I wasn't replying to you. Unlike this post, which is a reply to you....hence me quoting your post.

Touchy !!

With it coming straight after my post it looked as though it was. I apologise.

I'm going for a 2-2 here. Seems both sides got lots of goals in them. Curtis returning for us is a big boost. Just hope Burgess' head is in the right place and is bound to take plenty of stick off the Boro fans as an ex-player for them who never cut it there.

Not sure Burgess will take stick...quite a few Posh fans were sorry to see him go. He was actually the one who forced a move.

What a great game. Peterborough are a handful, but we stood up and won most of our headers defensive and attacking. The best compete performance by us this season. Thoroughly deserved win for us. Bit nervy near the end tho! Dembele just doesn't get knocked off the ball, what a pain of a player to defend against. Our front three were excellent. Curtis again does what he does best. What a capture.

Didn't realise he was established with you when we signed him.

Didn't go to the game but by all accounts it seemed liked a fairly scrappy game, but Jackett is turning us into a hard to beat, fairly scrappy side at times, who are effective.

Well we were pretty awful yesterday, however that performance has been coming.

We resorted to long balls all game and the two centre backs for Portsmouth dealt with it really well.

I'm surprised the Portsmouth fan above said that was their best performance of the season as I didn't actually think you were that great. That's not sour grapes as I think you just about did enough to deserve the win, but the entire game was very scrappy with barely any decent football or clear cut chances.

I'm also surprised that you said we were 'a handful' as I thought we were pretty dire until the last 5 minutes of the game.

Anyhow, well done on the win and good luck for the rest of the season.

Sirike Dembele.

We got him from Grimsby in the summer. Grimsby fans weren't bothered about him leaving which is surprising as he has been fantastic in most games this season.

That was a great away day and I'm surprised how easy it was to contain Peterborough, who, as mentioned above, resorted to long balls for much of the game which was always going to be food and drink for our centre backs.

I think it was our most complete performance if not necessarily our best. I just hope Curtis isn't out for any period of time as he makes a difference to us and has been an absolute steal at £100,000 from Derry.

Now we're top of League One and the only unbeaten side left, so watch us lose to Wycombe on Saturday now!

I did mean complete team performance, as in every department was good. We've created more chances in other games and played better football in games. Defended every long ball well, won the 2nd balls, created some decent chances. Hawkins alone had 4 efforts. 2 were very good chances. Peterborough are a handful, you guys are relentless. Every free kick no matter where it was on the pitch was an attacking set piece. Every throw in was launched into the box. We got our tactics spot on, our match winners won the game with abit of quality. You lot seem to be very clinical, but we didnt give you many decent chances. In the end you almost sneaked a point. Lesser defences have already succumbed to your affective style.

Blimey...you are easily pleased !

Posh played the physical direct game as they have all season and Pompey stood up to it easily beat us at our own game with just that little bit of extra quality. It was hardly an advertisement for the quality of the league though !

Both teams are likely to be difficult to beat though all season as they can both mix it and mix it well....well done on your win, very much deserved. Also well done on your support. Good to see so many travel without any problems.

Thanks! Oh and thanks for Dembele as well!
You're welcome to him. He'll throw in the towel soon with all the pundits who have seen him twice tipping him for bigger things than Posh.
Apart from big Taff he has probably been our most consistent player. Probably just needed players around him who can regularly get the ball to actual feet.
Maybe. Or maybe it's because right now he can be arsed. Clearly has talent but also has a questionable attitude. Let's wait and see how he does when the chips are down. My prediction is that his performances will drop off a cliff. If not, then I'll gladly hold my hands up and admit I was wrong. I'll come back at the end of the season to see what you're saying.
How's this one working out then PoshinPretoria? Or any other Posh fans?

Just a regular season at Posh !

Fat Boy signed 18 players ( I think ) got rid of about 16.

Started the season on fire ( like always )

Start to slowly go off the rails when the clocks go back ( as always )

Catch a similar condition to S.A.D. sunlight affected disorder , but ours is called S*it After December ( as always )

Mid Winter , sack our manager ( as always ) have director of football banned for betting irregularities , have central defender banned for 4 years for drug offences , get rid of crazy Scotsman ( now at Luton ) who cost a reported £250 k in loan fees.

Appoint an interim manager ( as always ) one who knows the club , who then after a run of 6 defeats in 8 gets the job full time & with 3 year deal to bring stability to the club , until next January when he'll probably gets sacked & the merry go round starts again.

The strangest thing with this story is that somehow we are in the play offs in what is the poorest league 1 in many a year , but no doubt , we'll be here next season , would be lovely to get rid of Pompey & Sunderland , way too far to travel & hello Ipswich , Rotherham , Lincoln , Mansfield & the Fake Don's to name a few !

I was specifically meaning Dembele, but cheers for the response! :)

But yeah on that last point, I'm gagging to get up to L1 on and get in on all this South Yorks, Lincs, Derbyshire, etc. action. Can you at least give us Scunny for Lincoln and Stags? We're gonna be losing Notts as well. Our "local" game might end up being Northampton!

Siriki has been injured the last 2 months , came on in a 20 minute cameo role yesterday.

Fergie's eyes light up when he mentions his name.

He is still young , is raw , bags of talent & with the correct coaching could be the next big sale on the Posh production line.

His bad points are , he over does it , goes by 1 or 2 players 3 times rather than picking the correct pass / shot etc.
Defensive wise is his big weakness , unless you give him the sole role in the team the license to do nothing he is a liability in not helping the left back out in which some savvy teams worked out.
On his day he is superb , gets bums off seats , plays with a smile on his face & could be important for us in the run in.

I'll miss Glanford Park , only 2 hours from Pboro & think we're 8 undefeated away at Meadow Lane so will be a shame to see them relegated.

For Posh fans of a certain age we get one of our true derbies back in Lincoln next season the other Cobblers you mentioned earlier.

Do you lot still sing " we pi*s on your fish " , used to make me laugh that.

Good to hear he's playing with a smile on his face, as he got a bit sulky at times during his later months with us. Definitely agree that his main weakness is his defensive capabilities, but yeah can light up a game when he's on it.

And haha yeah "WE. PISS. ON. YOUR. FISH. Yess we dooooo!" still gets sung at most games.
