Thanks to Shoddy for putting the fact about Jolley on record.

He had sex with a girl he met at an over-18's nightclub only to later discover she was actually only 16. It was only when Jolley reported the attack Shoddy mentions, that this came to light. As Shoddy has said, he has since been removed from the sex offenders register and has been cleared to work with young people.

It’s something they wouldn’t have a problem with in Scunthorpe. They all shag their own family so know exactly how old they are.

Cookie is a better finisher then Norwood so as long as Mansfield play to his strengths he will be head and shoulders above anyone else in the goalscoring charts . ( Morgan ferrier second)

Mansfield, swindle and Salford will go up with Bradford in the playoffs.

Morecambe and sunny scunny will go down.

Fgr will win the worst kit I've seen for years award .

Cannot do others sorry

To answer my own questions:

Key player - Nicky Law as he was amazing last season and expect the same amount of consistency again. His goals and assists will be crucial

Signing you’re most excited about - Nicky Ajose. We’ve lacked a poacher type striker for a while and if he’s up for it will be a top signing for us.

The player you expect to step up this season - Randell Williams. Signed in January with rave reviews from Wycombe fans where he’d been loaned to previously. He took time to settle but come April started to look great. Can play either flank and is bloody quick, with good feet.

Fixture you’re most looking forward to - Argyle at home, although I am away that day so can’t go...Also looking forward to Orient away on the final game.

Who will go up - Bradford, Plymouth, Mansfield and us :woot:

Who will go down - Macclesfield and if Carlisle if they don’t sort their squad out

League 2 top scorer - Aaron Collins at FGR

Prediction where your team will finish - 5th, promoted via the playoffs

Remember Hayden White being on our bench at Millwall, sat next to his dad who was bursting with pride, left for Bolton as he thought it was better for his progress.

Can't believe he's only 24.

As The Shrimps are turning into a team of Rovers old boys, can’t agree that they’ll go down.

Was doing really well for us on loan, even if he did pick up about three straight reds in a dozen games. Sadly then injured and back to Bolton

He was absolutely brilliant last season until his ankle got snapped at Colchester that is, brilliant at RWB and CB in a three - he’s a bit of a freak athlete to be honest, I always say he could win the grand national.

Major reason our form downturned was his injury.

Key player - Adam Collin - our goalkeeper is going to have to have some superb games with the lack of quality he’ll have in the 10 players in front of him. Hope he likes a challenge.

Signing you’re most excited about - my god this is a hard question. Christie Elliott probably, sounds like he’s an athletic attacking right back, something we’ve lacked for years! Whether he’s any good is another question. If we ever actually sign a striker of some sort then maybe him.

The player you expect to step up this season - no one to be honest. Expecting one of those seasons.

Fixture you’re most looking forward to - First game of the season. Always look forward to that one most, even though we never ever ever win it. And with it likely being our last season in the football league I intend to appreciate being here while it lasts.

Who will go up - Bradford, Exeter, Colchester (Plymouth playoffs)
Said Orient in the table prediction thread, but what’s since changed my mind due to players other teams have signed etc.

Who will go down - Carlisle and Macclesfield

League 2 top scorer - James Vaughan

Prediction where your team will finish - 24th

Key player - George Dobson

Signing you’re most excited about - None really, if I had to pick then James Clarke

The player you expect to step up this season - Josh Gordon, picked up to be one of our best players towards the end of last season and kept Andy Cook out of the team for a while until we had to play them together to try and get more goals. I reckon/hope he will get 10+ goals this season.

Fixture you’re most looking forward to - Vale away

Who will go up - Bradford, Scunthorpe, Northampton and Swindon

Who will go down - No bloody idea

League 2 top scorer - Lee Novak

Prediction where your team will finish - 10th

Key player - i will go for Charlie Kirk. He's another year older. He got double figures in goals and assists last season and the onus will be on him to go and do it again.

Signing you’re most excited about - Daniel Powell, not a typical Crewe type signing. He's a good age, and decent pedigree. Like Kirk he will be under pressure to chip in with goals

The player you expect to step up this season - Will Jaaskelainen, probably abit harsh as he's only young and very inexperienced. But if we're to have a decent season I feel it will be alot down to how this lad adapts to playing week in week out at this level. Sink or swim time.

Fixture you’re most looking forward to - probably Macc away. It was a great day last season, despite the last second sting in the tail, hopefully we complete the job this time round.

Who will go up - Plymouth, Scunthorpe, Mansfield, Northampton

Who will go down - Macclesfield and Cambridge

League 2 top scorer - Ajose

Prediction where your team will finish - 9th

Key player - Got to be Danny Mayor - Genuinly beleive that if he settles in the westcountry, he can single handidly get us over the line this season.
That’s a lot of pressure on Mayor. He may be a brilliant player but you’ll need more than him to get you up as no one can single handedly get a team promoted. Last season he had the likes of Maynard, O’Shea and Adams all contributing massively.

If Lowe recruits well then you should go up (which is why I’ve predicted you will) but still a lot of work for you to do.

Key player - Josh Coulson. Organises the defence and chips in with goals from set pieces. Vital knowhow in an otherwise-inexperienced back line.

Signing you’re most excited about - Very happy with Conor Wilkinson. Big left-footed target man who impressed me last season. A little difficult to be actively excited after flogging Macaulay Bonne and Josh Koroma.

The player you expect to step up this season - Josh Wright. He’s got unfinished business with us and had a nightmare at Bradford last season. Needs to get his arse in gear or risk finishing his career at Billericay.

Fixture you’re most looking forward to - We’ve never played Forest Green before so I suppose that’ll be a novelty. Thin pickings in terms of rivalries for us.

Who will go up - Not us.

