A lot of trained medical personnel on here tonight. Perhaps leave the judgement on whether Demeble is fit to play to Stevenage's Doctor?

To be fair, unless he's sustained a loss of consciousness or suffered a possible concussion(which they can test for using a testing kit), there is no reason why he can't play on.

A concussion testing kit? Do elaborate? And you can't definitely say whether they have or haven't on the spot just after its happened

No, but then neither can anyone else watching on a TV screen. The only one to assess that is the team physio. I would assume, following the guidelines, he assessed that there had been no loss of consciousness. Read the rules on head injury management:

http://www.thefa.com/my-football/head-injuries-in-football

Basically says, as long as he wasn't knocked out of is showing signs of a concussion(which you would assume the team Doctor tested for), if the Doctor is happy for him to return, there is no reason why he can't.

Demeble was fully knocked out even if it was for 30 seconds there is no way he should be playing football. What's to say he gets another head collision or has some late affects to the blow. It's dangerous and there was no need for him to play on. It's not like they'd used all three subs.

Oh and as for the game, it is dreadful, but Southend have missed a good chance through Timlin and an absolute sitter from Worrall. Seriously, a yard either side of the keeper and its 1-0. No, puts it straight at Day. Southend will hope that miss doesn't cost them in the long run.

And you know this how? Just because a player doesn't move doesn't mean they were knocked out. So basically, a qualified physio and Doctor both ignored the clear guidelines and let the player return, knowing full well what could happen if, as you say, he suffers another incident or after effects. Really? I seriously doubt it.

He's gone off now. So clearly they felt there was something wrong and that he shouldn't be out there.

JJ1532 I still wanna know about these concussion testing kits

Why is Sky Go so far beind the TV. SUFC tweeted about the goal 2 minutes before I saw it.

Nice goal, still a shocking game though.

Ah, so you didn't click on the link, which clearly explains them. Try this one: http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/foo...42/10/50/130214_pocketscat3_print_neutral.pdf

Oh and did I say there was nothing wrong with him? I don't remember saying that. All I said was, the trained medical personnel felt at the time that he was fit to continue. But hey, I'll bow to the massed medical experts in this thread on this one. :ffs:

It was a serious head injury. He was down and not moving for over 5 mins. Maybe he wasn't knocked out but that's still serious towards the players health why even risk it? What's the point?

Loved the pre-match quote from the faketanman.

Never been a fan but this is Mourinho-level mindgame stuff, damning Westley with faint praise whilst superficially coming off in a respectful way so it's not one you can pin on the changing room wall to do your team talk for you.

"I think Graham is a very clever man - he likes to paint a picture of an ugly, physical side, but deep down they play some good stuff"

I dunno. Ask the medical staff that one. If it was me, I would have taken him off. The issue I have is people on here second guessing the experts in the ground, like they are apparently better positioned to make a judgement. Anyway, he's off now, so hopefully he's ok and he makes a full recovery.

Yeah, anyway he's off now. Hope Southend grab a goal.

Did have a little titter earlier when the commentator said Westley had said they've had to play all their passing football away from home this year. Sure there's 23 other clubs who'd disagree!
