Of the players out of contract at other clubs we'd maybe have a genuine shot at signing I'd quite like Farman and Baker-Richardson. I'd take a punt on Crankshaw too if Stockport are getting rid.

Out of contract players:

Joe Murphy: Keep as goalkeeping coach
Mat Hewelt: Undecided see how he does but not good enough for main keeper

Josh Dacres-Cogley Won't be staying
Tom Davies Keep
Kyle Jameson Release
Max Fisher: Youngster never seen play Release

Chris Merrie: Keep if he'll stay
Jon Nolan: Release
Ryan Stratulis Youngster who did well at Connah's Quay before injury. Undecided
Arthur Lomax: Youngster on loan at Bootle. Promising worth another year
Jack Williams: Youngster Release
Florent Hoti Young midfielder signed a few weeks ago. No idea

Joel Mumbongo: Inclining to release but see if he surprises
Jake Burton: Ditto
Sam Taylor: Youngster, did ok in pre-season Worth another year.

On loan:
Luke Robinson Wigan Injured since September, unsure he's still around
Logan Chalmers Dundee United Disappointing loan to buy suggested but I wouldn't pursue
Jay Turner-Cooke Newcastle Will be going back
Regan Hendry FGR Best of the loanees, would sign if available.

Currently have 13 others contracted for next season. It's likely there will be offers for the likes of Bristow, O'Connor Turnbull and Hawkes, while we might offload a few. Reasonably solid in midfield but defence and attack require bolstering.

Loan Expiries:
Wright-Phillips - Barely played, not sure if he's been injured but not forced his way into a injury riddled team.
Marc Leonard - Regular First-time player, will need replacing. Brighton have enough resources to keep him and continue to loan him for a while I'd have thought.
Tete Yengi - Bit part-player. Not quite as good at the moment as those in front of him, imagine he'll just return to Ipswich.
Josh Eppiah - Oh Josh. If you could play more than 5 games a season you could be one of the best players in this leage. He's OOC I believe at the end of the year, if anyone has a truly magic physio and a large wage packet to cover his Premiership wages you'd have a real gem, but I do worry that his chronic injuries mean his career will be over before it starts.
Kieron Bowie - Our most important loanee. Would move the sun and the starts to get him, but I don't think there's any chance, Fulham will have bigger plans.

Out of Contract

Josh Harrop - Random gamble in December as a free-agent. Not been fit enough to play a single game. Will be gone.
Paul Osew - Like David below, brought in as a free-agent a few weeks ago to cover the injury crisis. Done ok when asked, but not really played enough to have a judgement.
David Norman Jr- As above, but hasn't got into the pitch yet. Only been here a week.
Ali Koiki - The only first-teamer out of contract we want to keep and have been working on all year. As he hasn't signed, imagine he has interest from clubs with bigger wage packets, so wouldn't be surprised if he's gone end of the year.
Jonny Maxted - Been a back-up GK, and has spent a decent amount of time out due to personal issues which required us to bring a third keeper in. Very likely to be released.
Max Dyche - I thought he signed a contract, but can't find anything on the news now. A propsect on his 1st terms, he's playing half a dozen times and will be offered something

Honestly, we've been so pro-active on contracts it's astonishing. The key players are all on long contracts, Guthrie until 2025, Pinnock until 2025, Sowerby until 2025, Hoskins until 2024, McWilliams until 2024, Appere until 2024.

At most we could lose one permanent first-teamer, and the biggest loss would be the return of Leonard and Bowie on loan to the parent clubs. Plus knocking back Wrexham from a Guthre bid last summer suggets we're unlikely to cash in on any first bids. Swings and round-abouts though, because the squad is deep but without any real bright stars, and not a lot of spaces to improve should we go up.

