That result could change this entire season for the top 7, suddenly it's an open game

I am glad that us Oxford fans no longer have to deal with the nonsense claims about other players being the best in the division.

Oxford to win 3-0, Bristol Rovers fans to enjoy their big day out, most of them will probably start supporting us after Sunday.

I pretty much object to Oxford having to play small time teams who aren't even close to being the biggest team in their own grim city.
Hopefully fatigue doesn't set in and Oxford claim their rightful 2-0 win.

Pleased Bristol won even though they are now above us its taken stopped Oxfords streak. Still alot more worried about Oxford over the rest of the season than Bristol.

Great win, dodgy penalty (not that I give a shit) Taylor was a menace all game and should have had a hat trick not that it matters now. Brilliant day out with some old friends and a fucking fantastic result. U.T.G

Defensively, Bristol Rovers are superb for League Two. Not just a handful of brilliant (clean) sliding tackles but also marshalled Roofe and Baldock and forced us into long shots. Was surprised we had more of the game according to the BBC stats because it didn't watch like that to me.

Caught hideously short for both goals and the other breakaway chance. Have to say Taylor didn't really stand out to me at all.

We are falling a bit behind the top two now, although we have a hideous January and we might be able to make up ground during the run in. I still love this team. All that said, hearing all those Bristol fans singing so happily was the stuff of nightmares.

Bristol Rovers have been a bit of a dark horse this season, I didn't expect them to do this well after being a conference club last season.

Well done on beating Oxford, should keep their overly confident fans quiet, well for a bit at least.

Very fair summary TTL. I thought you had a lot of the ball but we defended very well and it enabled us to counter attack, which is exactly what we wanted to do.

Having seen the penalty incident back I think it is absolutely the right decision, even though Appleton doesn't seem to think so. Easter did very well to get there first and Slocombe collided with him - none of the Oxford players seemed to complain. It was tucked away well by Harrison and Taylor's equaliser was a superb piece of play, particularly the cross from Leadbitter on the right hand side.

I was worried when Roofe put you ahead but our response was terrific and that's vital in this division. You aren't going to win every game so if you can respond well the next week you have every chance of picking up enough points to be in and amongst it at the top.

Delighted with the 3 points and the fact it opens up the possibility of the top 3 for us.

Didn't really want this result. Even though we've taken 27 points from the last 10 games I'm still looking below. Wanted an Oxford win so the top three could sail happily off into League 1 and leave the rest of you to scrap it out for the playoffs. Rovers looking strong though.

I've never known three teams in this league to happily sail off into L1 as early as January, it is likely that at least one of you will go on a bad run at some point. Usually it ends up being a club with off the field problems.

But we will be proper unbearable when we turn Carlisle over. 3-0 in their own back yard, I predict.

We went top during off the field problems so there must be some financial strife heading to Oxford or Plymouth!

Pfft, well 3-0 isn't as scary as 4 or 5-0 so I don't think it will be that unbearable.

So is this of course your same as always 3-0 win to Oxford prediction? But we end up beating you and you just end up looking stupid? Is that what this is?

Fantastic win against a very good Oxford side.

I thought we maybe just edged a tight first half but level at the break was a fair reflection. Some good play by both but chances at a premium.

Second half Oxford had more of the ball and put us under quite a lot of pressure but we defended superbly and the closest they came - apart from the goal - was a 35 yard screamer which Mildenhall tipped over the bar.

I must admit I feared the worst when Roofe deflected in a miss his shot early in the second half but we responded really well with a great move ending with with fine header from Taylor.

The same man should have put us in front when Gaffney set him up with a glorious chance but for some reason he chose to hit it first time and ballooned it into the car park.

I could see the penalty coming when Easter broke into the box. It always loked like he was going to get there first.

I'm convinced Oxford will finish in the top 3 so that's a massive 3 points for us.

No complaints at all about the result - we were well and truly stuffed. I thought the whole of our team were just a touch slower than they had been in our previous two exertions. It appears to be catching up with us
Definitely leads to an interesting situation next weekend.

Now that we have played you twice - good luck to you for the rest of the season. Hope you win every one of your remaining matches.

(unless of course we meet again in the play-offs).

I do think there was an element of the three games in a week catching up with us. Shouldn't normally be a problem, but two of them were high profile, high tempo cup games. That said I thought we played the better football, had the better chances, certainly had the lion's share of possession (60% I believe) and were generally the better side. That's not to say Rovers weren't a decent side, they were, and very effective too. They are a big, hard working side, with a game plan of putting bodies behind the ball and playing a quick break away game. I think they'll trouble most sides in this division.

Thought a draw was the least we deserved, and wouldn't have grumbled too much if that's how it had ended, and I suspect Rovers felt the same.

Although it now puts pressure on us, this IS NOT a post Christmas slump. We are playing well and are just as good a side as we were on Thursday evening. Sorry everyone, but shit happens, and we'll be back.
