I believe the tiers are to be announced Thursday to allow businesses to prepare for reopening, which will of course, be based on the tier they're in.

Unless something goes horribly wrong in that region it should remain the same for 5th Dec. I would imagine most of the north west will have to still watch on iFollow.

although still rife in the north west it thankfully id dropping like a stone it was 597 per 100k at the beginning of November down to 357 yesterday a drop of 24% week on week.........if we get it below 200 for the end of lockdown we will have a chance

The BBC article says it's "up to" 4,000, but a maximum of 50% of the capacity.

It's a step forward and great news we can get some fans back into stadiums. I think we need more clarity on what it exactly means but there will always be if they can why can't we questions.

My own personal view is that we should be trying to open up society and learning to cope with this. Football clubs are also desperate for fans to return so clearly this is a great step.

However setting aside my personal feelings, this is mad isn’t it? We’re running at 400 deaths and 20,000 confirmed cases per day. We’re no better now than we were a month ago and now they’re talking about allowing 4,000 fans into grounds and opening up households for Christmas. I can only see a spike a further lockdown in January from this.

There was talk of our game at Morecambe getting changed to Wed 2nd December If we beat Wimbledon on Thursday as then we would be playing Crawley in the FA Cup this Sunday. IF we beat Wimbledon i wonder if Morecambe will go for the change so they can get fans in to watch the match?

Think you will manage that......Dont take this the wrong way promotion for you could put your club back 20 years.
You dont have rich backers and going up will about double your wage bill.
Make a few quid and gradually grow year on year

True, but without fans in the ground, those clubs who have collected money for season tickets will be mulling over having to give out refunds. We've not actually collected all the season ticket money as we stopped doing so when it was announced fans wouldn't return in October. Also they will presumably stop providing so many free ifollow passes so there's some saving to be had.

I hope we don't see a mad free-for-all at Christmas. I'm all for some level of easing but only what can be justified by the science. I wouldn't want to see a politically motivated lifting of restrictions knowing fine well it will lead to further deaths, and I wouldn't want to see either anything that encourages people to behave irresponsibly in the way they do when they know a lockdown is coming and go out and party.

Finding space to socially distance more than 4k people in a big ground like Old Trafford might be easy but you still have the accumulation of people outside the ground before and after the game. I don't think at this level there's as much of a culture of getting pissed before and after the game as there is in the big clubs in the big cities.

You'd think it would happen if we get put in tier 2, however I can't see it. Boris will shove us in tier 3 with the rest of lancashire, despite our rates being significantly lower than everywhere else in the county. It's just easier for him to do that.

The last pilot games, we applied to be a host then 24 hours later said we weren't ready, it was pretty shambolic. Something like that happening again wouldn't surprise me either.

We won't know what tiers places are going to be confirmed as being within until tomorrow, but we can take fairly well educated guesses by reading the news and considering what tiers places were in pre-lockdown v2.0. It's kind of a pain in the arse to keep track of the entire country, so I thought a thread might be useful so we could maybe start planning away days (if travel is an option).

On that note, who is thinking of travelling to away games and going in home ends (assuming away tickets won't be getting issued)? Is that morally wrong? I'm on the fence really. We've got Colchester away on 5th December who averaged 3606 last year, which obviously includes away fans so I'd assume there are tickets available as I think they'll be going into tier one. Is it wrong for me to buy a ticket, drive from London which I suspect will be tier two and sit quietly in the home end?

Sky News MPs are kicking off saying it’s lockdown under a different name. Will have to see though! Stoke is 5th highest so we will be spared the suffering in person for a bit longer!

For some reason I want to say that back at the start of the season it was mentioned that they might just let season ticket holders in to start with just to ensure everything is running smoothly with a smaller crowd, but plans may have changed after all of the delays. Think our season ticket numbers are down to about 500 this year as they only went on sale about a day before the return of fans was postponed. Guess it will become clearer in the next week or so.
