We have all of about 14 players contracted beyond this season, if we bring in more then yes maybe he'd go for less but in the mean time I can't see us being happy to let players go for low amounts.
For players in your plans I would imagine you'd ask for a lot, but with 12 months left values are depreciated a lot, I can't imagine around £300k will be a problem

I get all that, but given we only bought on 1 permanent transfer that lasted beyond the transfer window last summer its more of a case we need something that resembles a squad first before we can afford to let players go. Because of that reason if someone were to enquire about Agard before bringing in players I would expect us to whack on an inflated value.

You're all missing the point with Agard, he's wank.

Take what you can and cut your losses.

Always said Agard is a terrific athlete but an absolute toss footballer.

Something like 30+ goals in 2 seasons would argue against that at league one level.

C'mon you've seen him, atrocious footballer.

Anybody would score 30+ goals in our promotion side and yours whilst taking penalties.

He's not great. He was alright in L1, but his first touch is absolutely atrocious and his finishing is nothing special at all. It's fair to say he's a L1 player, I think you did us slightly squeezing 700k out of him but he was probably worth it for some of the goals he scored last season. Definitely wouldn't expect to recoup that amount of money on him, nor would I expect him to get a move to a club in this league.

Here's the 6 I'd like to see us sign (I know we are only meant to do 5, but couldn't think who to knock out, probably Bentley), and I don't think any of them are too unrealistic.

1. Daniel Bentley (Southend) - out of contract but they'll get a tribunal fee. We need a long term replacement for Button, as a big club will come and take him soon (it wouldn't surprise me if Villa tried to get him this summer, they sniffed around a lot last year) so if we could get Bentley that would be great. Probably depends on us selling Button, but maybe we could have Bentley as an understudy for a year before Button leaves.

2. John Egan (Gillingham) - linked with him loads in January as a replacement for Tarkowski, I'm pretty sure we'll be in for him in the summer. Once we've got him I think our defence should be pretty complete. Good solid defender, young and will be a good investment for the future, and think we'd be a good fit for him wanting to come here.

3. Kamohelo Mokitjo (FC Twente) - we were linked with him both of the last 2 transfer windows, good mates with Andreas Bjelland who we signed last year, and exactly the type of dominating DM we need. He's not tall, but he's quick and never stops running. Would be absolutely delighted with his signing if we could get it over the line.

4. Romaine Sawyers (Walsall) - pretty convinced this will happen. Think he'd jump at the chance to play under Smith again, knowing he knows how to get the best out of him, and we are in pretty dire need of attacking mids / wingers at the moment. He'd probably start most of the games, and given he is available on a free I can't see why we wouldn't snap him up.

5. Kemar Roofe / Bradley Dack (Oxford / Gillingham) - these are probably the signings I think are least likely to happen, though I'd absolutely love to get both in, I reckon they'll each cost around £2m and that will put a lot of teams off, and it would definitely be the case of one not both. Similarly to Sawyers, we are in dire need of attacking mids / wingers, and given the style of football we play, our relative success in the league over the past couple of years, the way we've developed and allowed lower league players to move on, and the pretty much guarantee of playing time, we've got to be a pretty attractive proposition for most of these guys.

6. Adam Armstrong (Newcastle - Loan) - probably depends on them staying up, otherwise I think he'll be on their bench next year, but I think he'd be a great fit for our team. We've done quite well with Premier League talent of late, so I'd hope they'd be keen to send him to us, and I think he's got all the attributes to have a good season in the Championship and fill some holes in our team.

If we got Egan, Mokitjo, Sawyers, one of Roofe and Dack, and Armstrong, I think we'd be in a really good place to challenge for the play offs next season. It's asking a lot, but we have the funds after all of the players we sold last season! Would be even better if we could get Canos back on loan, or recall Jota.

God knows with Wägner..

We've signed a LB, CB and winger already.

I think he plans on turning Kyle Dempsey into a RB so we've got that spot covered.

We've no available keepers so far for next season, although we're to sign Danny Ward if reports are to be believed on a season long loan. I'd like us to go for Bentley, but I think he'll be aspiring a lot higher than us.

I expect us to sign Paterson on a permanent deal, although looking at his Instagram posts he may be giving Forest another chance.. Which would be a blow.