Out of Contract:
Ben Hinchliffe
- Keep as back up. Still think we can have a better number 1 at this level despite how good he has been for us though
Ryan Johnson - Probably release actually if we want to move forward.
Chris Hussey- Been pretty solid. Maybe get a year but age counts against him. Again wouldn't surprise me if he's not done enough
Phil Bardsley- Release. Doesn't even play for money and well, doesn't even play. Played about 3 games, been injured since early Jan, knees have gone. Not even a discussion really.
Neill Byrne- I'd keep him as back up if we stick with a back three. Plays CB and RCB at a consistent level and has stood in admirably throughout Horsfall's injuries.
Jacob Davenport- Signed a short term deal until the end of the season a few weeks back, local lad but hasn' stamped his authority on anything yet and has a long history of injuries. Release.

Loan Players:
Vit Jaros-
Had high hopes for him but form was poor with him in the side, he got injured and our form and defence has been better with Hinchliffe so he's never got back in. He's obviously not done enough to be the upgrade on Hinchliffe I think we need so- Send back
Joe Grayson- Signed last day of Jan Transfer window, literally hasn't kicked a ball for us yet so can't impress much in training. Send back.
Aaron Rowe- Signed last day of Jan Transfer window, has barely kicked a ball for us yet so can't impress much in training. Send back.

Under Contract:
Macauley Southam-Hales - Keep but his injuries are just constant now. So hopefully he can just get back up to speed to be decent back up and competition for Knoyle
Antoni Sarcevic - Could be time to part ways if we can, big part of us going up but we need to go up another gear in that number 10 role and he could be the victim.
Ryan Rydel - Keep
Paddy Madden- Keep
Ryan Croasdale- Keep but I think we could do with another 6 as competition to try and improve on the ball in that area. Been brilliant for us though, his replacement would have to be good as whenever Croasdale doesn't play we don't half miss him
Myles Hippolyte- Keep
Akil Wright - Keep
Kyle Wootton - Keep
Will Collar - Keep (if we can- if someone comes in with a good offer from the Championship which is mooted- then fair doos let him go- don't like standing in players way if the money's right)
Fraser Horsfall - Keep
Callum Camps - Keep. Needs to do more though.
Kyle Knoyle - Keep
Isaac Olaofe - Only just signed, not hit the ground running but needs a full season at least.
Jack Stretton - Only just signed, not hit the ground running but needs a full season at least.
Connor Evans- Doesn't really look at it at this level, probably loan him out, only just recalled from Notts because of injuries.
Joe Lewis- Loan him out, looks shaky at this level, wouldn't be against selling him, I don't see much of a player there despite still being pretty young and raw as a defender.

Scott Quigley, Ethan Ross and Ben Barclay are loaned out and still have contracts. Don't see a future for any of them, we'll offload again is some capacity. Ollie Crankshaw possibly the same although half a chance of a pre-season reprieve if we change systems, he doesn't suit our wing back style.

Ethan Pye and Cody Johnson are young players out on loan who have a lot of promise. Could see them in our fold but more loan opportunities for their development more likely.

We need a GK, LCB, CM and AM in the summer which would give us roughly
GK/Hinchliffe
Wright/Horsfall/LCB/Byrne/Hussey or Pye
Knoyle/MSH/Rydel
CM/Collar/AM/Croasdale/Camps/Hippolyte
Madden/Wootton/Olaofe/Stretton

Few gaps there so may lead to not as high turnover as I suggest or more incomings.
Pretty much agree with all of that though I’m a definite release on Hussey and would also look to sell/loan out Camps.

I do feel like we should give Olaofe more of a chance but at the same time with Paddy now in his twilight years and Stretton only 21 there is a lot of pressure on him to produce and he’s looked nowhere near good enough so far. If Gillingham are still interested I’d try and get as much money back as I could while we can now I think.

If we got promoted then Hippolyte and MSH could probably go as well.

I do wonder if we’ll look to change formation to a 4231/433 in the off season and say bye to the 352 that’s served us well but ultimately makes us look quite limited as an attacking team.

