Poor decision. Mesut was onside and about to score again.

Looked soft and I'm surprised it was given so early in the game but we should be 1-0 anyway.

Another shit performance, but another 3 points. We won't keep getting away with these, need to improve massively.

Two things I never want to see again:
  1. A defence consisting of Chambers, Mert, Monreal - Way way WAY too slow for the premier league. Appalling team selection from Wenger. EDIT: Especially against a team known for it's quick wingers.
  2. Mark Clatternburg - Guy is a disgraceful ref. If I was as bad as him at my jog as he was today, I'd get sacked.
I'd like to see Welback dropped for Walcott, because Theo's movement off the ball as light years beyond Welbecks.

Welbeck's movement was directly responsible for both goals, though.

Palace deserved a point. Mertesacker did well, I thought. Monreal was shocking.

No it was the second his movement helped created... the first was purely closing down.

He got in behind the Palace defence one time... how is that good enough for you?

Chambers was poor again, he's just not a RB. We need Debuchy back asap, he's a proper defender. We got away with another one, Palace were better than us. Ozil was a monster though and Welbeck showed why he's selected above Theo.

I didn't laud his performance - and I think there are fixtures where Theo should start ahead of him. I imagine Ox will be picked there once again when he's back. But Welbeck's contributions led to both goals and he's much better defensively than Theo. Seems strange for him to be picked for criticism among some worse performances. I am very pleased to have players like him, Theo, and Rosicky for variety and versatility on the bench.

I've only singled out Welbeck's movement for criticism and with attachers such as Cazorla, Ozil, Sanchez and Giroud ALL looking to come infield and pick up short passes we need just one player that looks to run into space. With Ramsey out it seems that Theo is the only player that does that. Going forward the balance is much better with that type of player. I lost count the amount of times Cazorla or Ozil found a pit of space in the middle and looked right and Welbeck was no where to be seen. It slowed us down and we were lucky today.

I'm glad Welbeck is an Arsenal player, but he's the easiest player to sacrifice to improve our overall game.

Once everyone is fit, we can be more flexible with our selection. But right now I think we need to play Walcott more than Welbeck.

Yaya Sanogo will be a huge miss for Palace.
Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit :D:woo:

Thought we played ok today, early penalty made it hard for us, but we hung in there and made them sweat a bit at the death

Please put Szczesny back in goal soon. Ospina frightens me.

I know it's unfashionable to say so but I do like the Palace fans. Yeah the flags and stuff are a bit much but you can't knock the way they stick with their side regardless of the scoreline.

Unlucky not to nick a point in the end.

Had the replay of this on at work this morning and two things really stood out:

1) It was Mertesacker's best performance of the season.
2) While it wasn't Özil's best performance by any means, he looks much more confident even when we aren't the team with momentum (a big factor in the criticism he has received since arriving in England). Alexis should have scored when Özil did brilliantly on the counter to play him through.

Özil looks beefy as well. Shame he was injured for so long, he's been really good lately.

Although Sanchez has stopped scoring since Özil came back :dk:
