1-1 at HT away at Bristol City. Surprisingly, looking pretty good against a decent Championship side. Good going forward but shaky at the back a bit. Fir a friendly it’s competitive and very watchable.

2nd half with 6 trialists - supposed to be all City youth teamers - we fell apart to a 6-1 defeat. That first 45 minutes, though, we looked pretty damn good.

We fly off into the sun today, Spain apparently; two games while there. Not going myself, but I believe there are some making the effort.

6 City youth teamers? You looking at loaning a job lot of them or something?

I heard it was 2-2 up until the 70th min, we then made a load of changes which included youth and conceded three late-ish goals?

Aye. Apparently Doyle in goal too. Not sure if for the second half or the entirety.

Playing Coventry tonight. 3 down in half an hour, could easily have been more as well.

If you can't beat Dover, even with your second string, then you should really pack up and call it a day-- this pre season they've had three players sign for them and then decide to go somewhere else the very next day.

Exactly!

10-0 win tomorrow against Avenue and we’re to winning the league by Christmas again.

I’m particularly looking forward to the Hull and Middlesborough games.

Jamie Raynor seems to think we're gonna play mostly kids tomorrow. I think it was him or Parker who said that. Hope we put a decent side out though and batter them.

Me and my dad are off to the 'Borough game. Not actually been to a pre-season friendly since the 90s. Think it was Eccleshill. Only thing I remember is that Edinho walked past me!

Apparently we can have any 2 of our choice on loan.

Nigel Pearson’s son played the first half and looked pretty good - I’d take him. The others - no thanks.

Nigel Pearson’s son? James? I thought he'd jacked football in.

Finished 4-0. As expected a big gulf between the sides, although we did better once they put their kids on.

We’ve got another home friendly tomorrow v Everton u21’s.

Tranmere lost 2 nil to Rochdale in a BCD game.
Their first goal was a debatable penalty, which also saw Jordan Turnbull sent off.

We’ve 7 out injured at present, but not getting much encouragement from that result.

A youthful Crewe team beat Vauxhall Motors 2-1. Woodcock and Evans the scorers. 3 wins and a draw so far. Another decent league 1 test on Saturday when Lincoln visit us.

We beat our old friends AFC Farage 2-0. That’s four wins from four now, which must put us close to top of the table.

Won 2-0 at AFC Fylde with goals from Garner and Trialist E (who is probably one of our new B team prospective players.)
It's only the 2nd time we've ever beat Fylde... we got promoted after the other victory.

Who send a player off during a friendly? I bet the coaching staff were furious with that decision.

Lost 1-0 to York, played a very strong first 11 for 60 minutes and as soon as the entire side got changed, York scored. They also had a player sent off for 2 yellow cards, one for kicking lumps out of Sotona and the other for kicking lumps out of Roberts. 660 from Donny

We beat Telford 2-0, thrilling stuff. Wolves u23s captain Ollie Tipton played for us, presumably with a view to joining on loan.