His loan spell at Motherwell had gone so poorly that despite being registered with them until the end of the season he’s back training with us.

I’d keep Warren - he’s had enough good games to show that he’s got something, but felt he was hung out to dry a bit in a back four with no cover. He’s a wing back through and through, and would pick him every time in a back five.

We still need a third keeper so Maloney seems a decent player in that role, and Neal looks like he will be released so we’ll probably try and sign him - personally I think we could do better.

Not long now til talk of Quigley returning begins.

…and just like that, some daft twat starts a “we should sign Quigley” thread on our forum.

Goalkeepers:

James Beadle:
Promising young loanee from Brighton. Believe we're interested in bringing him back for the full season next year. Could easily play in League One he's that good. If we pulled off that signing, it'd be amazing.

Dave Richards; Think he's under contract beyond this season but heard on the grapevine the plan is to get rid. Not good enough for this level, the one below and probably the one below that. Should've released him 6 years ago in all seriousness. Only lasted this long because he was happy to be on cheap wages. Will end up back in South Wales playing Welsh Premier League football or turning out for Merthyr Town I'd imagine.

Tom Booth: Promising young keeper whose had spells out on loan at Nantwich. Looks like he's set to be our No. 2 from next season which I'm happy with.

Defenders:

Kelvin Mellor:
Exceeded my expectations this season given he's been largely competent despite me wishing we hadn't signed him. I'm more cut-throat compared to most so I'd still release him but I realistically expect him to be given another year on reduced wages and I'm 99.9% certain he'll stay. Definitely need an improvement at RB for next season and we'll probably bring one in on loan.

Rio Adebisi: One year left on his contract so he's going nowhere. Been dreadful this season after spending most of last season out injured. We have to make an experienced LB a priority signing next season because Adebisi is a liability at the back and we can't rely on him at all.

Zac Williams: One year left on his deal and he'll probably be offered a new deal early next season. Been a disastrous season. Playing him at LB never worked. His temperament when fit was poor and he looked like a walking red card during certain games. Attitude stunk when Morris was in charge but has improved under Bell. Had a rough season with injury which is a shame and going forward I expect him to be playing CB, freeing up space for a signing to come in at LB.

Rod McDonald: Been a very good signing for us despite missing a few games due to a series of minor injuries. Out of contract in the Summer and believe we've offered him a fresh one year deal. I'd be happy for us to keep him but less sure about him staying as I believe another club have offered him a deal for next season and it may come down to money rather than game time with someone in the latter stages of their career like Rod.

Luke Offord: Never rated him as highly as most our fanbase do. Has an absolute clanger in him and this is certainly his level after a disastrous season in League One last year. Plays excellently alongside a senior defender but when he's the senior defender it's chaos and we've regularly been on the end of some thumpings with him being our most senior voice at the back. Certainly not captain material either. We have a one year option on his contract which I expect us to activate but if a club offers us £250K-£300K for him as compensation, which is a realistic price given how long we've had him through the ranks, then I'd gladly take the money and reinvest it in key areas that need strengthening.

Connor O'Riordan: Been a revelation since his return from Raith Rovers in the Winter. Daft red card vs Rochdale aside, he's done very little wrong and is even a threat from attacking set pieces. This boy will go far in the game if we keep him fit (he went off injured vs Colchester on Monday and we collapsed which says it all). Two years left on his deal and will be our future captain unless he becomes too good too quickly which will lead to us getting a big fee for his services.

Billy Sass-Davies: On loan at Woking. Not good enough for this level which is a shame as he's a lovely lad and got the physical attributes to have a good career in the game. He just doesn't seem to be all there technically. Darren Sarll seems to rate him as he had him on loan from us when Sarll was managing Yeovil. Will almost certainly be transfer listed and wouldn't surprise me if he ends up at Woking next season on a permanent basis or a season long loan at the very least.

