Yes, if we wanted Stacey or Justin we could afford him and attract him as long as there weren’t a club like Stoke interested which I feel they will be.Reading back through this thread, I see some are coveting James Justin and Jack Stacey. For me, it would take at least £6m to sell the pair. Would Brentford, Bristol City and such like be as attractive a prospect being in the same division now. There was a stat a few weeks ago that Stacey was literally off the charts in comparison to other U25 L1 full backs.
For us, I've honestly no idea who we'd target. Top players in League One for teams who won't be at this level won't come cheap either.
I saw something in the last few days that we're going to sign Josh Willis, the Coventry captain and also saw something about us talking to Aiden McGeady. We were also definitely talking to Graeme Shinnie, Aberdeen captain; his brother plays for us currently. I'd also like us to try and take Eunan O'Kane back if he gets back to fitness.
Would take Gestede or Fletcher from Boro, but the former turned us down last minute in January. Would also take Matt Smith from QPR but don’t know what the situation will be there with him over the summer.
People have mentioned Gavin Whyte from Oxford. Can’t say I know much about him. I imagine we’ll take a look at Charlton’s Lyle Taylor if they don’t come up. Big bloke, started his career here and old enough that we can probably get him for under a million. Seems to tick all of our boxes.
Gregory’s out of contract at Millwall, looked good last night I’d take him I expect.
Shinnie has offers from us, Derby and Sheffield Utd supposedly as well. About as realistic as when we came up and tried signing Gayle Gray and Lingard.Aiden McGeadys career has gone so far downhill if Luton is a credible choice.
I get it, you don’t like Luton. Is there a reason for this inane line of postings?Aiden McGeadys career has gone so far downhill if Luton is a credible choice.
You're not actually up "officially" til June, go play in the kids area til then youth.I get it, you don’t like Luton. Is there a reason for this inane line of postings?
Players like Vaulks and AjayiAlex Neil has talked about adding more experience but I hope we steer clear of Gregory, no better than Moult who also struggled to fit into our system.
Think some of our fans have read a bit too much into the 'experience' comment though, I don't think he means players pushing 30, I think he means players like Potts who are still quite young but have actually kicked a ball at this level.
Too old for us.
Browne isn't out of contract and I would want better than Martinez.Browne from Preston and Vaulks from Rotherham both out of contract, would add extra bodies into the midfield options and I think Browne would be a top replacement for Lee. If/when Westwood goes I wouldn't mind bringing in Martinez again from Arsenal, done well in every loan spell and is a good age to develop still.
I don't know whether there's anything in it. I'd like to think that at his age, if he could still play in the Championship he would jump at it, if Blunderland cock up the play offs. He would need to at least half his wage demands, if not cut it by two thirds, which I don't think would work for him at all. You're not actually up "officially" til June, go play in the kids area til then youth.
McGeady is on a big wage playing in front of 30k each week, would take a hell of a deal to swap for Luton IMHO, until you move to Power Court where you can compete on and off the field.
We had him 3 years back and unless he's bothered (PNE) he's a waste of a wage, he's done OK in league one don't get me wrong but it's a huge risk, ask Wigan with McManaman.I don't know whether there's anything in it. Take himNot sure how he has got on at Forrest this season but I quite fancy Ryan Yates from them.
Looked quality at Notts County on loan and when he left they fell away quite a bit 2 seasons back. We were linked with him sort of last summer as well, think he would fill the McCormack sized hole we will have next season too and is a good age still.
Take him

Vaulks still has a year left, we took up a 12 month extension earlier in the season.
Like Nick "The Missing" PowellSheff Wed must be skint. Surely they can do better than Vaulks?