Who will go down - Be nice to see Stevenage vanquished back from whence they came. Carlisle look like this year’s basket case proper club.

League 2 top scorer - Bas Savage or Andy Cook.

Prediction where your team will finish - 19th.

A few predicting Vale might go down. Although I don't think we'll be troubling the top of the table, I feel like we have signed enough to keep us out of trouble. I'd be surprised if we were one of the two worst teams.

I guess people are looking at last year, but the club was being run into the ground with chancers as signings. There is a massive optimism around the place now , more season tickets being bought and a couple of signings with a bit of pedigree. That's got to be worth a few points.

Bas Savage! Remember having him on trial back in 05-06, he stood out as easily one of our best players during pre-season, despite his career goalscoring record being less then impressive, what with having never scored. which maybe said something about our squad at the time. Was gutted we couldn't afford to sign him and got Zema Abbey instead.

You can never say never as Notts County and Chesterfield have proven but we've improved our squad and options from last year, got rid of the rumoured issues in the dressing room and have a manager and chairman working for the club. Players from last year will actually be utilised properly and have the fitness levels we saw once Askey has been in a few weeks from the start so think we will be more than comfortable... i'd be extremely surprised if we struggle... but can never rule it out in football!

It seems Askey is keen on fitness, something which I feel we have lacked since Micky Adams. A superior level of fitness has got to be worth a few points.

Like you say, I'd be amazed if we were near the bottom two come the season end, but I bet that's what Notts County thought.

Key player - Law. Too good for this division

Signing you’re most excited about - I'm going to say Ajose as others seem to think he's going to fit right in and I'm curious, but reckon Noah Smerdon might turn out to be the pick of the bunch

The player you expect to step up this season - Randall. Fringe youth player. Hearing great things about him

Fixture you’re most looking forward to - I will be out of the country for the entire season, but Plymouth away has always been the one above all others

Who will go up - Bradford, Swindon, Exeter, Scunthorpe

Who will go down - Not sure, I suppose I have to say Macclesfield what with all the issues

League 2 top scorer - Ryan Bowman (an improved Exeter squad to line them up for him)

Prediction where your team will finish - 3rd

Key player - CJ Hamilton. We look like holding onto him despite interest, and hopefully he can keep improving now we have a manager who won't play him at right wing back every other game.

Signing you’re most excited about - Cook. Been a while since we had a striker who could score a header.

The player you expect to step up this season - Hopefully Otis Khan, as he started well last year and then drifted out of the team.

Fixture you’re most looking forward to - Bradford away as I have never visited their ground and we will probably take a decent following (assuming the season is going ok).

Who will go up - Bradford, Plymouth, Swindon. Scunny in the playoffs.

Who will go down - Macc and Exeter.

League 2 top scorer - Not a clue. If Plymouth play like Bury did last season, probably one of their players.

Prediction where your team will finish - Playoffs.

I did! Aside from the obvious Macc (hope I am wrong), it could be anyone really, ourselves included and who would have predicted Chesterfield or County the last 2 years? I just feel that any team saying one of their key signings is Ajose could be in for a struggle. They will probably storm the league with 90+ points now!

Even if Ajose is useless we will be mid table. Remember we signed Jonno Forte last season and he didnt even play for most of the year. I cant even remember if he scored a single goal? Teams are not decided by 1 single player. I dont think we will go up automatically but equally we would have to do something drastically wrong to get relegated. Maybe if the entire squad died in a plane crash or something.

So, with less than 1 month till the season starts, I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on the following questions heading into 19/20....

Key player -

Scott Brown. Our best performer last season in between the sticks and breeds confidence in front of him. Our defensive record was decent last year given we were a poor side so happy that he is still here as the bedrock of that success.

Signing you’re most excited about -

David Amoo. We scored 39 in 46 league games last season as we struggled to 'feed the Pope'. Amoo should go someway to solving our issue with lack of pace.

The player you expect to step up this season -

Manny Oyeleke. Showed glimpses of brilliance last season but was too often injured. We were a totally different team with him in the side and if he stays fit for most of the season he can be a game changer.

Fixture you’re most looking forward to -

First home game versus Northampton. For some reason, we always get more home fans through the gate, usually a decent atmosphere and it'll be nice to step back into the ground to start the post-Scumthwaite era.

Who will go up -

Salford should make the top 7. Plymouth too. Crewe and Crawley may be dark horses.

Who will go down -

There's no obvious basketcase clubs for Macclesfield to take advantage of and with the financial cloud hanging over them, it's difficult to see anything other than another struggle. Cambridge look like they're weaker than last season so could struggletoo, which is a shame because their kits are tremendous. I also feel like Orient could find the transition more difficult than they think - with the tragic death of Edinburgh it may be the case that the momentum is lost and I don't think they've got too much quality.

League 2 top scorer -

Nicky Maynard should score plenty for Mansfield if he stays fit.

Prediction where your team will finish -

11th - which would be a huge improvement on previous seasons.

Key player - Chris Lines

Signing you’re most excited about - Nicky Adams - great to have him back and to actually have a winger worthy of the name!

The player you expect to step up this season - Junior Morias. He didn't get much game time last year due to injury mainly but when he did feature he looked more than good enough for League 1. I think he could really flourish in L2 - if Curle plays him enough!

Fixture you’re most looking forward to - Bradford

Who will go up - Plymouth, Mansfield, Bradford (Automatic); Northampton (via play-offs)

Who will go down - Macclesfield, Morecambe

League 2 top scorer - Nicky Maynard

Prediction where your team will finish - 5th

Thing is Notts County and Chesterfield were a shambles off the pitch too, took the County lot about 8 months in to realise but it was always ongoing. If Exeter start wank I don’t think they will pay for Harry Kewell, for instance.
