I thought we were poor yesterday, any of the top 6 away would have beaten us

luckily we played Bolton

Just had a look at the fixtures you have villa, forest, derby,Norwich, stoke,Boro all in the next 9 fixtures, you've opened up a handy little gap and if you are still top after those , you should have a superb chance this year, personally I think you may do it.

Is it just me or is the Championship even tighter than normal this season? I appreciate the top 2 have pulled out a nice gap but even down to ourselves in 14th and PNE in 15th, the gap to the play off's is only 6 and 8 points. It seems much tighter this season than in previous years.
Last year after 25/26 games (openly stolen from our forum).

We will beat Leeds on Sunday.
Free hit for us really off the back of five wins and what I'd like to think as 4-6 points from Hull and Blackburn at home afterwards.

Would take a point but top two at Christmas regardless is a nice position to be in.

You’re due another loss, and we could do with getting 3 points, although we can’t moan if we get a draw as you are a good team, but already dropped points last two games.

We keep getting unexpected wins, which makes me look up and not down. That is scary as I keep thinking maybe we could sneak the play offs ... and then be even more disappointed when Ipswich beat us on Boxing Day.

Leeds winning their last 2 games in the last minute is huge. Sign of a promotion winning team.

Fair play to Leeds if they go up.

Would be a good addition to the PL. Big club, hopefully replacing one of the dross like Watford, Bournemouth, Fulham, Cardiff, Brighton, Palace, Huddersfield and Burnley. (I say that with the greatest of respect to those clubs, who are there on merit.)

Maybe if they have to face the play-offs they'll turn up in the final rather than be scared lifeless by a few fireworks and opposition players shouting in the tunnel..

Don't think Leeds have really recovered since now maybe .

Sky will certainly love it all!

Leeds getting promoted will be a pretty big deal Tbf. The media will be all over it, and their fans will love every moment of every game. A whole generation of their support don’t know what it’s like to be in the top league. Big game for a few clubs in the prem. They might not play a part in the honours, but it will be a good away day for a few clubs, and a few clubs will be looking out for that fixture. They ain’t there yet though.

Not sure I agree with that anymore. Man United fans will obviously look for it but who else and why?

They aren’t the force they were back in the early 00s and they will likely knock about in mid table/bottom half like most promoted clubs. The likes of Liverpool and Arsenal won’t look at this game like they would have done 20 years ago when they were all challenging for the same things and the smaller clubs have already played them plenty in The Championship/L1.

Like you said about Leeds having a generation of fans not knowing them being in the top division, same is true for the supporters of the other PL clubs, they won’t look at Leeds as anything other than being a new side promoted.

I agree they’ll be good value in the PL though.

Their owner will be gutted that he can't fleece away fans if they go up.

Their fans bring an edge to games, and Elland Road will be a very tough place for any team. It’s all about opinions, but Leeds is still a game fans look out for, although we’ve never had any kind of rivalry with them. In their pomp we nearly went bump and in the lower leagues.

I agree their fans would bring an edge and will sell out all away allocations but I don’t think they are the pull they once were, fans won’t be clambering over each other to get tickets for the Leeds game.

We’re in League One and a game against Leeds doesn’t interest me, played them a fair few times in recent years - winning most of them, same for a lot of the sides currently in the PL.

While it’ll hit us financially to lose Leeds as they’re a guaranteed away sell out, they can kindly piss off as far as I’m concerned. Away ticket prices are a joke and I’ve seen us play Leeds three times since we dropped out the Prem and they’ve beaten us each time.

Villa are the new Leeds in my eyes in terms of a proper big club stuck down here for a long time. Hopefully the current bottom three of the Prem go down, all three good away days. The likes of Bournemouth, Watford and Brighton can stay in the Prem forever whilst we’re not there.
