Thought now would be a good time to start this favourite thread (usually started by someone else but just because I started it doesn't mean I'm the only one allowed to post real league tables) because ten games is traditionally when you start taking the league table seriously, and also just look at it! Any one of 11 teams could be second to Plymouth come 5pm on Saturday.

22 - Plymouth
21 -
20 -
19 -
18 -
17 - Luton - Doncaster - Portsmouth - Notts County
16 - Grimsby - Carlisle - Crewe - Morecambe
15 - Colchester - Accrington - Crawley
14 -
13 - Blackpool - Mansfield
12 - Hartlepool
11 - Orient - Barnet - Stevenage - Wycombe
10 - Yeovil
9 - Cambridge - Exeter
8 - Cheltenham
7 -
6 - Newport

*Game in hand

In the past two weeks, Plymouth, Doncaster and Carlisle haven't changed in respect to each other, each taking 6 from 6 with Plymouth's maintaining their healthy lead. Not far behind them, Pompey are at the tip of a pyramid of chasing teams seprated by only four points while the bottom half of the table forms another group with Cambridge in the process of moving up and Newport looking a bit adrift, albeit with two games in hand.

After another game (two if you're Notts or Morecambe) I'll just focus on what's changed since last weekend.

As mentioned, Notts and Morecambe have played their game in hand soon after last weekend's abandonment, Stevenage, Barnet and Newport (x2) are still your teams with games in hand.

Plymouth, for the first time since I started doing this, won't go into the next match guaranteed to stay top, though it would take a Plymouth defeat and a Donny win to change that.

While Donny and Carlisle have closed the gap on Plymouth they have also extended the gap to fourth.

There is still a cluster of teams separated by four points in the top half, then a two-point gap to another cluster of teams seperated by four in the bottom half. The main changes are that the top group has a new leader in Luton, while Hartlepool and Colchester have gone from trailing the top group to leading the bottom group and Orient and Barnet have slid to the back of the bottom group.

Newport meanwhile, have gone from three points adrift to five points adrift.

While there is that three point gap between Plymouth and Donny, them and Carlisle do form another group seperated by four points so we have three four-point-long groups, and Newport.

With our current average of 1 point per game, we would be looking at only 46 points come May. Will this be enough to keep us up? Dunno :dk:

Compared to the tables I posted about a month ago, not a lot has changed. We still have a spread out leading pack with a peloton of teams crammed in behind them and Newport adrift at the bottom.

The leading pack does now contain five teams, but only just, with Luton and Pompey maintaining position at the head of the play-offs but only two points from the chasers. The top three are pulling further away however, with Plymouth, Carlisle and Doncaster now 11, 7 and 3 points ahead of Luton compared to 7, 3 and 4 a month ago (Carlisle and Donny having exhanged places).

At one point it looked as though a gap between a top-half bunch and a bottom-half bunch may develop, however this has now closed up a bit and the points gap between 6th and 23rd has actually shrunk from nine to seven points, however most teams are in similar positions within the peloton with just a bit of shuffling around. Yeovil and Barnet on a slight upward trajectory, Colchester and Hartlepool on a slight downward one.

Newport fell from three to five points adrift and are now back up to just four points adrift. Their form is still poor but they have a game in hand and have just won their first game under Westley, and had they beaten Stevenage (not an impossibility) they would't be adrift at all. That game in hand won't be until December though.

In terms of points, the 23 point mark which would be between Pompey and Notts, is the halfway point between Plymouth and Newport.

Noticed there's more points separating 1st and 2nd (7) than 6th to 23rd (6). Incredibly tight.

Grimsby in 6th are as close to us in 22nd as they are to 5th.

Not the real table as such but something that looks almost identical.
CxO-PlCXAAAOU6v.jpg:large

The rest of this division really need to give their heads a shake, that yellow dotted line at 61 points, the one that nearly everyone is below represents the average number of points needed to finish in the top half.

If things don't change (and I'm sure things are likely to change, they always do) then we'd be looking at Plymouth runaway Champions accompanied by 2 from Carlisle, Donny, Pompey and Luton, with the two that lose out competing in the playoffs against two very lucky sides, while relegation is currently 2 from 19.

Since I last did this, both Carlisle and Plymouth have won one and lost one and remain four points apart, while Donny and Luton have closed the gap by quite a bit and Pompey by a little bit.

There's been a fair bit of movement in the chasing pack while the top five have extended their distance slightly due to Notts and Crewe failing to keep up the pace, Grimsby have moved into sixth simply by keeping up their own pace. The distance from Grimsby to Exeter is the same as the distance from Grimsby to Carlisle (nine points)

There have been some teams getting a couple of wins to move up the group (Blackpool and Wycombe) and others putting runs of defeats together and moving in the opposite direction. (Notts, Accrington, Crawley, Morecambe, Colchester and Exeter) The latter of those being overtaken by a resurgent Newport.

Overall the general shape of the peloton looks about same as it did, though it now covers 11 rather than 7 points and has an extra Welsh team for company.

You have a problem?
Not with you, don't get your knickers in a twist.

Where's the predicted points? Maximum points etc.?

What's with all the stupid names and colours? The real league table was fantastic on TFF when done properly.

We went from 21st to 8th in 6 games but dropped 4 places because we didn't play last night. If we win our game in hand we go up 6 places. Crazy league.

Bit early to put the predicted points on since only the top three are even approaching the survival thresholds.

I just thought it would be nice to have each team in their own colour, but can give them proper names from the next time I update it.

I put you in yellow initially and one of your lot complained that you are amber, but there is no option for amber text so I said fuck it.

The quality of the league this year is absolutely shite but what an exciting one it is becoming. Giving everyone hope for play off's as well as the jitters of relegation.