Sean Robertson: Uneventful loan spell for Robertson who couldn't even make that awful Forest Green side that's a certainty to be playing L2 football next season. Clearly signed for depth and will go back there.

Sean Lawton: First year pro. Spent most the season on loan at Nantwich and then we recalled him and sent him up a league to Hereford. I don't know how he's getting on there but I'm sure he's in line for another deal if he's progressing like he is and could possibly be in the first team picture next season if he stays fit.

Lewis Billington: First year pro. Made his debut the day we were relegated at Doncaster last season and wasn't too bad. Been on loan at Leek and Nantwich this season so definitely behind Lawton in the pecking order. I expect him to get another year but he'll probably be loaned out to the 6th or 7th tier.

Midfielders:

Conor Thomas:
On the whole, an underwhelming signing. Started off as the best player on the park when we played away at Rochdale on the opening day. Stunk the gaff out during mid-season but has come back looking competent since he had a spell on the sidelines. We were told he was a penalty specialist but he missed his only penalty for us and hasn't taken another since. He's played more football than in most seasons though and maybe that's why he was flagging for most the season. Will be here next season regardless and I'm just hoping for an improvement in his performances as a result.

Callum Ainley: Believe we've offered him a new one year deal on reduced terms compared to his last 2 year deal. I hope it's just a token offer. The lad needs a fresh start and we really should've grown a pair and got rid. Always goes missing with injury for a third of a season and only turns up at the start or end of a season. Went on a run of 1 league goal in 37 months which for an attacking midfielder is a disaster. Just hope another club offer him bigger wages and a 2 year deal. It's what he needs if he really wants to rescue his stagnant career.

Regan Griffiths: Get rid. Waste of space. Only here because of Artell's obsession with Scousers. Rejected a move to Altrincham 12 months ago as he'd signed a one year extension to his contract just before Artell was sacked. Not in the first team picture for next season so he'll be transfer listed and he should definitely find another club, though I expect him to rot and pick up a wage here until May 2024.

Charlie Colkett: Has the potential to be the best player at the club. The problem is, he just can't stay fit. I like him a lot and I'm just hoping a solid pre-season will allow him to get fit and produce the goods for us next season. But I'm not optimistic. That fitness record is appalling. One year left on his deal so he's here regardless.

Ryan Finnigan: A loanee from Southampton who improved the team once he was thrown into it. A big shame about his injury just as he was settling into the side. Someone I wouldn't mind back for next season as he did show initial promise and I'm sure he's not ready for League One yet.

Tariq Uwakwe: A frustrating player as, 18 months after signing him, we don't know his best position nor have we seen him put a string of good performances together for us in League Two. Will almost certainly be let go. A signing that looked great on paper but sadly has been underwhelming on the whole.

Joel Tabiner: Been improving steadily as the season has progressed. Got his first goal for the club and is becoming a regular. It's been a successful season for Joel and I'm expecting him to be offered an improved 2 or 3 year contract in the Summer which he'll absolutely sign. Could be a key player for us next season. I'd rather put all our energy into him now than persevere with Ainley that's for sure.

Matus Holicek: Young Slovakian lad who is definitely here for 2 more years and we have the club option to extend that to 2027. Has started breaking into the side but next year will certainly be his year to become a regular. That said, I wish Bell had given him more minutes this season to really blood him in to the side.

Charlie Finney: Currently on loan at Chorley and broke into the side earlier in the season where he looked promising before his injury. I could see him being involved with the first team next season if he stays fit.

Wingers/Forwards

Chris Long:
Believe the club have offered him a heavily incentivised new one year deal owing to the fact he's missed most the season through injury. He's a League One standard striker when fit but he's made of glass unfortunately. Think some of our fans were bang out of order questioning his commitment towards the club when he was genuinely injured. I'd release him and bring in someone else who will feature more often although we won't bring anyone with his quality into the club. Can see him ending up at Tranmere, maybe even Wrexham or Stockport as a squad player.

