Christ, you make a little observation and talk about a reaction. I want you both to go up, so not sure why all Tranmere fans are getting all RATTLED about an opinion.

THE TENSION IS GETTING TO US. We can't cope, we're getting irrational and anxious. Bear with us, well be back to normal when the comforting failure happens.

They are scared on slipping into the play offs and coming against a rampant Aldershot. Then all the talk of being the best squad in the league comes to nothing.

I vaguely remember the feeling but it's been so long since we've been relevant in a title challenge discussion it's mostly a hazy memory.

This is what happens when you're the worst English league club for success. Longer without a trophy or promotion than any other team in top 5 leagues, aside from Oldham (but they're tinpot so don't count).

This reminds me of the season we missed out in the old division 3, Bristol city and Bristol rovers kept winning and motivating the others to win. We won 9 on the spin that year yet still could not cut into the lead. It seems Lincoln and tranmere are firing each other up in the same way
Still remember going to your place and winning 2 -1. ( night game )

I made a remark about how terrible the standard of this division is and someone went and wrote a 1000-word article as to why it isn't.
I appreciate you noticed my article but it had very little to do with your comments, I just thought that since you mentioned it, you (and others) may like it. Purely coincidental, whether you believe it or not.

if people annoy us by making slurs against our club, particularly inaccurate ones, then we will hit back. together. tranmere rovers fans stick together, and sticking together is what good fans do. right lads?

"On the effect of boredom on football fans whose teams have nothing to play for."

1.0 Abstract
Wrexham fans are bitter WUMs, and have nothing to look forward to at all.

...I'm a bit short of my word count here...

I still have not got over the disappointment of that game 27 years on.

13,000 at Prenton Park on a Tuesday night, with about 1,500 from Bristol. Them were the days........

Very interesting and detailed article here on why it is wrong to suggest the National league is getting weaker - http://deadlysubmarine.co.uk/assets...st-the-national-league-is-getting-weaker.html

A well thought out article. A bit flawed in places (IMO) but generally well thought out.

The key thing it misses for me is the calibre of individuals in the league. Is there anyone in the last couple of years with even close to comparable quality of your Vardy, Andre Gray, Gregory, Marcus Maddison, Lolley, Moult, Mark Roberts (and countless more)

The top few sides don't look to have anyone that's gonna make waves in the game. The league might be more solid all round and there's a fair few high quality ex league joirneyman, but little star quality.

Having said that I haven't seen more than 10-15 games of National League football this season, so people may enlighten me otherwise.

Depends what kind of level you're talking. From our squad Ben Tollitt is nailed on to be a league one regular in 2-3 years either with us or another team, whilst Michael Ihiekwe has become very much a more athletic version of McNulty so will also head (back) to league one at some stage. Aside from that, Andy Cook is still relatively young and I can't see him coming back overweight next season. Not seen enough to comment on other teams players.

Danny Rowe was absolutely class for us and got himself a well earned move to Ipswich in January. You can tell how good he was by the fact we used the money from his sale on 3 or 4 quality players for this level and we haven't really got any better. He was winning games for us on his own in the first half of the season at times.

Ihiekwe looked very good against us each time, as did McNulty.

Omar Bogle was playing for Grimsby last season and is now playing in the championship for Wigan. Our striker Dapo Afolayan is getting interest from Swansea, Leicester as well as a host of FL clubs.

It speaks volumes about just how good Bogle was this season for us when you see the difference in our results and performances since he left.
He carried us in so many games we are missing him big time.

Also worth highlighting fans judgement can at best be fickle. Majority of our fans didn't think Aaron Cresswell was good enough for us in league one, he's since become an England player and was second in performance only to Payet for West Ham last year. There could be players like that whom fans don't think much of yet.

And to clarify on the flawed comment - it's flawed in that I disagree with a point rather than your logic or point isn't sound. Really enjoy when people look beyond the superficial!

Just looked at the table, reminds me of our promotion battle with some rovers. Hang on in there Lincoln and I hope Tranmere make it through playoffs if you finish one\two as appears to be likely.

Not really the right thread but I'm backing FGR for the playoffs. Think the lower expectations from recent poor form will help them and a player that can score a goal from nothing in Doidge

I was surprised how well he adapted to the football league this season. I believe he was in and out the team for you last season, albeit he did score the goals to get you promotion. I do love Bignot, but I don't like his constant pursuing of our players - now after Dapo Afolayan. We could also really do with Jamey Osborne at the moment to keep us in this league.

There are still a section of our fans who will not admit that Jon Walters was any good despite the fact has gone on to be a regular PL and international player.

John Ruddy too. Although he was pretty poor on loan for us.
