The southern/northern based stuff is interesting. I think in a way non-league is quite southern based. But that is hugely offset by the Football League being "over-represented" by northern clubs.

Agree, it's just one of those oddities and doesn't appear to be due to any underlying agenda to force Northern clubs out IMO

L2 is similiar in a way to the conference as it also has more southern based clubs, that is if you consider Cambridge, Northampton, Bristol R etc as southern clubs. The northern L2 fans think so, and I do too, as for me north means from Birmingham upwards.

North for me is Crewe/Chesterfield/Grimsby and upwards.

No they haven't made it "more and more southern based" below the conference premier, they've failed to address the long term problems which have lead to it being the case. A big part of that has been the lack of promotion from certain Northern step 5 divisions. Another is the uneven North/South funneling at the step 2 borderline (but this was the case before the conference North/South came in, the league where it happened was just different).

It's stupid, but it's sod all to do with the FA, it's all the Football League's decision I believe. Which makes sense as if you asked football league clubs to vote on if they should have more money or pass it on of course they are going to vote for more money. I don't blame them, but I don't like it either.

Who evers to blame its a bad move to me. Agree about lack of northern step 5 promotion, liveing in that area i know the situation all too well

Wonder how he'll react to all 3 tv ties for the fa cup being Northern teams. No doubt he'll come up with some other ridiculous theory.

Did i say everyone hates northern teams? Its clubs and local league officials to blame up there as much as fa. My view on fa cup seen as thougth you eager to know: sick of salford and the manturian wankers backing them. Hope my local league two team stuff them.