Courtney Baker-Richardson: Signed a two year deal in the Summer so he'll be here next season. Been one of our best players despite spending almost half the season injured. He's a real leader and, to me, the true captain of this football club. He improves us massively when he's in the side. Had he been fit for the full season, we wouldn't have been anywhere near the bottom third of the table. Keep him fit and he'll deliver for us next season.

Dan Agyei: Our top scorer with 14 goals in the league this term. 6 of these were penalties. No chance of keeping him and believe he's already agreed a deal with another club. Don't think he's as good as the goal tally suggests but he's not been bad for us at all. Will depart with my best wishes.

Lachlan Brook: Young Australian winger on loan from Brentford. Looked promising when he first started but then got injured. Been wildly inconsistent since and wouldn't have him back next year. Expect him to go back to Australia soon anyway.

Bassala Sambou: The worst signing this club has made in years. A total disaster. Artell deserved the sack just for thinking he'd be a good signing. On £2K a week, 0 goals for us in the league in 27 appearances this season speaks for itself and that's why we've loaned him out to Oldham. Will never play in the EFL again and should consider an alternative career unless someone in non-league is made enough to sign him.

Elliott Nevitt: Signed when we desperately needed a striker. Yet to get off the mark for us but he's grafted and got into positions and been incredibly unlucky in front of goal. Has been a nuisance to deal with at times but you just feel he's never going to score for us given how bad his luck is out. It's completely different to Sambou who got into positions then did something ridiculous 99 times out of 100. Will be a squad player next season but he'll definitely have a role to play at the club next season.

David Amoo: Featured 3 times and got injured. A waste of time and a stupid signing as I said at the time given he's a crock. Get him released.

Connor Evans: Two years left on his contract so time's on his side. Played for Marine and Nantwich this season and is coming off the back of a bad injury. Don't think he'll be anywhere near the first team next season so he should use that year to have a good preseason and get a loan spell in the 6th or 7th tier again.

So we need a GK if we don't sign Beadle, a RB, a starting LB, a new CM, at least 2 wingers and a new striker next season. Not as big a rebuild as the last two seasons, but still one we really can't afford to mess up.

Timmy Abraham - release waste of a wage.
Peter Clarke - Done at this level too old now release
Manny Monthe-Been good again keep if he wants to stay.
Hayden White-Keep if he's going to be used in a back 3 if not release

Jacob Maddox-Keep has quality needs to be more consistent.
Connor Wilkinson - our Highest earner apparently been out most of the season Keep on a short term deal with an option.
Liam Kinsella-been here years always gives his all but hasn't been as good this season maybe time for him to move on Release.
Oisin Mcentee - Another one injured for some time looking much better recently so I'd say Keep still a young lad.
Joss labadie been out all season until recently would still keep for pain in the arse value if he proves his worth from now until the end of the season 1 year deal for me.

Loan signings
Matty Stevens - send back looks like he can't run anymore or was he always slow?
Joe Low- send back complete carthorse
Robbie Wilmot-Send back another that
looks past his best when he has played
Songo absolute tat no thanks looks more like an NFL player send back.

Players under contract
Owen Evans-Keep been good enough this season
Liam Gordon-Keep as a back up
Donervan Daniels - player of the season been outstanding 100% Keep
Isaac Hutchinson-Already signed an extension recently 7 goals and 7 assists in this team is decent and still a young lad.
Joe Riley-Keep been injured most of the season but looks like he has something since he's been back.
Brandon Comley-Biggest surprise 3 months ago I would have said get rid but he's been excellent in the last 10 games Keep.
Jamille Matt-Keep been a bit stop start so far Flynn said he needs a pre season I agree he's proven at this level.
Tommy Knowles-Keep never stops running and chips in with the odd goal and assist another young lad who will improve his long throws are shite though lol.
Edit
Forgot Andy Williams he's out of contract best days well behind him at 36 100% Release.
Brendan Kiernan out of contract be gone Flynn doesn't fancy him
Rollin Menayase- under contract another Flynn doesn't fancy if anyone wants him he'll be gone I'd be tempted to keep him as back up.

