I see some of the Millwall lot were on the pitch trying to get at the Leicester fans after they won, please god we dont get drawn there!

Honestly don't mind who we get now. Bring them here if necessary, let's eliminate them on our way to Wembley.

Tranmere still have a game in hand on FGR and Dagenham as well, so they're still right in the thick of it.

I still don't think anything will be clear for another 10 games or so. Teams at the top, obviously, win games so it's generally a case of you win, someone else wins as well etc. It's not really until the final few games where one win for one and a loss for another opens/closes it up and little time to make the ground up.

We're out of his now and that's not a knee jerk reaction to a defeat we have looked not very good last 3 games and injuries are setting in again. We literally have no central midfielders fit except for Boucard who is off on international duty soon.

Lincoln will win this by 10+ points.

Was speaking to a Leicester fan on my way home last night, apparently Leicester fans had to endure 90 minutes of missile throwing whilst the stewards just stood and watched.

Nobody in the top 4 is out of it. The Lincoln love-in is getting a bit tedious now. Yes, they have done exceptionally well in the FA Cup and all credit to them for that. They've won nothing else yet. Let's hope the players at FGR and Dagenham show a bit more fight and belief than certain posters in this thread.

Last time i went the den millwall needed to beat us to secure the last play off place, it was 0-0 in the last minute and either they had a goal disallowed or missed a sitter i cannot remember but mick mccarthy flew off the bench and kicked a bucket of water over.... now that was a scary place to be, we were kept in for about an hour afterwards to make matters worse i put the radio on to listen to the full time scores and had to endure that man utd injury time fight back against sheff wed which almost certainly guarenteed them the league... mad day

Goal disallowed by Dermot Gallagher.

Dagenham the best of the title contenders, I've seen to date, though not seen Forest Green. Your squad list seemed quite large going on the back of the match programme or there might be scope to loan in a central midfielder?

Think Lincoln will win it, but nowhere near that comfortably.

Not really a home game for Ferriby when there's likely to be at least 2000 Imps in the 2200 crowd. :2thumb:

Have you seen them play? They are far better then the rest of us also rans ffs. They've got massive momentum on and off the pitch, brilliant management and a top quality squad. Heard them being talked about on TalkSport, on one of their shows where the presenters aren't morons, and they were all in agreement Lincoln are easily the best side at this level and because of that their cup exploits wont affect them winning the league comfortably. Hard to argue with that tbh.

Lincoln are head and shoulders the best team in this league, anyone trying to argue otherwise is deluded. You, us and Dagenham are fighting for second.

Almost time to close this thread.

Not having it.

Since Mellon came in:
Lincoln 33 PTS, Tranmere 33PTS
Lincoln failed to score 2, Tranmere failed to score 1
Lincoln clean sheets 5, Tranmere clean sheets 8
Lincoln +14 GD, Tranmere +11.

Yes, they are top and yes they have been excellent all season, but they aren't better than us. They may well win the league but if Mellon had have had the full season we'd be top now, I'm pretty certain of it.

And didn't Brabin have a better PPG than Mellon for the games he took charge of this season?

I'm sure we already disproved this myth about Mellon being the Messiah and Brabin being hopeless...

Sadly, no. I really fucking wish I was, but gotta call it how it is. You're the best side, by a mile. End of.

Pathetic.

Recent results say a lot. While Lincoln have been beating Championship and Premier Leage sides, you drew at home to Bromley, we got thrashed by Gateshead and Daggers lost at home to Guiseley.

Brabin was sacked on the 18th September with a record of P11 W6 D2 L3 with PPG of 1.82.
Mellon was appointed on 7th October and has a record of P16 W10 D3 L3 with PPG of 2.06.
In this time, only ourselves and Lincoln are averaging over 2.00PPG, although they have a slightly higher PPG at 2.20. However, the average (current) position of their opponents has been 13th whilst ours is 11th, so we hold up pretty damn well.

We've played 16, you've played 16.

I'm not saying we're going to storm the title, because clearly Lincoln are currently the favourites. However, I refute the idea they are a better team than us. I guess we'll see over then course of the season, but Lincoln aren't that much better than their rivals. For context, the leaders after 31 games last season had 69 points and the team in 4th (us) had 53 = 16 point gap. This year, they have 64 and 4th (us) has 60 = 4 point gap. Even if they win their game in hand, they'd still have less than half the lead over us that Cheltenham did last season at the same stage. They are NOT uncatchable, and there are more teams in the chase too.

Indeed it doesn't, so we'll see where everyone stands at the end of the year.

Lincoln are certainly catchable, but clutching at some statistical straws here I think. So far at least, they have been the best team in the league.

I think I said at the time that you looked much the better side after those two games we had against Lincoln and then yourselves, but then again they beat us and you didn't. Still, after we SMASH them at Sincil Bank you'll have your way clear.
