3-0 now. An absolutely stunning effort from Vale today. Luton obviously made changes to the lineup but even so against the league leaders this is really impressive.

We made a few changes but much has been made of how strong our squad is and it will be ready when called upon etc. Hasnt proven the case today. Have to say fair play to Vale, look to be a team on the up.

When Luton lose, we lose big.

Can't help feeling Jones has over thought himself on this one, he's been going on about how busy the Christmas period is for a while but really it's just been Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday with a Monday to come. That's not that different to a regular bit of the season. May well have lost anyway of course, you can't win them all and if Swindon can hang on then there's no harm done.

3!!!! Ben Whitfield... please don’t be a parting gift!

Thats my big fear right now, the way he has been playing am sure other clubs higher up will have paid attention. A repeat of the way we missed out on Alex Jones last year would be very disappointing.

I put a tenner on us winning, but still would have taken a point today before kick-off. I've been confident all week though that we'd compete, as when we're at it under Aspin we're a match for anyone in this league, Luton included.

I'll be buying a Chinese for the Mrs this evening instead of making her scrambled egg on toast.

Well thats not a bad end to the year is it. 4-0 win for Vale and the shit got gubbed 5-0 at Chelsea. Enjoy that one tonight.

Best of luck to Luton rest of the way, am sure today was just an abberation and will bounce back well next time out.

A solid win against the best team in the league. I think we can forget about relegation this season.

Nothing has really changed though at the top which is quite amazing. Perhaps it’s the Christmas period catching up with a few teams hence the surprise results?

Stunning result. Stunning performance... Must do everything to keep Whitfield. Pope back to his 2012/13 best. Aspin a legend as a player and proving as good a manager.

Wanted it more and over ran them. Could of been more than 4. Buzzing... great end to a dire year. We’ve deserved that.

Youd think so, bit of a let off for us today really although Lincoln on Monday is a big game which no one has really talked about becuase of all the Newcastle talk.

1st vs 3rd, us coming off the back of a hiding and them in some very good form, yet no one has been talking about because of Newcastle.

Awful defending from us for all the goals, we kept playing ourselves into trouble again and again by pissing around at the back. All four defenders plus Glen Rea had howlers and Stech was awful too. Fair play to Vale though, they were well on top all game. Pope back to his best too, they'l be a real force in the second half of the season on that evidence.

You’ll win the league, we’ve been improving week on week under Aspin and we’ve actually had some really good performances ... today was just that day where it all came together for once.

Bit of a kick in the teeth to end the year but that Swindon result is a nice lift.

Big game to bounce back on Monday, win that and can quickly forget about today.

Will wait and see for any official announcement but if true that is great news.

Now if Stoke could just give Hughes a contract extension that would just top it off....

Was our pitch apparently! Which we allegedly doctored... nothing to do with two games in quick succession after loads of rain and snow recently!

In fact we missed the odd chance due to bobbles! Pitch has been fine most of the season but can’t help the water it’s taken lately and you have to adapt to it, winter will have bad pitches so could prove costly if they can’t play on them!

Pitch was crap but it's the dead of winter in League 2. We better get used to it and adapt. Got done fair and square. Dissapointing but no complaints.

It is a little concerning that every couple of months we get hammered by organised teams that have a plan that we can't counteract.

Not sure who has said that, Nathan Jones literally said "we got beat fair and square".

I can concur with that - he didn't have many excuses if any at all and accepted Luton weren't good including gifting Vale of their goals.

Still least you were away to a team in form in the middle of a quick run of games....unlike us!

When we beat you at KR your manager was very complimentary about us and said the better team won. Not many managers do that so I can't believe he would make excuses about your loss today.

In all fairness it wasn’t the manager who was saying it on Twitter but it’s a tweet from some of their fans which the Vale fans are chuckling at. We’ve had to play on it twice in four days!

Pleasing to win like that with some key men not really playing, Worrall only came on late, Davis was at RB as Gibbons was still banned and Anderson wasn’t fit but had to come on for injured Mad Gav.

Oddly the carthorse Pugh seems to have been quality at left back covering and Kay and Tonge twice dominating midfield this week despite being 4000 years old.

Stunning December really with 13 points taken (and really should of beaten Colchester in the only game we dropped points with the chances we had). Considering the run looked awful and most of our own fans expected four to six points we’ve really pushed ourselves from a point from safety to eleven and out of apparent danger.

Expect with Luton and Col U dropping points it’s between Aspin and Cowley for MOTM...

Totally unexpected result especially the clean sheet. Luton blip reckon will still win the league at a canter.
From our point of view if only that useless twat Brown had been sacked 5 games sooner.
Luton fans.... clearly he is a top striker in this division but what a fucking arsehole hylton is...one massive fuck off ego.