I've been critical of him at times but I've come round to it having watched plenty of games at this level that he's a decent League Two keeper and he's more than adequate for us.

He's a steady Eddie L2 keeper, said further up the thread that I'd have had him here for sure.

May as well do ours, seeing as I think one or two of our squad will be picked up by clubs here for next season:

Our of Contract this summer:

Lawrence Vigouroux (GK) KEEP - He's not missed a game for 3 seasons, been our POTY for 2 seasons and has been immense for us, broke clubs clean sheet record for a season. Vital we keep him, but he's very likely to play higher for a much bigger club next season.

Sam Sargeant (GK) - RELEASE - Been backup keeper for 6 years now, likely to be moved on.

Rhys Byrne (GK) - KEEP - Third choice keeper, very young, played a few games. 50/50 on what will happen with him, but I'd keep him.

Omar Beckles (CB) - KEEP - Been decent for us for the last 2 seasons and big reason why we've kept so many clean sheets.

Dan Happe (CB) - KEEP - Was excellent alongside Omar Beckles for the first half of the season, before picking up a season ending injury in January for the second January in a row. I'd keep him.

Jayden Sweeney (LB) - KEEP - What an improvement under Wellens, come on leaps and bounds after looking for so long that he wasn't up to first team football, up for young player of year award in League Two.

Connor Wood (LB) - RELEASE - Been on loan at Colchester since January, will be picked up by a club in League Two.

Craig Clay (CM) - RELEASE - Been here 6 seasons now, with a heavy heart I'd release him. Not played as many games this season and more of a squad player, but a very good squad player. Not got the technical ability or pace to play higher and 31 now. Will be a good signing for a club here.

Jordan Brown (CM/RB) - KEEP - Has alot of potential, quick and can fit into the style Wellens likes to play. Can also fill in at RB if needed.

Jordan Lyden (CM) - RELEASE - Brought in by Wellens to cover injuries, wasn't really fit, did a job in places, looked out of place at times in games due to lack of fitness, got injured again and out for 6 weeks. Probably end up in Non League due constant injuries.

Darren Pratley (CM) - KEEP - Captain, still a decent enough player if managed correctly. 50/50 on whether he could do another year in League One. I'd keep him as a squad player if budget allows. But this could go either way.

Matt Young (CM) - RELEASE - Youngster who played a few games, but unable to break into first team, been on loan in non league.

Anthony Georgiou (CM) - RELEASE - Played one cup game, got injured, went on loan to Yeovil, got injured again and has basically not played.

Paul Smyth (FW) - KEEP - One of our best players, gets you off your seat, beats his man alot and gives defenders nightmares. Only reason he's playing for us is because he's made of glass and gets injured alot, Wellens has managed him well. Will almost certainly be picked up by one of League Ones big clubs at the very least.

Harry Smith (ST) - RELEASE - Didn't fit Wellens style of play. Did score 15 goals for us last season though and went on loan to Barnet and scored 9 goals for them. Will be a useful signing for someone in this league. Has to stay South though and apparently his gambling issues have come back again.

Expiring Loans:

Idris El-Mizouni (CM) - No Chance of us keeping him, on a long term deal at Ipswich and they will be silly not use him next season whatever league they're in. IMO our POTY.

Ed Turns (CB) - No chance of us keeping him either. Ball playing CB who will be on loan in the Championship or playing in Brightons first team.

Jamie McCart (CB) - Brought in as CB Cover in Jan, got injured anyway and has only just come back. Has settled down since coming back after a poor start. Will go back to Rotherham who will likely move him on.

Stephen Duke-McKenna (FW) - Injuries have ruined his season, filled in where needed to be fair to him but will likely be released by QPR or back in League Two somewhere on loan.

