Fair play to Burton, they've recovered from a dreadful run to give themselves a chance. They are becoming masters of a great escape. Was it just 2 years ago they were dead and buried at the bottom of league 1 going into the New Year, and yet escaped. For you Cheltenham fans we will give everything to beat them next Saturday, as they say, it's never over till the fat lady sings

We've got to get through Posh first - I know they're resting their first team, but our players are out on their feet. We're playing a 50% fit Matty Taylor because we have no other fit forwards, apart from Joe Nuttall - a player who couldn't get into the starting 11 of a team in the Conference. Yesterday we had a 16 year old striker on the bench.

If we can get a goal or two up in the first half, we might hold on.

Then it's a crap shoot. All we can do is our best. Where you are after the final whistle blows on game 46 is where you deserve to be. At the moment, we've not been out of the relegation zone all season. If we sneak out of it at 2:25pm next Saturday, I'll be the happiest bloke in the World.

Joe Nuttall cost us £750,000 from Blackburn Rovers 4 seasons ago lol. Our worst signing in the last 20 years :(.

To be fair to Posh these days their reserves mean starting a 20 goal a season striker in JCH!

Is that still the rumour? What happened last August was hilarious.

No idea. MT isn't confirming or denying any interest. I know he wanted to come here as he has family in the area so guess he still would be, but he will get better offers as a free agent

So Chris Martin who scored the winning goal against us for Bristol Rovers in the 87th minute, gets a 4 game ban for head butting Jobe off the ball earlier in the game, but missed by the ref at the time. I hope this doesn’t come back to haunt us !!!
Saw the clip of that yesterday. Looks like Jobe was trying to grab Martins junk? Martin probably a bit pissed off after missing the penalty and lost it. Martins an idiot doing that, for someone of his experience.
Jobe finished the game though, maybe question marks over your medical team too?

It seems to be as its a different plane to the image the Stokies put up with the banner.

He is an odd one though, constantly slating us, reckon's he was player of the year in our promotion (he wasn't 33 goal Tom Pope was), he wasn't a bad player for us but not stand out and his footballing career never really progressed, unlike his midfield partner Sam Morsy.

He departed late in the promotion season after a very public spat with Micky Adams following a fall out over Bristol Rovers away and went public with his view of the departure - https://www.onevalefan.co.uk/2015/1...of-vale-exit-and-accuses-adams-of-wrongdoing/

He is quite vile regarding the fans of the club etc... have to bear in mind this was all 12 years ago as well!

Was quite funny though as the plane didn't get any reaction inside the ground... largely because the majority couldn't see it from where it flew over!

Commiserations to Cheltenham. Amazing to get it to the final day of the season really considering the first 11 or so games of the season.

We recorded our end of season pod last night - it's amazing how quickly I've got over relegation.

I'm actually quite excited for the new season. That will probably change once the upheaval starts with board members going and talk of DC's future still ongoing, but for now I'm looking forward to 3 (potentially 4) away days under an hour away and going into games with a little bit more expectancy of a win rather than simply hoping we can upset the apple cart.

If you can keep Darrel you'll be up there.

I think so, should have a better idea by Christmas, when the table’s settled into a bit more of a pattern.

Obviously there’s been some poor starts, but I think those who are really shitting the bed will probably have early sackings on the cards anyway.

Shrewbury and Cambridge doing as expected. If anything, Shrews are over achieving at the moment.

Watched Shrewsbury twice now, obviously long way to go but I’ll be amazed if they stayed up, serious lack of quality in that side. We did not even turn up in the first half yesterday, their goal was gift wrapped and we still missed out on a blatant goal line hand ball to stop us going in to half time drawing.

They generally hold their shape pretty well, but that’s about it.

we will be fine. I’m not worried.
Difference between this season and last is that we are playing much better and creating chances.
Just need to cut out the naivety at the back.
And the 10 out injured.
I genuinely think someone is going to get a pasting off us - when it clicks.

Burton will never be relegated from this league. Can't remember how many times you've looked buried, only to pull off a sensational comeback.

If in danger they usually sign about 10 players in January who seem to gel immediately. Ours seem to take months even after a full pre-season...

Taylor on thin ice now??
He is just too negative/defensive, yet we are still shipping the highest number of goals.
He only seems to make attacking changes when we are chasing the game.
We should have went for Posh from the off on Sat as they were there for the taking, yet watched (literally watched) them take a 3-0 lead

Hopefully a double relegation.
Fingers crossed. In seriousness the owner needs to sell and they need investment, but he is a power freak and won't sell. That group who ended up buying Burton was sniffing round Slops until he said no apparently.

If win don't on Saturday against Lincoln (who usually bum us spectacularly at the Abbey) we won't have won a match for six months in any competition.

So yeah, who's coming with?

We are going for a club record of 13 matches unbeaten since January 1st away at Blackpool I think, what could possibly go wrong!?

Incidentally our next match away after the Abbey……….Blackpool on Tuesday night.
