TCM have you ever considered just not biting? Some quite blatant wind-up attempts at times and yet every time you let yourself get worked up by it. Just leave the thread and don't press the post button, it's not fucking hard.

And tbf to Todd they are different scenarios - Oldham had nothing to play for whereas Preston are MK's direct rivals, it didn't affect the competition in the same way. Not that I care personally, I don't give a shit who goes up with us.

To be fair, we had to change the side about as much as you lot did today, only ours was enforced
Yeah but....zero fucks given as far as were concerned. All about the play offs.

Yesterday was a nothing game for us. If Cooper felt that it was best for our club to rest some key players for the PO's then fair fucks to him.
The fact that it probably means Franchise wont get the 2nd auto spot is an added bonus.

Franchise have had 44 other games this season to get more points than PNE - we gave you 6 of them FFS!

Anyway, apart from the Franchise customers and the odd (very odd in some cases) 82er who's obviously obsessed with us, who really gives a shit

We would have beaten Swindon at full strength anyway. Put your dummies back in Scrumpy and TTOCS.

Have to agree Tom, think on current form Preston would have beaten our 'first team anyway'.

Not quite sure why these 2 City fans are getting so uppity although backwards Scott is generally a bit of the end of a bell anyway so doesn't surprise me really.

All the best against Colchester on Sunday Tom, I'm heading there on Tuesday night to watch us lose to them, can't wait!

They get uppity because they have an unhealthy interest in anything to do with our club.

Since they achieved promotion, and TBH, before that, they dropped off my radar as they no longer had any relevance to our season.

Yeah, that's going to be great when Chesterfield turn you over in both semi-final legs

This is what I mean, karma!

I am just losing interest in the season, based on the fact that we just look really vulnerable at the moment, haven't played well really since January and the whole atmosphere just has a feel of 'we don't give a fuck' about it around the club at the moment. The fans might care but the players, management and ownership just seem a bit 'yeah well whatever'. These play-offs to me just seem like a complete waste of time for us and I have no hope whatsoever in us winning them. We're letting in goals for fun and we're not really scoring much either. Luongo is playing like he wants to be somewhere else, Byrne is irritating with his predictable cutting inside all the time and Williams can't hit a barn door with a banjo. We keep getting ripped a new one down the flanks and no one wants to cross the ball. I've said it before and I'll say it again, we need to get our players in form and be on a winning streak not resting them when they don't give a fuck it seems already. Great, lets rest them and still have them in shit form and make them give even less of a fuck than they already do! This season is just fizzling out into one great big disappointment!

Good post. Would you mind going and pointing these things out to the Swindon fans invading our boards or on Twitter claiming it's all part of some Cooper Masterplan?

The only master plan I'm seeing is 'keep us in league one, as the Championship might be too expensive for us'. Even though such thinking is illogical considering we would get more money in the Championship. I guess we're getting a glimpse of our team next season too. It just feels really bizarre this almost blase attitude. I could be wrong and maybe there is some great master plan, but I don't remember any other clubs basically throwing games before a play-off campaign. To be fair to my fellow Town fans they are simply defending their club against the accusations and crap of other fans. I won't knock them for that but I just see the whole situation differently. I couldn't give two shits about MK or Preston, why should I? But I do care about Swindon and I just think we are going about things totally the wrong way!

Your point of view will, or will not, be verified after the POs, not before.

If Franchise do end up in the POs they are without doubt the best of the 4 - but when did that guarantee winning them.

You have to take it for what it is - a fantastic season for us, come what may.

I will gladly hold my hands up and say 'great I was wrong' if I am but things just don't seem right at all in my opinion and I am not enjoying the end of the season as much as I should. I'm not feeling any buzz for the play-off either and perhaps this is due to the negative vibes I'm feeling from the club.

Your comment of 'its been a fantastic season for us, come what may', is the kind someone makes after they've been disappointed and want to make themselves feel better or when they are gearing themselves up for the worst. I remember a conversation on a Swindon forum I spotted a few years ago just after Di Canio left (I think we would have gone up that year too, if he had stayed. Albeit financially fucked) and it went something like this.

'Whatever happens we've had a great season after being promoted (from League Two) the season before'

Response, as best as I remember it.

'That's like getting Cheryl Cole into your bed, get her knickers off but premature before you get your pants down and saying 'never mind I almost got there'. The point was the opportunity was there and we should take it.

That response is my feeling, we have or had the opportunity and we should take it and if we miss out now I'm not going to turn around and go 'oh well never mind, we had a great season anyway', NO I'm going to be disappointed and feel we missed a glorious opportunity. This blase attitude just smacks of 'hey we had a good season and we entertained you, be happy with that', now lets sell our best players and start again. I'm fine with selling players but I just feel a bit let with how its all ending. Now yes I am sounding pessimistic and I hope that I AM WRONG in every way and will gladly hold my hands up if needs be and praise the Cooper/Power Master Plan, but at the moment these play-offs just seem like a way for us to put players in the shop window (when they actually come around), prepare the fans for the team next season (these last few games) and a bit of publicity rather than promotion to the Championship.

You're right though, we will see how it all pans out after the play-offs!

At the beginning of the season most Town fans were predicting either mid table or a dogfight at the bottom. We will end it with our best league position in 15 years. We've done that on a shoestring budget and by playing the loan market shrewdly. However the lottery of the play offs pan out, we have had a good season. I can't understand people who would rather focus on negatives.

There's going to be 3 'disappointed' clubs/fans after the playoffs - maybe Chesterfield not so much.

I was convinced pre season we would be in a relegation dogfight, yet up until January I was entertained by some of the best football I've seen from my team for many years. Sure it's been a bit shite these last couple of months, but look at Preston when they were without Garner, Franchise without Alli and Afobe and then us without Kasim, Luongo, Louis Thompson and our self inflicted suspensions.

We're the 4th best team in the league with an even money chance still of promotion - we should be proud.

Get yer head out of yer arse and strap yerself in for the POs!

We might, just might, do it yet!

I agree there are many positives to the season but we're in it to win it right? Yes we can be proud of what we have achieved and yes we have seen some of the best football since the Hoddle days in my opinion, but it just seems to be ending in a bit of a damp squib and as we all know the form team is the team that wins the play-offs, that's not us and we should have used these last games to pick up some much needed form. Players like Williams have decided to show their worst form of the season at the worst possible time. While I can see the positives I will still be disappointed if we miss out on promotion regardless of the relative success. If we win at Wembley I will run through the railway village naked and thrust my cock through the Glue Pot doors shouting 'I'm the Tsar!'. Don't worry I'll strap myself in for the play-offs but I ain't feeling confident at the moment!

Don't think you're right about the form team winning the POs.

We were just as shite before the POs in 93 which, as I'm sure you remember, ended rather well for us.

Yes well I also tried to console myself a few weeks back remembering that we were well beaten by Leicester twice that season and then beat them in the final, kind of similar to MK Donalds. But generally it is the form team that wins them if you look back through the years. We shall see, maybe the Cooper/Power master plan will work and we play our early season form for these last '3'? games but we've still been too sketchy and inconsistent for me to be confident in the play-offs.

I'm hoping we can put in a performance like Bristol City did at Bradford. 4-0 up by HT would be lovely so we could have a party.

I hope Grayson sits them down this week at some point and makes them sit through the 90 minutes of our trip to Crewe on the final day last season.

Colchester surviving on the final day... wouldn't be the first time. I think Franchise might sneak it

Would only be the second time in nearly 20 years to be fair.

Or ideally a 93rd minute winner..

You'd be a nervous wreck by the end of it
