Is Dion Pereira out of contract? He said in an interview the other month that he still had a few years left with you guys. We'd love him back either on loan or if he's a free agent.
No one knows who is under contract and who isn’t as that information is never published by us for some reason. We seem the only club who operates like that, whenever someone signs or signs a new contract that information is never shared. All we know is that we have 7 players of out of contract and we only know that because Jones said as much, which in itself is not very trustworthy give his track record in press conferences!!

Neither have set things alight. But they are in house and must have had something that the Club saw in them. So lets wait and see and bring in others ahead of them, hopefully the finished article/starters rather than prospects and allow them to slowly progress and see whats what after another full season. Guess theyre in contract and not expensive. Id also guess one or both Jerome and Hylts will be off, so theres room for others without needing to move them on

We seem to be doing ours one at a time. So far Huddlestone and Eaves released.

Our list is out. Really only 1 name on the release side and it’s one everyone already really said goodbye too which is Elliot Lee.

Options taken:
Luke Berry - really happy with this, fits our style perfectly. Just not been able to be fit enough this season but when he is, super dependable

Harry Isted - Nice to see as he’s never been given a chance despite being quite talented I think. Hoping he can become the backup to a new number 1 as Shea is going to be out a long while.

Cameron Jerome - started off a bit lukewarm on him but by seasons end was a big fan. Still got something to give

Peter Kioso - thought we had an option on him. At minimum we can get a fee for him as I think a few might want to take a look certainly at upper league 1 level. For me keep him around though, can fill in at centre half and a very good back up for Bree.

In negotiations with
Kal Naismith- really hoping he signs. Been a huge player for us but assume he will have some offers after such a good season. Will be a blow if we can’t get him back.

Danny Hylton - honestly a bit surprised we have offered him something. I felt the Huddersfield 2nd leg where he worked his bollocks off for us was a fitting end for him. Given we already have Jerome as the obligatory “experienced striker” would prefer to see a younger/promising type player take up Danny’s role in the team

Robert Snodgrass - has got some quality about him still and seems a big high character type to have around so would want him back. With it we play we need a lot of midfield players so if he’s part of that mix then fine by me.

Also means loaned out players Rea and Pereira are coming back and still under contract

Hylton shouldn't have been given a new deal 2 years ago - I'm shocked he's getting one now. He's 34 in February which means our two backup strikers are going to be 34 and 36 next season. He has played 48 times in 3 seasons and scored 4 goals (this season only). Or 76 times since we departed League 2 and scoring 12 goals.

Its noticeable that a lot of players are now over 30 this coming season.

Yeah im a little shocked he has been offered something, I really thought the Huddersfield game was a fitting note to end it, put his everything on the line for us in a system that probably doesn't suit him but did it anyway to benefit the team.

Certainly some ageing players in there, im definitely hoping for us to add to that slightly younger group this summer, dont think we need anymore "adds experience" type signings when we have a core group who will be 30+ already in place.

Intrigued how that shapes our summer strategy and if its a post playoff and covid cost cutting, cheaper option exercise. Doesnt leave much room for another striker.

I've been trying to work out what we need to do. I think a couple of spaces in the 25 man squad are available purely because of long term injuries to Glen Rea and James Shea - the latter who seemingly won't play all of next season. Bearing in mind this gets adjusted in January.

I'm actually quite surprised we had so many either under contract or under option and it doesn't allow us much room to improve unless some tough decisions are taken.

Kenneth's 25 Man Squad:
James Bree, Kal Naismith, Sonny Bradley, Harry Cornick, Luke Berry, Danny Hylton, Elijah Adebayo, Robert Snodgrass, Tom Lockyer, Reece Burke, Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu, Jordan Clark, Peter Kioso, Harry Isted, Allan Campbell, Henri Lansbury, Fred Onyedinma, Elliot Thorpe, Amari'i Bell, Gabriel Osho, Cameron Jerome
+4 new signings - GK, LB, MF, FW

Other Pros not in 25 Man Squad: (think a few of these are wishful thinking)
James Shea, Dan Potts, Glen Rea, Carlos Mendes Gomes, Dion Pereira, Admiral Muskwe
May be a case that Dan Potts is retained and Thorpe is swapped for CMG and then loaned out.

Other Pros U21:
Josh Neufville, Jameson Horlick, Callum Nicolson, Josh Williams, Avan Jones, Conor Lawless, Tra Lucas, Casey Pettit, Aidan Francis-Clarke, Ed McJannet, Josh Allen, Jacob Cowler
