the moment. Not sure how that can be rectified without bringing someone new in.

I thought Nolan & Hunt always looked a steady partnership when they played together last season and dropping Lancashire was justified after Saturday. It's weird because Nolan has always been consistent but has looked very shakey at times this season but has already popped up with a couple of goals, and by all accounts got an assist last night.

BTW, who was the commentator for Radio Stoke last night? He had an absolute mare. Started off the match mixing the teams up completely, bemusing Pete Morse, and never got to grips with player names. When you make McGarry sound good you’ve had a bad day’s work.

His name is Dominic Dietrich. I've never encountered him before but he kept mixing up player names and was absolutely obsessed with the fact that one of the Orient players is the brother of some reality TV halfwit.

It was the first couple of minutes where he was calling our first attack as an Orient attack and all the Crewe players by Orient's players names till Morse corrected him. It was excruciating.

Give the lad a break, was his first go as opposed to McGarry doing it for decades and still calling us Crewe Alexander.

Thought he did fine personally, and he mentioned the TOWIE thing once so let’s not exaggerate.

The Cambridge thing is a fluke. 3 of their wins have come against teams with 10 men, including the wins on Saturday and last night. Sure, you can only beat whats put in front of you, but that isn't sustainable long term.

Repeating what has been said, delighted with the win. Says a lot that this was deemed out worst performance of the season, when last season that would have been a respectable effort. Shows how quickly the standard has been raised.

Nobody can make McGarry sound good. He does the same thing, getting players names totally wrong. He constantly throws commentary over to Morse because he can't think of anything to say. He always calls out the wrong thing, shouting goal when it's a goal kick or claiming it's a corner when it's not.

He does all this amateurish back of a fag packet research and never uses any of it. He is too old, he doesn't have the mental processing speed to keep up with a free flowing game. The guy needed to be put out to pasture years ago, yet Radio Sjoke keep him on for....reasons.

When I tuned in, they were already talking about it and they continued to do so for at least 2 minutes. And then he mentioned it again only a few minutes later.

On the whole, I would agree that he was mostly fine.

You probably tuned in at that one point then. Admittedly I wasn’t thoroughly listening for most of the first half cos why bother, game comes alive in the second for us these days.

It’s mad listening to McGarry for away games. He’ll have you thinking the games about 10-5, I do like the bloke though but that’s probably because I’m used to him.. will be sad to see him go, can’t have long left surely?

I watched him when he was on loan at Buxton in January 2018, they lost 3-0 at Farsley Celtic and he was a bag of nerves, come a long way since then!