Kieran Sadlier (FW) - Good player, but a bit of a luxury. Can see why Evatt at Bolton signed him AND got rid of him to us. Useful attacking player, capable of winning games, but his defensive work off the ball isn't great, doesn't always track back, doesn't really tackle or win any headers or second balls. I wouldn't sign him pernamently unless it was a last resort.

Charlie Kelman (ST) - On a long term deal at QPR, has his uses but not a clinical finisher - only 5 goals for us. Fits into Wellens style well though as he has good technical ability and can run and press all day long. Might do better playing in a front 2 as opposed to being a lone striker. Would expect QPR to use him if in League One next season.

Players Under Contract for next season:

Tom James (RB)
Rob Hunt (RB/LB)
Adam Thompson (CB)
Ethan Light (CB)
Shad Ogie (CB)
George Moncur (CM)
Ruel Sotiriou (FW)
Theo Archibald (FW)
Aaron Drinan (ST)

Will be interesting to see who we manage to keep hold of. Agree with your assessment, although unsure of Pratley, he's 38 now. I think Vigs and Smyth will probably try their luck higher up, Smyth certainly has the talent and skill, just a glass body.

Idris is player of the season for me too, but who knows what will happen if Ipswich go up. They'll be very happy with the way we have helped develop him this season and may feel we can develop him further in League One. He's still only 22.

I was looking who is out of contract at Crawley and there ain't many.

Tsaroulla. Left back. We have an option for another season and we would be daft not to take it. If nothing else we would get some money when somebody buys him. Our best player.

Ransom. Strong centre back who plays when everyone else is injured. I do think he is OK and still quite young.

Francillette. Tall gangly centre back. We signed him from academy football and he has played a lot over the last two seasons.

Jake Hessenthaler. We have a one year option but he is one of the players that Wagmi has said will never play for the club after things were "discovered" during the investigations into John Yems (along with Craig, Francomb and, I think, Nichols)

Anthony Grant, been coming on as a sub to shore up midfield. I'm not sure how fit he is but he has done that job well.

Jordan Mutch. His arrival was the catalyst for us to turn relegation into survival. I doubt we could afford him and he will probably end up at a league 1 club.

This does mean we are stuck with a squad of players that managed to get us to the dizzy heights of 22nd. We need a back to goal forward and a box to box midfielder but we've been needing that for ages so I'm not holding my breath.

Another season of struggle for us if nothing changes.

Here we go the Carlisle United list, a lot depending on the playoffs.

Out of contract

Jon Mellish
- One of our most important players, never seen an overlapping centre-back quite like him and he's scored six this season. We have an option of another year. Keep

Jordan Gibson
- Criminally underrated IMO, works hard lets his head drop sometimes but has the potential to improve even further under Simmo just needs to nail down a position in the side. Keep

Morgan Feeney
- Club captain, his injury is probably why we haven't pushed the automatic spots right to the end, an imperious defender who will only get better. Think he'll be off if we don't go up. Keep

Kristian Dennis
- Great poacher, fantastic first touch, 20 league goals this season but does he do enough off the ball? Maybe not his game and his centre-forward partners have been out of sorts. If we're in league two then keep but not sure he'll make the step up to league one.

Corey Whelan- Reliable and seems to be well-liked in the squad but can't see him settling for a squad role at his age and lacks the pace to be playing for a top end league two/league one side, Simmo wanted to let him go in January Release

Brennan Dickenson
- Probably one of the biggest disappointments in a long time and not really his fault, his injuries have ruined any chances of him making a mark and even so I don't think he's near the player he was who set the league alight at ColU. Release

Omari Patrick
- When he's on it there's few better running at pace in the league and his finishing has improved but struggles against packed defences. Really needs to find some form. Keep

Jack Ellis
- Only 19 but plays like a seasoned pro, he's the long-term future of the defence right side, get him on a long-term contract with a big release clause. Keep

