Predictions For Next Season

Crystal Palace to be relegated next season.

Yeah we're fucked next season imo. With the side we have, I'd feel safe with an adaptable manager, but brainbox will be here until it's too late. Oh well, championship football is more than welcome for my selfish POV, and the important thing was just staying up this season for the TV money coming in, will separate us from the rest of the football league.

Not sure about the Leicester and Burnley predictions though! Good luck tomorrow.

Aye. It's only a prediction which I am guessing will be nowhere near correct - I picked United to win the league ffs..

My reasoning behind this. I think Sam Allardyce could likely have a good year with Sunderland and make them difficult to beat. A resurgence not quite as huge as Leicester winning the league after surviving relegations, but still one none the less.

As for Leicester themselves. I would like to think they will go on and at least finish in the Champions League places once again but I believe that competition will prove to be their downfall in the end. They could struggle to cope with the fixture pile but I hope I am proved wrong though.

Looking at the predictions people seem fairly optimistic about our chances of staying up. Having initially shared that same optimism, my positivity is slowly ebbing away with every day that passes where Henri Lansbury remains our main transfer target.

I love how all but JoshBCFC seem to think Stoke will atrophy and drop down in the league, when we have been progressing year on year. I think we've got a genuinely good chance of top 8 next season. If we sign Witsel who will add the kind of steal that we lacked last season, and maybe a few others, we should be onto a real winner.

Can you imagine a few of the Arsenal fans faces when they see we've signed this guy?

They'll be throwing their half pint lager shandy's across the room.

I have no idea. Next season feels ridiculously unpredictable. Chelsea, us, United, Arsenal (XHAKA), City and probably even Tottenham are bang on to have a better season next year. Leicester I'm not so sure, first time in Europe tends to take its toll.

We finished the season so poorly once survival was secured, and we looked so shattered having achieved that, that I can't deny it's a worry ahead of next season.

It's clear that for some of our long term players who've been with us since L1, whilst they can perform up here on their day, over an entire season it's asking a lot.

So the big question is, can Howe move some of them on and blend new players in, without destroying the team ethic that we have, our one big advantage over some more mercenary clubs up here. It's a challenge.


I reckon Burnley will stay up with their second bite at it.
I reckon Palace are going to continue struggling and will be in danger.
I think Watford will have a worse season than last and will perhaps regret losing QSF.
Sunderland will be safe boring mid table.

Boringly reckon City will win it again under Guardiola. Fancy Liverpool to have a good season under Klopp and Spurs again with Pochettino. Think Chelsea will find like Liverpool and Man Utd before them that once you slip out of the CL places it can be very difficult to get back.

Didn't envisage having Leicester anywhere near as far down as 12th when starting this. Don't think they'll retain their title and can see them struggling to get a CL place again with being in Europe and the extra strain on the squad that will entail (though I fancy them to do well in it). But as I was going through I kept thinking of someone else, there's just so many teams you look at and can make a case for doing well. Completely forgot Chelsea at first, West Ham showing big ambition, Southampton with Koeman, Swansea looking back on track with Guidolin. Then there's Everton with big investment and a new manager coming in, and I can't see Stoke going backwards. It's fascinating. English top flight hasn't been as interesting since the Premier League's inception, and probably long before then. Makes this predicting stuff tricky though!

Bournemouth I can only see getting better next season under Howe with players like Wilson back available, and Sunderland with Allardyce might actually avoid a relegation battle for a change! Feeling like there's a big gap between them and Burnley in 15th in this prediction, can see the bottom 6 being cut adrift. Burnley I think will do better this time round, previous experience will help them while Andre Gray's a class act. Middlesbrough to struggle, their promotion was largely built on a rock-solid defence which won't be as effective up here. Whichever out of Hull and Sheff Weds makes it I reckon will just about scrape survival. Palace and Watford were in freefall in 2016 and I see that carrying over into next season.

So, what do y'all think?

Not too bad. Didn't see Chelsea coming but other than that, swap West Ham with Everton, Swansea with West Brom and Sunderland with Watford and it's about on the money.
