Matt Taylor appointed. Good on us for appointing from within I guess

Delighted with Matt Taylor getting the gig.

He will be popular and did great things with U23s. Just hope he releases Woodman and James pronto.

Echo the above.

Delighted with Matt Taylor. Best defender I've ever seen at SJP. Will do a great job for us I think. Kudos to the board for moving swiftly and decisively. Onwards and upwards.

This is shit news. Genuinely gutted. Can see a struggle next season, with our best players going.

It’ll take big money for Stockley and Boeteng to be prised away as they’re contracted. Pym and JMT could be at risk, but their loss wouldn’t be catastrophic in my view.

We'll see. Completely disagree about JMT, he is a superb defender and it's no coincidence that our dip in form matched his lay off. If he had been fit all season we may well have got into the autos. And Pym, player of the season, he'd be a loss.

Very happy with Matt Taylor, seems a universally popular decision across the fan base which is what we needed. Fits all my criteria in being young, willing to bring through the youth players and he knows the club. He was a great defender for us and I'm really pleased we're giving him his chance in management. UTC.

Sad for me to see Tis leave, but it was going to happen sooner or later, but the club is in a very good place financially for Matt Taylor, and also has a good crop of youngsters that he knows intimately, so hopefully that will give him the confidence to take the job by the scruff of the neck and push on. The spine of the team is very good for this level, and hanging onto 1 or 2 key players is the difference between chasing auto's again and being mid-table in my view, so hopefully the Club Board provide the wonga to improve contracts for a couple who are bound to be made decent offers elsewhere. It's always difficult to tempt decent players down here when they get offers nearer to where they live, so hanging onto good ones is crucial

I’m presuming that this is a different Matt Taylor you are all taking about rather than the cheating bastard that used to play for Bristol Rovers?

Hoping that Tisdale will be announced in the next couple of days... surely it has to happen otherwise why on earth have we waited this amount of time to bring someone in.
I thought it had said he was talking this coming week? Wouldn't be surprised if something is announced tomorrow

This is the one who'd rather attend a wedding than turn up to a training session the day before a crunch game when his club's in a relegation battle.

Funnily enough, he never played another game for us after that.

I've been told 'official' talks started Friday night and he's had the weekend to look things over before they resume on Monday. Best case scenario is probably an announcement Tuesday/Wednesday

Naughty. I don’t blame you being pissed off if that’s true.

Our experience of Taylor is the opposite, as he’s been one of the stand out leaders during our rise up to L1 ten years ago.

I'm not bitter, relegation turned out to be a blessing as we completely rebuilt.

His time with us was a disaster though - he had niggly injuries all season and the wedding fiasco (considering he was club captain) just summed up our year.

He was getting on a bit by that point, injuries start getting more problematic as you get older. His peak playing years were with us and Charlton.

Tonight's news about Ferguson may have some impact on Tisdale... I was told that Fergie applied for the MK job before anyone else, and he only wasn't interviewed because of the problems with Sir Alex's health. Now he's resigned it'll be interesting to see if we stick with the Tisdale plans or if we open it back up to include Fergie Jr as well.

I'm confident we'll have announced Tisdale (or Fergie Jr) by 6pm today.

It's been a pretty badly kept secret that it's Tisdale. He may well be successful with MK Dons and only time will tell but I'm not convinced he's a good fit.

The problem with him, as has become evident in recent seasons, is that he believes his own hype but has been found out too many times for it to stack up. He doesn't seem to handle pressure very well at all and stubbornly sticks to game plans which have been proven to be ineffective. The Coventry play off was a perfect example of this where he tinkered with the starting line up and tactics unnecessarily and then failed to tinker again to correct things.

I wish him well but I wasn't sorry to see him go.

If they've actually offered him a multi year rolling contact then congratulations Paul.

Good luck for the next few seasons MK.

Rolling contract. 4mn in wages. It's another World.

The good news is it looks like our best players are staying. I can live without Oakley and Gwinnet.

I'm just glad we are going with a manager who is knowledgable and experienced at this level. The last 2 have been dire appointments. We need someone to steady the ship before we descend into obscurity. (listens to the cheering from everyone else )
