Derby County away - I think I may break my ELF Trophy away fixture virginity for this one.

I haven’t been to Pride Park. We haven’t played there for 20 years. Wouldn’t be surprised if we took a few thousand down.

Beat Portsmouth 5-2 at Fratton Park with quite a few fringe players starting. Sasu and Pearce scored their first Wimbledon goals. A disappointingly large crowd but only 186 of us.

Oxford at home next. I'm beginning to take an interest but I still won't attend a match in this competition until the academies are no longer invited.

Beat Derby 0-1 and totally deserved it.

Actually played the ball on the ground for a change, amazing what happens when you pick actual footballers in the starting lineup.

It helps when your first 11 is absolute bab that the back up Pizza cup players are actually alright and can beat a reasonably strong L1 team.

We played our County Cup match yesterday away at Morecambe. Their 2 new signings played;- Edwards played the 1st half and had 2 assists as Morecambe went in 2-1 up at half-time. Their new keeper didn't fare quite so well as we put another 5 past him in the 2nd half to win 6-2.
Dom Telford got 3, Gotts 1 and our B team striker Sam Bellis got the other 2.
Put it on this thread as the county cup and pizza cup are about as prestigious as each other...

Tinpot thread? ‘The county cup’ sounds like what you’d play in at school.

Honest to god, if you ever have the mis fortune of getting into non league, I kid you not that the county cup gets priority over a league game. So if they fall on the same day, the league game gets PP.

Luckily for us we didn't have anything like the Welsh cup to play in, in our later non league days.

We did, however, get the chance to compete in the Welsh cup on the same day we were playing in the FA Cup vs Brentford away. The only time our club has 2 recognised fixtures on the same day.

Our game with Derby last night was fairly comfortable in the end. They didn’t have a shot on target and we rested a few key players - could’ve been 3-0!

One of Blackpool, Burton, Accrington and Bolton awaits us in the area-semis.

£110k earned from prize money.

Another £50k available for the winner in the next round.

Away at Posh tonight. They had a tough game Sunday so they'll rest a few (we hope).

Crawley lost at Posh last night

I should pay more attention to this competition as it's our only realistic hope if getting to Wembley at the moment.

8 changes for both teams from Saturday......yet both Blackpool and us seem to have a decent team out

possibly the strongest bench in the history of the competition

Not giving it the faux ‘I’m not bothered if we’d won or lost’ guff tonight, a day out at Wembley is the best we can hope for now given how dire the league’s been, another £50k in the pot to go towards Mark Hughes’ pay off too.

Steady £170k we’ve earned from this Comp so far - who needs the FA/EFL Cup to generate additional funds, I hear you say?

From what I understand (which isn’t a great deal), the semi-final isn’t regionalised.

So it’s one of Blackpool, Peterborough, Wycombe or Brighton.

I’m gonna have to attend the final if we somehow get there, aren’t I…. I might even attend the Semi if we’re drawn at home.

Our record in this competition this season reads:

Won - 6
Lost - 0
Scored - 16
Conceded - 2
Clean sheets - 4

They click when the pressures off, evidently.

I think the two best sides left in should play each other, and likewise the two worst sides - praying for that Bradford draw.

Well done for knocking the last academy team out. It now becomes a legitimate competition.

Disagree. Until they're out of it for good from the start it ceases to be a legitimate competition.
