Parachute payments - When they end

Hi all,
There's a discussion on our club forum about finances with some supporters (unbelievably) wanting our minted owner to throw huge money at the playing staff, a bad idea for me.
It's made me think about parachute payments and when they end for Villa, Sunderland and Boro?
What do the likes of Villa do about finances when the PP's end as I think next season is their last one isn't it?
Surely the current financial model is unsustainable without PP's?
I guess Norwich have already had to adjust their finances to cope with this?

I believe it's 2 seasons of £35m, and 1 final season of 14m.
So I'd guess Villa for example (should they stay down) will have to account for that drop in next their 3rd season.

And should Villa as the example go up, then their next season's 14m payment will get spread evenly around next season's Championship clubs.

I think that's correct anyway!

So what if they went up straight away then ? Does that mean the 35m and the subsequent £14m gets divided up?

From what I can find, the equal share TV revenue is about £85m, which means the parachute payments are £47m in year one, £38m in year two and £17m in year three.

Its strange for the following reasons -

Wolves hopefully promotion this year being a grey area use obviously but isn't as money backed as some like to make out but also has players others realistically may not be able to get. But you have Cardfiff, Millwall, Shefd Utd and Brentford who all don't fit the spend big model. Especially Brentford who this is the 2nd time in 3 seasons they have been in playoff contention?

Huddersfield last season too, Birmingham originally under Rowlett I'd maybe use as partial evidence.
