Well done Wycombe. And well done Gareth Ainsworth, getting promoted with the third or fourth lowest budget in the division.

Like many, I'm looking forward to big Bayo imposing himself on certain Championship centre backs - particularly those who don't realise that the big man is a pretty decent ball player.

Is he? We have played him a fair bit over the years and he has no doubt caused problems, but I don’t recall him being involved in games outside of winning headers and usual target man activity especially controlling balls on his chest. Ball at his feet I can’t say he has ever surprised me with his ability.

He’s a brilliant target man no doubt and fits Wycombe perfectly but I’d hardly describe him as decent ball player. I wouldn’t put him the Peter Crouchesque “good with his feet for a big man” category of a few years ago

he's obviously got zero pace and you're not going to see too many stepovers etc.

But on his day (and it's not every game) he does pick out an intelligent pass, reading the runs his teammates are making, anticipating that, and playing a clever ball accordingly, not just thumping it down the channels for someone to run onto, but picking a move that you'd need a bit of a footballing brain to do.

He brings others into the game well also, it's not *just* a question of causing havoc up front, barging into people and winning the knockdowns.
