Honestly not sure how anyone can defend that, looked a red in real time, looks just as bad in replays. Reckless, out of control, could do some serious injury if he catches Cooper clean on the leg. The lack of contact is totally irrelevant, it's a terrible, needless challenge that was rightly deserving of a red.

Instead of pointing fingers at Artell, our players, the ref, our fans, maybe Vale fans should ask why their vastly experienced central midfielder is making such a brainless challenge in that area of the pitch at that stage of the game. That's the real talking point from this game. He doesn't do that and the Vale probably get something from the game. But as per, all they want to do is point fingers everywhere else. Nothing changes does it?

Oh and as for the Vale fans getting pissy with Artell's comments, they were creaming themselves when Adams tried to put down Dario after he dared to defend Donaldson after the penalty award in 2010. You lot loved Adams giving it back to Dario, yet you are all up in arms about Artell giving out a bit of(for want of a better word) banter. Jeez, pot kettle much?

A red card for me, doesn't matter how much contact, he's not in control therefore nower days that's a clear red.

On reflection with a bit of a clearer head I was probably a bit harsh on our performance. Vale barley troubled us really despite having more of the ball in our own half. It was a decent away performance and we could/should have put the game to bed on the break.

I must say video that's all over social media of the Vale **** chasing the bus to train station trying to kick it, is comedy gold.

I'm still searching for this comment from Dave that has vale fans calling him a disgrace. I can see no racist comments, he's not threatened anybody, he's not abused any one with a disability, so what has he said that's a disgrace?

I do see comments from vale fans calling Dave a nonce, the usual sick abuse of Dario, now that's a disgrace.

Another little observation for me is that it's only a couple of matches ago that we went down to 10 men and after going 1-0 down at home to Newport, guess what, we started playing better, the only difference to yesterdays match is that our 10 men scored an equalizer and fashioned other chances against a team that are now 2nd in the league. So teams do up their game after going down to 10 men at 1-0 down, it's almost a win or bust mentality, it's just that some teams do it better than others..

If yesterdays match would have stayed 11 v 11 we would have won heavier.

I've decided that I'm never going vale ever again as it's a complete waste of money. It's boring the refs are shit the football from both sides are shit I just don't want go anymore. Wank ownership and 3 wank managers in a row have killed me off and ended my interest in the club. I've gone from going all home games and 15 away ones to gradually less and less these last 4 seasons and after going 3 games this season I've had enough and have purposely spent 100 quid last night and today on beer and takeaway food so I don't have the money go the game next week. You can call me a glory hunter all you want but I won't be returning unless we get rid of the owner Michael Brown gets sacked or we are in the top 12. Money is tight with me and my grandad when he was alive used to always say 2 things 1 was save money for tomorrow as today you may lose your job and 2 don't spend money over bad so basically he is saying save money for more important things and don't waste it on aload of shit and watching vale at the moment is a load of shit.

If money is tight why did you spend £100 on booze and takeaways ? Why not just boycott the game?
Strange decision.
And let's be honest - the refs at vale park
Are no worse than anyone else gets in the football league

Tbf, only four pages two days after the game is pretty poor. Relationship is on the wane. :(

Used to be guaranteed 20 pages back in the Gradi/Adams days. Artell might have just stirred the pot up though for the coming games.

The tackle was either ill judged or badly executed, but either way it will be a red 9 times out of 10. I don't think Tonge is a dirty player or intended to injure his opponent though.

We will recover from a poor start to the season, but it might take a few games.

Nobody cares about away crowds, mate.

And you're quite right, any trip to Stoke-on-Trent is pretty terrible especially as the natives seem so prone to bouts of violence whenever we visit.

The big question is, are the ones that go on there educated or uneducated?

Stonewall red card by the letter of the law.

Crewe should've scored 3. Bakayoko, Porter and the goal.

Popey's header didn't go in. We didn't create much for all our possession.

Referee was awful for BOTH sides.

Artell is correct. Some of our fans are clowns.

Deserved win for Crewe. Streetwise and saw the game out.

FACT!
