Premier League Player of the Season 15-16?

Pretty simple, who is your player of the season?

Obviously plenty of front runners like Payet, Mahrez, Vardy, but some less talked about names could be in contention. Drinkwater, De Gea, Ozil. Surely one or two of the Spurs team should be in there, Kane, Alli, Vertonghan, Lloris etc.

I'd imagine the consensus will be between Mahrez and Payet, but are there any other serious contenders?

Mahrez by a mile. Vardy, Payet and Kante all have a shout for second. Ozil had a shot at player of the season a few months ago but has gone off the boil as Arsenal have capitulated. Such a strange season, very few of the big names have been the best performers in the league. Hazard and Sanchez both having poor seasons was particularly surprising.

Payet has been fantastic but that injury robbed him of the chance to "do it over a whole season".

Vardy's goalscoring run was spectacular but I'd go with the majority and say Mahrez deserves the award.

Coutinho's making a living from scoring 3 or 4 wonder goals. He hits about 20 shots per game, most off target. I think Barkley is just a level or two up, has a brain and blistering acceleration.