I expect Billing to be a starter next season with Hogg next to him and Whitehead as backup (legs are going). Could possibly do with someone to replace Huws, who we can't afford permanently.

We need at least 1 if not 2 strikers this summer. We played Wednesday the other week and the difference between the sides was that they could bring fresh striking options on, we only had Wells. I'd expect us to go in for 1 of Bradshaw, Armstrong on loan if Geordies stay up or Tammo Harder at Dortmund II/Simon Terrode at Bochum - other teams in this league are also watching the latter.

I have a feeling we may be selling Scannell this Summer too.. Just hasn't started a game in ages even though he's better than Harry Bunn who seems to be a Wägner favourite.

Davidson will be off, absolute useless at left back. God knows how he gets into the Aussie XI. He hates us and we hate him.

I expect us to line up along the lines of

Ward

Dempsey/Smith
Hudson/Hefele
Lynch
Löwe

Hogg/Whitehead
Billing/Huws replacement

Van La Parra
Lolley/Paterson
Bunn/Scannell

Wells/New Striker

Loads can change though, just hope we manage to keep hold out our POTY for the first time in 3 years after losing Clayton and Butterfield previously albeit for big money..

Had two MOTM performances, especially where he ripped Hull apart and there was no coincidence Hull stepped up when he went off. When he's not on the ball he's been absent in play, but with us staying up Wagners not rushed him in with the season over and brought him off early to test other formations out and mix it up. Get a full pre season behind him and I'm hoping we've got a very exciting player upon our hands..

Also worth noting I'm hoping we go for Zach Clough again..

I reckon we'll line up something like this next season:

Button
Colin - Dean - Bjelland - Bidwell
NEW DM - Woods
NEW WR - Judge (when returned from injury) - NEW WR
Hogan

With reserves of:

NEW GK
Clarke - O'Connell - Barbet - Field
Yennaris - McEachran
Gogia - Macleod - Vibe
Hofmann

How much've you got? They wanted £3m for him last time, and Clough's dad thinks that Manchester United are beneath his beloved son.

I'd be a bit disappointed with that, we need better than Smith and Bunn/Scannell if we're to really progress. Think we'll spend more than we have done previously this summer.

Provided were still in this division I think we're weakest at full back on both sides, I'd look at someone like Tyrone mings, had a good start to his career in this division but struggled to get a game since going up.

Up top I'd like us to go in for dicko, would play Joao's role with a bit more experience

Texeria at Liverpool is quality not sure where we'd for him but he's got a lot of quality as had joe Gomez although if they'd allow him down to the championship.

Struggling for another really but I'm sure Carlos will pull a few gems out

He did his cruciate knee ligaments at the start of the season. Having cost them 8m, he won't be leaving.

I reckon that'll be the amount to get him now they've gone down. Clubs underestimate how much we've got as we've not thrown cash at players since Wells..

Probably the pessimist in me, I know Wägner rates Dempsey mind but Smiths not good enough to start at RB. Would of liked us to have gone for Tavernier before Rangers signed him..

I'd like Scanz on the bench but would replace Bunn as he's just not good enough for me despite his assists.

Oh don't be so bitter lad :) he turned you guys down and quite right too. He won't be going to Huddersfield either. He'll stay with us until the prmiership club who have an option on him, decide the time is right and he'll go to them.

Not bitter mate, I'm over the moon we've ended up with Tomlin and have a good chance of getting him permanently. Don't think Clough will get a PL club so let's see how loyal he really is, and if he'll stay in L1.

Absolutely anyone. Can hardly do any worse?

31 points from our final 35 games this season. I can only see one of our top 7 scorers from this season still being at the club next year.

Fairplay on Tomlin, definately a good loan (???). Everton have a longstanding option on Clough and Arsenal have one on Holding. Sorry to not be playing you next season, I think it was you who said that when we played you the players were gutless etc etc and you were not wrong. Wish you well for next season

Yeah, will have to see if we can get him in this summer. Likewise with Bolton, a club of the size of Bolton shouldn't be in L1 but I've no doubt you'll be back better than ever after a rebuild in L1. Best of luck.

With Newcastle down don't think there's any chance of people getting Armstrong or Aarons on loan. Would have been good signings for most teams in this league

Aarons is out of contract this summer. Think we'll need Armstrong.
