Now I don't expect to trouble the play offs this season like most Roves fans won't, but i certainly don't think the next ten fixtures are awful.
Now if your fellow Wigan fan thinks those next ten fixtures are awful it's because hes viewing them as a Wigan fan.
Romped the L1 title, I thought you won it on the last day of the season, congrats anyway.

I personally don’t think any fixture is “awful” in this league. Yes some are very much harder than others especially once the table begins to properly take shape but anyone can beat anyone. I think we’ve proved that more than any team over the last five days, turning Stoke over on their own patch before getting done by QPR.

In regardless to Rovers I think you’re a very good team and will be closer to the top than the bottom. Just like last season we are both very similar in terms of quality of squad and I predict us both to ultimately end up very close to each other in May once again.

As for the hot dinners well, we have had an extended heatwave..

Yep I would agree, we're very similar quality wise and would gladly share a playoff place with you come May.
Just can't see it and think mid table or slightly higher would be good progress for both our teams.

As far as an awful run of fixtures can go in this divison I'd definitely say that's it. You play the 3 newly relegated sides. 3 of the biggest spenders and a bang in form Leeds side. Bolton away is your easiest fixture and is a derby game. So I'd say you've probably got the hardest set of next 10 fixtures in the division. If you're still top 6 after then, then fair play.

I think we can go up but we're asking Potter to do it with one hand behind his back. Frustrating really because I think he's shown that if he was provided with just a little backing he'd romp this league quite easily - only four games in but indications are he's the highest level of tactician we've had.

Given your lack of strikers and knowing McBurnie has been carrying the injury for a while should another striker not have been a priority, even if it was a lesser player? Given your 23's strikers would be useless at this level there's no one from below to step up. Therefore not having to bring non strikers to replace him.

We are in times of austerity - there is nothing in the kitty for a spare striker. We have Bony though who if he can get fit, big if, will kill this division.

Nice to be paying Bony £120,000 a week while you're at it. You spent over £7m in the summer, so there was some money to bring guys in, we got Weimann for £2m for example. You took off Asoro in our game, if McBurnie was struggling seems strange to take off your alternate option. You had a 23's striker on the bench, shows the level of belief you have there.

Slightly different though when it comes to weiman. His favoured position is through the middle, which is where he played for villa in the prem, and did well. Since then he’s been stuck out wide which will obviously affect a players stats playing in his unflavoured position. Now he’s playing in his preferred position again he’s scoring.

It’s not uncommon for a player to be shit at one club and good at others.

I never said anything about available capital - but clearly you either don't have enough money on hand, or you can't borrow the money you need to because your current liabilities are too high, or you're too close to FFP so can't spend any more money. We know one or more of those must be true, because Swansea are bidding on players, but can't complete them because they can't afford it - pretty f***ing obviously, what that means is they need to sell before they can buy!

Imo Clarke didn't tear us apart. He was just on hand to finish the openings.
I have to admit your other outfield players tore us apart. Especially Brookes and your midfield.
Still really don't rate Clarke despite last seasons goal tally, and yes while I wouldn't say he tore us, him scoring twice (especially for you) at our place does still give me nightmares.
Not bitter though, although it was a shitty day for us, it was fully deserved on day.
Besides which I'm lost no idea what I'm doing on the promotion thread!
