From last night:

Bury 2-3 Sunderland

Tutte and Reilly with our goals in the first half. Both sides made complete XI changes for the second half. Rodwell scored and some black lad got a brace for Sunderland.

Sent two teams to two local sides today with a mixture of first teamers and kids at both. Beat Parkway 3-1. (Carey x2 and Wylde) and then Saltash 2-0 (Lamieras and Grant)

Players obviously a bit rusty but a good run out to start.

Beat Barrow 2-1 with the last kick of the game. Not the best result or performance but not horrific.

Two completely different elevens each half. Mix of first team, youth, and a couple of trialists made up the two teams. Expect four or five new signings still to come.

Went to the St Albans v Peterborough game.

Was 4-1 to POSH when I left with about 5 to go..

Certainly Peterborough played with a lot of attacking threat considering the weather/first game of Pre-season maybe and 2 of their new strikers scored..

Will Bond be first choice in goal?

He will be first choice. I also went to St. Albans, I went to the bar just before half time to avoid the queue and ended up missing all 4 of our goals. :ffs:

Story of my life; i've been to Swindon twice, we've won twice scoring three goals and ive not seen any of them. I think I missed one whilst in the away bar watching the Grand National. :ffs:
I like a bet on the horses, but wtf watch the grand national, or any other sporting event, when you've spent god knows how much on going to watch your team play?!

Just like it pissed me off at Wembley for the play off final, every fucker was getting up to either go for a piss, food or beer. Just watch the game!!

I'd rather watch darts punditry or party political broadcasts than Posh half of the time.

We followed up last weekend's 3-0 win at Salisbury (Lalkovic, Davies, Close) with a 6-0 win at Havant & Waterlooville this weekend (o.g, Chaplin 3, Naismith, Main)

Opened up with a 5-0 win over Crumlin United over in Ireland last night.

The club streamed the game live on YouTube. Really impressed with some of the play/passing and some of the new signings, obviously can't get too excited when we had two different sides out for each half against a team of part timers.

Lovely to see Ricky on the scoresheet on the day he signed his new contract though :bg:

Seems to be a more positive atmosphere around Charlton these days? Do you think fans will start coming back to the Valley?

True, there does. To be fair to Robinson, and I have been critical of him myself but I do wonder if he has played a big part in that. We're signing the types of player we wouldn't normally under the Belgians, we've knocked back offers for Holmes and got him to sign a new and improved contract which also hasn't happened before. Robinson has said that he told the board that under no circumstances should Holmes be sold, so as I say I do wonder if he's the first manager to sort of stand up to them. From the all footage of the training camp in Ireland, there also looks like a spirit and togetherness amongst the players which we haven't seen for years, maybe Robinson needs to take credit for that too, appointing two Charlton men in Lee Bowyer and Johnnie Jackson onto his staff will also help to get fans on side.

On the flip side of it, there has been a lot of talk of Roland finally thinking about selling. Perhaps the goon has finally worked out that we are a far more attractive purchase when in The Championship and has finally decided to actually try and win promotion.

Of course, this is the Belgians. There is always room for scepticism. Whenever things look to be changing they go and do something to put paid to it.

As for fans going back to The Valley, probably. As it stands, I won't be but there is a lot of buzz about the season ahead and it's the nature of the beast that if we start doing well then a lot will return. We will see.

Beat Sunny Nunny 5-3. Conceded 2 penalties in 2 friendlies now which doesn't bode well.

Armthorpe 0 Donny 9, Mandeville 3, Coppinger 2, 1 each for Marquis, Williams, Rowe and Whiteman. Baudry pulled up in the warm up which was worrying but other than that a good workout

Just drawn 0-0 with Middlesbrough in Albufeira. Radio Oxford estimates anywhere between 500-700 Oxford fans there enjoying themselves.
