I'd be surprised if any team went unbeaten in the last few games. Always some strange results thrown up at this time of year.

FGR and Exeter have only lost 5 and 6 games respectively all season. So it's not implausible that one of us goes 9 games unbeaten.

Its difficult this point because you get those freak results, teams fighting for survival so games that you think are bankers on paper throw a spanner in the works.

To make the play offs we probably need 11/12 points maximum so I would be hugely disappointed if we didn't get that with how we are playing from 8 games but we will see!

We've only lost 9. 4 of those were daylight robbery against Salford, Oldham Colchester and Sutton. Plus we had ten men against Northampton and Swindon. Didn't deserve to lose to Rochdale and Walsall game was a 0-0 all over. We lost late at Newport due to being in the middle of a spell with no fit forward players and we were knackered. We haven't been outplayed for 90 mins all season by anyone and we've played Accrington, Burton, Sunderland, Bolton, Rotherham and Brentford too.

I just hate us in end of season games. We usually get twatted by someone. Plenty of heavy defeats in April over the years. With how we're playing though, we want shooting if we don't secure the top 7 now. It's in our hands.

Still fancy Exeter to hold onto 2nd. FGR will probably only win the title by about 5 points which is poor given where they were. Fancy it to be between us, Mansfield, Northampton and Bristol Rovers for 3rd. Swindon to get 7th. Don't rate Newport or Tranmere at all so they'll miss out.

I'd fancy our chances of going unbeaten if we weren't playing Northampton. One of only 2 teams to beat us at home this year, and our general record against them is atrocious.

Given how solid our defence is and how gun-shy our strikers are, I think that if anything it would be draws that cost us rather than losses.

Plenty of games before that. Newport won't be easy, then there's Tranmere..

I’d imagine he knows a bit more than you seeing Bolton were in L2 last season and L1 this season. Your recent experience has been non league and L2.

Cup games have zero relevance when it comes to judging league games.
We were in L1 more recently than non league so not sure what the relevance of that is.

Regarding the talent of L1 can hardly be based on what Masi thinks. I'll stick to my opinions based on the players I've seen myself that are currently playing there, and the fact that our players, unlike yours, go up the leagues and not down the leagues.

True, but I reckon draws are achievable there. If Northampton were any other team in the top 10 I'd predict a draw as well, but there's just something about them that doesn't sit well with us.

When we got promoted from the conference we had back to back promotions. We were in league one between 2009-2012. Came a point outside the play offs before having to let all our assets go due to financial woes. Hence why I've been trying for months now to explain why it's different now but it doesn't appear to be getting into your head. I didn't realise how such simple information could be so problematic to process. But I've given up trying now so yes you're right. We will bounce about in the conference and L2 forever more. We have no conveyor belt of talent. We will have to sell our best players to pay for inflated wages that replace them. Bla bla bla

My mistake. Completely forgot that there are 3 Rovers. My prediction in order of finishing position is FGR (92), Exeter (86), Mansfield (83), Swindon (77), Vale (76), Cobblers (74), Newport (74), Gas (74), Tranmere (73), Salford (73) & Sutton (72)
I ,ll take that

Certainly feasible but as others have said, it's a funny time of year where those at the bottom and even those who have nothing to play for spring a surprise result. The beginning and the end of season are always difficult to predict from a betting perspective.

Wouldn't surprise me if we got beat at Barrow on Saturday but then beat Oldham, Newport and Bristol Rovers at home.

Because what you state aren’t facts. It’s your supposition and wishful thinking. You have no more idea of whether your Academy is going to continue producing or not than I do. You don’t know who your next few managers will be. You don’t know for sure you’ll be promoted this season, ffs.

You’re a fantasist, extrapolating what you think will happen into hard and fast facts. I’m not even sure you’re not Masi!

80 points will be enough for 3rd spot on goal diff I reckon.
With our superior goal difference, that would mean 5 wins and 2 draws (or 6 wins) out of our remaining 8. Not impossible but with our remaining fixtures, that looks tough.

I think all teams in this position would settle for playoffs, with automatic promotion a huge bonus.

Feels like the week that makes or break your season? Massive 7 days coming up.

Aye, pretty much.

Like if we win tonight and saturday we’re 2 clear of northampton with 2 games in hand.

Alternatively lose both and we’re 7 behind with 2 games in hand and then FG away.

Like with anyone vying for the top 3/playoffs it can either take off or fall apart very quickly

Can't believe Salford are still potentially in the mix. They absolutely robbed us at vale and looked terrible. I also saw them on TV and they were awful. We're playing them next Tuesday night and I had that down as a potential 3 points....not so sure now.

why bring me into this.......I have a wealth of football knowledge....In fact i told you at the beginning of last season we would be swapping places. you like many more mocked me, but hey ho
Those are not fantasy predictions but hard facts that we would attract Quality players who would get us out of lge2 and you had lost your best two players in Doyle and Yates aligned that you also had a manager who could not see how good a player Scot Twine was

Why can it not i have seen players from lge 2 right up to world cup winners. I will let you on in a fact. Not one of your Academy team would get into the Bolton team today. Man for man your team is vastly inferior to the Bolton team yet we are not good enough to finish in the top 6. Exeter if/when promoted will do well to finish out of the relegation places.

This guy has some interesting views on the promotion race. Obviously question his logic on predicting us 5th, but I'm sure Mansfield fans might have a thing or two to say...

I'm sure you would! Interesting that your 1 defeat in 15 with 7 wins is an incredible achievement, but our 1 defeat in 15 with 10 wins is not worth mentioning.

Probably a bristol rovers fan, apparently we aren’t a threat:lol:

If some random bloke has taken the time to do all that fair enough to him, i’d like to say i had time but i’ve work and a social life.
