Get your life savings on a 0-0 or 1-1 draw in the first leg of Bradford v Fleetwood. That would be classic Uwe. Millwall to beat Fleetwood in the final, Uwe to complete the hat trick of playoff failures and then join us a few days later.

I'd like it to be Fleetwood due to their consistency over the season, but have a feeling Scunny will do it

Haven't we been more consistent than both? We haven't been out of the play offs all season apart from after the first game....

Bradford were very good at our place, the semis will depend on the first legs but hard to call an overall winner.

They were very good at valley parade but got completely outclassed at bramall lane. I'm gonna predict Scunthorpe

McCall dicked about with the team for both Sheff Utd games, not sure why. One game it worked and one game it clearly didn't. I'd imagine we'll play the team we've played most of the last half of the season in the play-offs.

Our first leg PO record is fairly dire, lost in '96, '13 and '16, those three were all at home as again this year although two of them we went on to turnaround the first leg loss and go on to win at Wembley

If I were a betting man I'd be putting a few quid on Bradford I think, beating Millwall in the final.

Our record against rest of top 6 this season is not great as well. P10 W1 D6 L3. Although Fleetwood were the team we beat, and we probably deserved more than what we got in a few of those games. As I said before the threads got deleted the other day, there's not much between Scunny, us and Fleetwood and on paper I'd fancy our chances against any of the teams in the play-offs but we've bottled it a bit in a few of the big games this season. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Our record against the top 6 is precisely why I don't think we'll even make it past Fleetwood.

There's a massive question mark next our big game mentality (could go back to McCall blowing promotion the last time round), we created enough at Scunthorpe and Fleetwood to win a few games and managed to lose both - if we learn from this, we won't be far off.
If Fleetwood press and shut out our midfield we'll struggle on Thurs, I don't think we need Cullen and Vince (won't happen, Vincelot will start) and I'd go with Gillead and Law with Cullen and Marshall - again won't happen (probably Law on the left as most of the season). McCall will start Clarke and Wyke but neither have much movement compared to Hiwula and Jones (out injured).
The first leg at home is our best opportunity of getting through by taking a lead to Fleetwood, I'd like to see us go for it, which is certainly always our intention, but this season long thing of firing blanks that led to all those draws worries me, like above a 1-1 or similar.

A real toughie against Bradford, we did ok away even though we got narrowly beat but battered at home -yet secured a 2-1 win. The Yorkshire lads will start as firm favourites and rightly so but Rosler has done will with some terrific away results at the Blades and Scunny where we got outstanding wins.
Can Uwe work his magic to finish a remarkable season for the Cods, my heart says yes.............

Based on Sunday i'd say Bradford will beat you comfortably.
Millwall to win the Final in front of 60'000 plus

Sunday was a nothing game for us in as much as we had already qualified for play offs. Dont forget Blades only just beat Spirerites who have been dreadful all season, ditto Coventry leading Scunny for fair part of the game
Btw if you had played like you did in 2nd half on Sunday, for only a few more games earlier in the campaign you would'nt have been relegated !

Great to see Fleetwood only giving us 800 odd tickets for this one, they probably won't even sell out their end!

I'd say it's almost certain they won't do. Same the other day.

What do Bradford fans think of Wyke?

7 goals in 16 app. I don't think he's too badly. He's hit the woodwork a good 3/4 times aswell - and he hasn't been our pen taker.

He needs better service, but he looks to be a decent buy.

Looks good, got the swagger of a decent striker, gets himself in decent positions, actually takes more than 20% of his chances which is refreshing for one of our strikers.

I think we're probably the worst team out of the 4, but weirdly I think we're best placed to do well if we went up. We've got 2 good, proven strikers at the level above and a scattering of other similar players throughout the team. We'd need 3 or 4 decent additions to have a decent chance of staying up, but I'm not sure any of the others could say with any confidence which of their players would cope a level higher which would give us a planning advantage.

A lot will depend on whether Archer is fit and back in form and whether Hutchinson is available for our games. We should fancy our chance of scoring, but we can't keep a clean sheet at the moment.

Hardly call it a nothing game, potentially the biggest game in the clubs history. Huge longshot that Bolton would lose i agree.
We were relegated by Coventry doing the double over us and an abject display the other week at Chesterfield. We deserved to go down, the table doesn,t lie.
Good luck in the play-offs

What do Bradford fans think of Wyke?

I like him purely because he scores goals and gets in positions to take chances. As alluded to previously he's got 7 since joining and hit the post/bar 3 or 4 times too.

However, as a player I think he drifts in and out of games and quite a few times has made little impact. But if he scores I don't care!

We'd need around 7-8 championship ready players, to make a decent go of it.

We had 6 senior players signed on when McCall took over in the summer and his goal was mid table so he's done OK really. Even if we go up and sign some decent players we will be favourites to go straight back down so I'm not worrying about it too much.

Agreed.

It's going to be an interesting couple of week, for sure.

I think we all need to remember that this is the first season under the new owners, and we barely had a squad at the start of the season. McCall has done incredibly well with a budget that was less than last years. The owners expectation was to challenge, but not so much to get promoted. They have a plan, which is why I believe McCall will be heavily back next season regardless of what league we're in.

Also, it could be a blessing that we find ourselves promoted with a few out of contract - particularly in defence. Gives us the additional room required to recruit accordingly should we win at Wembley on 20/05.

Just looked at your squad, it would need a major overhaul, not many players capable of cutting it at this level IMHO.
