When it's well documented about the supposed obesity problem in Scotland the desire to have youngsters take part in outdoor sporting activity is tremendous....so you have to hand it to Aberdeenshire council for their part in encouraging this....The council decided to 'spruce' up a local children's football pitch.....

Keeps 'em on their toes, I guess. Could also contribute to them learning better skill and balance on the ball.

Fantastic move imo.

There's a sad background story behind this. Bayern München was never a favourite club of the Nazis. They were defamed as "Jewish club". They had jewish owners until 1933 and the club was forced to put the Hakenkreuz into its badge by the Nazis in 1938 to "represent" the Reich "properly" . It wasn't their decision and they couldn't deny to do it.
This only as an explanation why they had to put this Symbol into the badge. Of course you can dislike Bayern nonetheless but not for this.

Fair enough Dirk but they are forever associated now with it because of that and it is a blight on them; just like with the English national side doing the Nazi salute back then also.

but they weren't forced to do it. They could've deny to do that. Big difference.
If Bayern had denied to put the Hakenkreuz into its badge.....(I'll leave it to your imagination what could've happened).

Yeah I know it's a difficult call to make.

Just been speaking to my mother about the war funnily enough on a completely unrelated topic and found out one of my great uncles was a 'conchie' - a conscientious objector who refused to fight in the war - it must've been such a difficult period to be in for tough decisions whether to go to war or not, or to yield to state pressure like Bayern did and to be judged on those decisions.
