Christ, things like this make me angry. He fucked up. It was a stupid and shitty thing to do. But we live in a world where despicable things happen every day and quite frankly he had a few seconds of madness. We've all done stupid things that we regret and wish we could turn back the clock on. I really hope he doesn't get the sack for this. He's apologised and showed what comes across as genuine remorse.

Too right, if the do gooders have their way we'll end up with Arry the dinosaur on our tele screens ffs.

Why was the bloke filming on his phone whilst driving? Should be concentrating on the road, especially with his kid there. Clearly a twat. Hope he gets done for it.
excellent point Chris from the other perspective.

He spat on a teenage girl. What Hugh said. No normal human does that after being pushed a little. He's faced a career of being abused verbally by football fans, it's part of the job description. Fuck his remorse, he's only apologising because he was caught.

I hope so too, he clearly committed a crime. What he said wasn't provocation (at all) but you can't use your mobile phone whilst driving.

The only person who deserves any sympathy is the innocent girl who got a spat on (and has a gurning idiot of a father).

Police in contact with the driver for filming whilst driving. If they take things further that should be 6 points on his license which is the least he deserves. Presumably they will also be in contact with Carragher as spitting at someone is counted as battery as far as I'm aware. Not good considering the recipient was 14 years old.

Shame to see Carra booted off, because they ain't going to bring him back next season are they? Him and Neville were good.

I reckon he will be back next season, if they had no intention of bringing him back they'd have just done what they did with Gray and Keys. I don't really see what advantage they gain from suspending him for a few months if they intended to bin him between May and August.

Well I hope you're right. Hopefully it is a case of letting the storm pass and carry on as you were in August.

Still, didn't he beat up some guy outside a McDonalds and nobody really cared?

Clearly an awful person, let's hope we never see him on TV again.

Ever beaten up some guy and received a police caution?

This is not something normal people do, Carragher is not a first offender. He deserves absolutely no sympathy.

Carragher's been a nasty bastard in this incident (and I'm not his bigest fan) and deserves whatever is coming, but no Hugh, you're judging him off Joey Barton's indiscretion there.

West Ham are having bonus security for their next home game(s?). Just a bit of me hopes that they get on the pitch again.

Taxpayer funded of course!
(Pags beat me to it).
Interesting when juxtaposed with the allegations recently about Mr Sullivan's tax affairs.

You miss the point Bilo. Any other ground in the top flight and the club would have to pay for the additional security/police. West Ham get it as part of the chummy tax-subsidised deal they were handed with the ground.

https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...emier-league-agents-fees-football-association

Liverpool paid the most in agent fees over the last two transfer windows.

Absolutely disgusting if you ask me and that.
That probably won't include the ludicrous amount you lot paid for Sanchez's transfer to his agent.

I thought I heard that the clubs were looking to stop excessive fees though. We may see something develop over the summer hopefully, as it is disgraceful tbh - the players should be paying their fees like in all other areas where agents occur.
