Chesterfield would of beat us 2-1

So I'm glad we've slipped through the net, I honestly wouldn't mind seeing them come up as they beat us fair and square.

Should be a good game. 1-1 prediction.

Not going to this, not going on Sunday, not maybe going Wembley.

Had a bet with my mate about 2 months ago we'd finish third after fucking up on the last day. Also stated we'd beat Sheff Utd in the final. I was pissed at the time of writing, but I'm a man of my word and said I won't go if we fail to go up automatically. So I've got to watch the shit on Sky Sports 5, with some crap pundits who probably get half of the names wrong.

Anyway, Grayson has apparently said, and I quote: 'It is important for us to still be in the tie come Sunday'.
Really? Really? Really? We finished over 20 points in front of them, and it's important to still be in the tie?
Not saying sack Grayson, but if it's true, and we lose to Chesterfield over 2 legs, he could well be getting his p45 come Monday.

Good to see the fans backing the boys :ffs:

We have a play off semi final to win tomorrow we don't need this negative shite first thing on a Wednesday morning :dk::doh::doh:

Negative is Preston North End.
Negative taking a 1-0 lead.
Negative going to a team in the bottom 3 and you have to win the game.
Negative playing a second leg of the area final 2-0 down, starting with one striker, and not having a shot till the 89th minute.

Can't blame the fans really, can you?

Nice gesture from a Brizzle supporter on our forum.

Nothing but praise for City fans from me this season, a really likeable bunch ,even though there are so many of them.

Love it how he refers to us as Town. A City supporter gets it, yet it baffles the likes of Rotherham and Mansfield fans why we call ourselves Town.

He used to live locally and watch us before moving back to Bristol so understandable that he'd know better than non-locals.

Pity this isn't the final or better still Preston had completed the job on Sunday as I would have preferred both of you to follow us up to the championship.

As it is I feel Chesterfield will be in the best frame of mind to progress.

Good luck to both teams.

What are the boxes and the hospitality set up at Deepdale like?

Fortunate enough to have been offered three tickets in one for Sunday by a Chesterfield fan who has paid for one for the day.

There's 3 chairs in every room , a selection of the finest brand name cereals and a kitkat on each chair.

Is it a box or just hospitality. Which stand?

It's a ten person box as advertised on your site for £500+ VAT for the game.

As a mere pleb, and a man of the people, I've managed to avoid any sort of sporting hospitality apart from horse racing before.

I had matchday hospitality in the Invincibles Lounge once. It wasn't a private box. Food was good, bar service was fast. If you can stay in the box to watch the game you'll be fine,
but if you need to sit in the Invincibles then you'll really need to sit on your hands.

I've only ever done hospitality but you walk past them on the way to stand and they're pretty smart.

You've basically got a good view of the pitch, a decent spread put on and Sky Sports on. I'm not 100% but I think i've been told that you can bring your own beer in with you.

Pretty much how i've felt up until this morning really, I'll be watching on TV tomorrow night but I will be attending the home game (pretty relucantly). At the moment I think fuck Wembley but if we've progressed over two legs then i'm pretty sure i'll be on the band wagon.

As for Grayson, he's always going to be a dour, Yorkshire bastard with the motivational skills of an obese, manic despressive but surely, by fucking Christ he's got to learn from these Rotherham, Walsall and Colchester mistakes at some point. He must have done something out of the ordinary to get that bag of shit club on the Fylde Coast promoted.

I'll be at Wembley as well, but for now I'm enjoying telling people I'm not really bothered.
Couldn't have put it better about Grayson.

You enjoy making people think you're a fair-weather fan?

I don't understand this reaction, it's pathetic quite frankly. Sure, we fucked it up, as we always do, but that's football. If you want to watch your team win every week fuck off and support Chelsea.

No but I expect the manager to have his players fired up for a massive game. Especially with the budget, and quality at his disposal.
Time and time again we seem to go missing at the big occasion, and that's happened a fair lot under Grayson.

Now, do you praise him for getting us in that situation, or question why we bottle it every time?

We've gone missing in the big games for as long as I can remember! I agree Colchester were more up for it, which shouldn't have been the case, but I think sometimes you have to look at the players. Too many times our key players go missing in the games we need them most. Gallagher was fucking atrocious on Sunday, as was Johnson. Humphrey has been getting a lot of stick (unwarranted, imo) but he was the only player who looked like creating anything.

I don't by any means think Grayson is perfect, he makes a lot of strange decisions that I don't understand, but that is why he is manager and I am a fan. You only have to look at his record to say he has done a very good job and a lot of our fans seem very quick to jump on his back whenever something goes wrong. After the last few managers we've had, I'd of thought we would have learnt our lesson in regards to jumping the gun.

Has Robinson gone back to Villa now? have to say, after his recent performances, i'm not fussed. I like him but I don't think he has the bollocks for the play-offs.

I'm probably on my own here but I wouldn't mind throwing in Kyel Reid as a bit of a wildcard, a bit of unpredictability and directness is exactly what we were missing on Sunday. Would be a gamble as he hasn't pulled up trees and has been out of the side for a while but he's shown enough to tell me has some quality in his locker.

I'd agree with this. I like Robinson but he has appeared out of his depth last couple of weeks.

If you are up for the game physically I think you'll be too strong. Our weakness is defending set pieces and if Evatt is isolated 1 on 1 we could be in bother.

Put it this way, I think we will need to be very close to our absolute best over two legs to win. You should have much more room for manoeuvre.

We haven't faced Gary Roberts in the two games this season and that worries me, very good player.

He is indeed. Our record with him is considerably better than without him.

Looking forward to this now. Just a few hours of work in the way now and a couple of hours in the boozer.

My feelings exact.
Possibly because it's the first leg and nothing is won or lost here, but I'm just not bothered.

I reckon this has 1-1 written all over it. Probably us scoring first and Chesterfield equalising in the last 10.

We almost certainly won't score more than 2, so Chesterield will still be in the tie come Sunday.

Ditto, even if we progress, the thought of Wembley annoys me more than excites me.

I for one am looking forward to tonight, even though the whores from Portsmouth seem to have put a bit of a dampener on what has been one of our best seasons in recent history.

Could really go either way, don't know too much about preston apart from Joe Garner, Daniel Johnson, and of course arr' Kev.

We're going to be relying on Roberts to create everything for us, which he is certainly more than capable of doing, I'll go with a 1-1 with Clucas getting ours.
