Neat and tidy in possession with Mussa a standout in midfield but they lack a bit of quality up front and they panicked defensively when we pressed them a bit.

6/10 first half, it was two average sides going back and forth like a basketball match, you can see why Mullin's on nine grand a week, a constant hassle hanging off the defender's shoulder

3/10 second half and that's being generous, it was like a pre-season game where you change the whole XI at half time and they decided to field a load of trialists

Torquay 5/10. Kept going til the end but didn't offer much and thought we dominated them for most of the game.

Maidenhead 7/10.

Tall, fit lads with a bit of skill thrown in.

Well organised and solid defence. Like to keep the ball in the air, but had some tidy play when it was on the ground. Direct in their approach, not a lot of finesse maybe, but it suits their players. Surprised how good they were to be honest.

Seems to be a recurring theme at the moment, where we perform reasonably well in one half before performances start diving off a cliff. I'd be lying if I didn't say it was a bit concerning.

Altrincham 5. Entirely moderate, slowed the game down as much as possible, happy to play like the away team on the break and entirely good enough to beat us through hard work and a plan they stuck to.

Solihull 6, the score line doesn’t give the whole story they missed chances as did we could have been 8-4, absolutely massive side which is effective at this level but not against our tricky players. Will finish upper mid table.

Seems about right tbh. ...We seem to struggle to play more than 45 minutes at the moment. Its a worry.

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Wealdstone 5/10 ,difficult to judge any team when against Aldershot .Almost as creaky at the back as us, otherwise ordinary.
Halifax 6/10 , again, nothing much to measure against, but a better team than ‘Shots. Solid and organised.

Pitch issues apart, and just 55mins. to judge.
Wrexham 7/10. Obviously an expensively assembled side of proper footballers, but not quite meshing together. Some very slick passing often ending on the edge of the box. Will very definitely be play-offs; if they get their act together could win it. Impressive.

Seems only fair to do one of these for Woking 8

Said before the game they looked a big, strong outfit, but actually for 70 minutes they looked very average. Apart from the goal that wasn’t, didn’t really threaten us, but they defended well and kept themselves in the game.

Equalised out of nowhere, the super sub no 11 came on (Johnson), we had a nervous breakdown, and they did everything you need to do at this level to win a game. Pace, physicality,, great set pieces,, and clinical finishing, including from 2 of our former players who were obviously total garbage for us.

First 70 minutes lower mid table, last 20 high playoffs. Not forgetting of course that we are as soft as shit, and don’t Woking always start well, before losing their last maybe 20 games?

I'll do the three I've seen.

Torquay: 5/10. Didn't look fit. Would have scored them 4 but they did apply a fair bit of pressure before we got our 3rd to seal the win.

Maidenhead: 6.5/10. Very organised and tough to break down, hardly gave us a sniff in the box and no time on the ball. Nothing going forward other than their goal though. They'd probably say the same about us, in all fairness.

Bromley: 7/10. We were comfortably better than them in the first half, but they battled incredibly hard in the second and knew how to use the elements to great effect. 10/10 for unsporting shithousery too.

It's the Bromley way, they are the true masters of the Dark Arts, saying that there's not been much mention of the Chief Warlock of Shithousery Chris Bush, has he turned over a new leaf and actually trying to play footy this season? He's usually stamped on someone's head by now.

Woking 7. Effective with an understanding of what you need to compete with a budget that can't get near Stockport or Wrexham.
We have a set piece coach, budget and a network to assess players, Woking have a grizzled manager who's seen every player he signs in the flesh.
I'd swap managers tomorrow.

Wrexham’s attempt at trying to get their game back on using towels 7/10.
Aldershot’s attempt at not trying to get the game back on 10/10.

Start well and rule relegation out almost immediately. Great tactics :bg:

Have a strong 15 or so games, and then relax as your work has been done.

Wild has got you lot staying the course a bit more lately to be fair.

I was going to say that but didn't want to come across as arrogant. We've hardly faided away this last couple of years.

The problem you've got seems to me to be squad depth, as happened with Torquay last year, a few critical injuries and you are screwed. You need a bit of luck- its much harder keeping up the pace with a smaller budget.

Yeah we are already having that. We were missing. Summerfield. Woods. Debrah. Benn. Vale who would all be first team squad members. Wild has left money in the budget this season to deal with injuries. Has allowed us to bring in Vale and Newby so far
