One league defeat at home since start of 2016/17 season, even though this season home has not been home

Critics want to look at Spurs away form against the big six but only one of that big six (Chelsea one out of two) has managed an away win against Tottenham in over a season and a half.

POCH OUT !!:woot:

Nah. It will increase in farce value as Spurs progress. Although I doubt you will see Abertawe make an appearance in the thread when that happens.

A few good points have been made in the thread though that even the most staunch Pochettino fan would need to accept, one of them about him not winning anything as a manager yet for example. But with the quality of this Spurs team it's almost inevitable that will cease to be an issue in the near future.

Poch is reportedly our #1 target once we sack Unai.

And converse.

it does look like they will achieve top four so he should be allowed to keep his job - they should've been a lot closer to united though - improvement needed next season

Pochettino talking about his commitment to Spurs: "It is always in my nature to work like you are going to be at the club forever, for your life. That is the commitment with the club, and to understand what the club expects from you, and try to deliver it for the club. That is our job.”

Pochettino is not saying he'll be there forever, he said he works as though he's planning to be there forever, i.e. he can be focused on the job at hand and doing the best he can for Spurs and their future without promising he'll be there long term. He's going to leave them in a much better position when he eventually does move on. He's world class. United, PSG and Madrid should be doing everything in their power to attract him in the near future.

Lol

He's underachieved this season -

Jose and united who have been hammered for being shit & boring according to the tabloids and most fans are four points above them with the same amount of goals scored and conceded - yet pochotinno is hailed as some next level managerial god - it makes no sense

Better football, with yoot and nowhere the same outlay at the end of the day. Fans will take that or trophies, ideally both.

They're level on points with Burnley and we're in December you twerp.

Supposedly title challengers and they're 7 points off Chelsea, 10 United & 15 City.

How is that not grounds for dismissal?

This post makes me smile every time.

18 clear of Burnley, 10 clear of Chelsea.

If Kane leaves it'll implode and Brendan was sacked for that sooooo

No, he shouldn't be sacked. But he isn't overperforming.

So far a 7.5.

8.5 if they win the FA Cup
too high that in my humble - I'd give him a 6.8 rising to 7.5 if he were to win the FA cup.

the story of this season has been don't be crap and you're going to make top four. 5th & 6th have lost 9 & 10 games respectively which could rise further with another 6 games still to play. i think both spurs & liverpool fans would admit they've not had to work very hard to make top four.

this season poch's acid test of whether he is a world class manager came against Juve - he fucked it up. even with two away goals.

i'm not saying he's bad by any stretch - just rather feel the need to rebel against this incessant love-in that the media and general football fans give him - he's not achieved anything to warrant the platitudes.

at the age poch is now Jose had already won the uefa, champions league, numerous national league & domestic cups in different countries. Klopp too - he's only four years older - his career achievements smash poch all over the show - including this season. Both jose & klopp had to build their teams too - poch essentially walked into a squad with two very good players for each position and even had a 30 goal a season man appear out of nowhere.

give an early 40's jose & klopp this spurs team and I'd make punt they would've achieved a lot more than what poch has done -

He'll be sacked six months after Kane leaves, so I'd say in about a year and a half.

So for Kane read Salah and Poch read Klopp - although Kane has a longer connection to his club and Poch ended up with a higher finish even after a season of 38 away games.

It'll be quite a race to the door !

Managers being sacked means sod all now though in the grand scheme of things, look at Hughes for example, terrible job at Stoke and then kept saints up as Swansea and Stoke made worse appointments in hiring two managers who'd recently been sacked for poor performance.

I think what Super Horns said is realistic but it would take a foolish chairman to actually sack Poch or Klopp. The chairman would never be put under pressure to do so as fans will appreciate the exciting football their teams play even when form is patchy. Far more likely that they would leave for a better offer or club with more money.

Poch's problem is that he can not put together one concentrated exceptional season. I read that if you added together the points for the 2015/2016 season (won by Leicester with Spurs third) and 2016/2017 season (won by Chelsea with Spurs second), Spurs would have the most combined points of any team. Probably if you add the 2017/2018 season, Man City will be top due to what they accumulated this season but I think you will find Spurs would still be second over the combined three seasons.

Spurs fans will be annoyed with that, beating Man United convincingly and then losing the next game so no benefit from Monday's result.
