Not nice fixtures for Preston, Sheffield Wednesday’s remaining games look a bit of a minefield too.

I was predicting ‘Boro slipping out of the play-offs but they seem to have the nicest set so reckon they may just cling onto 6th with Villa finishing 5th and winning the lot.

Based on fixtures alone, I’d say Forest are the most likely to gatecrash the play-offs and we can pretty much rule Bristol City out at this point, tough set of fixtures that you wouldn’t want in any run-in let alone when you’ve just hit a slump in form.

To be honest, i'd rather play the better teams at Deepdale, ones who will hopefully come at us like Norwich and Brentford did.

Could do with Preston,Wednesday and villa all picking points up off Leeds, I think they'll win the other 5 against wall,brum,ipswich,Wigan and brentford. Then we need to better that, decided Norwich aren't getting caught, other than boro up next think they'll win every remaining game until villa last match.

Would have said the same about Norwich, Boro, Bristol City, Forest, Derby & Birmingham to be honest who we've played in our last 9. Hopefully the return of Robinson & Moult means we can kill teams off at home a bit more.

Our run-in looks like this:

AWAY vs Middlesbrough
HOME vs QPR
HOME vs Reading
AWAY vs Wigan
HOME vs Wednesday
AWAY vs Stoke
HOME vs Blackburn
AWAY vs Villa

So if we can get through that Middlesbrough game with at least a point (but hopefully all three considering their dismal recent form), it's very much in our hands to finish in the top 2, especially as both Leeds and Sheffield United have less generous run-ins than we do (if Alex Neil could have Preston do us some favours against those two, that would be great).

Either way, it would be good to have it sorted before that game against Villa, as they'll give us a really tough game at their place, especially if they're still in the play-off hunt.

Well, two defeats out of two since then, and it's probably a bridge too far again now even if we won the rest of our games.

Honestly, I'm just glad we've still got something to play for. Was worried our season would just peter out like Blackburn's has, at least the last 8 games should be interesting.

Fancy us to win at Reading and then it's Blades (H), Leeds (H) and West Brom (A). If we get through those 3 fixtures with 5 to 7 points then we've got a great chance.

Unbelievable that we can't expect a professional player to go eight games without picking up three bookings. The fact he was booked at Boro for gobbing off is pathetic.

I'm not sure, you would hope so.

It's getting to the point where if we're comfortable in a game after an hour and he hasn't been booked, that we might have to start taking him off to save him/us.

Worth a bet though isnt it , Norwich are champions and sheff utd runners up leeds wba and 2 others in play offs ,just hope its not boro because 2 anti football teams going up would would be crap .

You need to be able to do both imo to be successful at this level, brentford knock it around better than anyone but it's just 1 gameplan and that's it, times you have to grind it out.

He’s talking shite, Sheffield Utd are the only side to have more of the ball in a game than Leeds this season. You’re probably the best side to watch in the league when you’re on it, Leeds are very effective and street wise, it’s been noticeable in the three games live I’ve watched them in how good their game management is.