Jamie Devitt
- Heartbreaking to see him limp off on Saturday, his body has unfortunately given up and I can see him retiring, what a player he's been but times up. Can see him staying as a coach or something similar. Release

Tobi Sho-Silva
- Scored some memorable important goals and is a fantastic guy but realistically never good enough to start games for us. Hope he gets a decent club down south. Release

Joel Senior
- Had real potential before his ACL injury on Salford's dangerous pitch last season, doesn't look quite as sharp as he was when he first signed and looks scared in 50/50s definitely something psychological there. Feel really sorry for the lad. Release

Taylor Charters
- Had a few bad injuries but when he's played, he's been very good and scored a screamer at Harrogate. Thought his professional career may be in doubt at the start of the season but now looks like he has a big future. Keep

Sam Fishburn
- Been out on loan at Morpeth and others but clearly has attitude problems and has gotten on the wrong side of Simmo too often. A wasted talent. Release

Michael Kelly
- Thought he was solid enough in the Pizza cup but clearly not rated or pushing Holy enough. Release

Josh Dixon
- Tricky one, had numerous horrible injuries which stunted his development, clearly very talented from brief appearances. Give him a chance to prove his fitness

Gabriel Breeze
- Promising young keeper, good size, loan out next season Keep

Scott Simons
- Had a bad injury but same applies as above Keep

Only under contract player I can see leaving is Jayden Harris who has failed to make an impact and possibly Moxon if an a big offer comes in.

We’ve signed up the majority of those we want to keep, Glenn Morris, Max Ehmer, Cheye Alexander, Shaun Williams and Robbie McKenzie. Waiting on Alex MacDonald.

Adding to those we signed in January and those not out of contract the majority of next seasons squad is already in place.

Agree with most of this, just one point (and it's a good thing):

Jack Ellis has one more year to go on his contract.

heres ours, Foster is likely going to be the only one to be offered a contract, unless he flat out refuses and retires again, in which case we may offer Howard a back up role. the rest are NL quality and would walk into most teams down there

With regards to youth, there are a few good prospects and i expect some to be kept on for the reserves games, but most will be let go.

Foster, Ben - Out of contract
Howard, Mark - Out of contract
Lennon, Harry - Out of contract, but 1 yr option could be exercised
Hall-Johnson, Reece - Out of contract
Hyde, Jake - Out of contract
McAlinden, Liam - Out of contract
Watson, Rory - Out of contract
Calderbank-Park, Kai - Out of contract

Youth
Davies, Dan - Out of contract
Dijksteel, Malik - Out of contract
Evans, Kai - Out of contract
James, Aaron - Out of contract
Jenkins, Tom - Out of contract
Jones, Dan - Out of contract
Lloyd, Louis - Out of contract
Mountfield, Will - Out of contract
Butler, Scott - Out of contract, but 1 yr option could be exercised
Austin, Ryan - Out of contract

Ah didn't spot that, cheers MM, could do with tying him down for longer..
The lad has a bright future if he can stay clear of injury, would love to see him sign long term. Could be that he's remained slightly under the radar this year due to competition from Fin Back at the start of the season (and the dreaded hamstring injuries after that).

So we have no contracted goalkeeper for next season however none of the 3 out of contract are good enough.
We have 16 contracted players although 2 are youth and can see them being moved on along with Griffiths. Taylor is likely to have his contract paid up as he can’t regain fitness. I’ve no clue as to how Anderson was offered a new contract given his injury problems. It will be interesting to see who the new man in charge brings in with the extra funds our owner is going to give to support him. The remaining players will all have a losing mentality given the last 2 1/2 seasons so he’s got a job on his hands

What's Aidan Barlow like? Looked fairly handy in the first half vs us the other week at your place, but I gather that banger he scored was a bit out of character?

To be honest he’s never really had a chance until recently so it’s hard to say
