Just had a look at Alfreton's remaining fixtures. Safe to say I think, the home game v Welling on the 18th is the relegation decider.

Nuneaton defended well against us and Streete did a good job marking Akinde for the most part. They never looked like scoring though and wins are what they need.

That was a big missed opportunity for Nuneaton and, to a lesser extent, Welling today.
If Alfreton can avoid defeat against Welling they'll be fine.

Can't see Nuneaton making up 6 points on Alfreton with three games left. For me, the last spot is between Welling and Alfreton, with their game being, well, huge. If Welling win they will stay up given the their fixtures, I can see them getting the required 3 points from Kiddy, Wrexham and Southport at home, whereas I can't see Alfreton getting anything from their games at Eastleigh and Bristol. For me, the 18th is when it will be pretty much decided.

Id concur with that but both Welling and Nuneaton could easilly pick up a win on Saturday.
Nuneaton travel to all but relegated Dartford but crucially they are still alive and a Dartford win will surely finish Nuneaton. Just dont think they score enough tho. 33 goals in 43 games is just not good enough

Welling on the other hand host a woefully out of form Kiddy. You had to think they have to win that one.

We travel to Eastleigh who have only won 2 of their 10 at home. Completely depends on which Alfreton turns up though

Those games in hand at the bottom could be real nervy affairs. If Welling beat Kidderminster and Wrexham, big if I know, then you would think that Southport would have to get something from the Braintree game. With their other two being Bristol Rovers and Grimsby before finishing at Welling, it could make it very interesting at the bottom last game, and therefore very interesting at the top with Alfreton at Bristol Rovers.

Nuneaton deducted 3 points.

Effectively one more relegation place gone now, all down to Welling/Alfreton/Southport for the final spot now.

Southport are fine IMO. Welling are going to have to win 3 of their last four to get to them.

Not so sure... In theory Southport should be able to win against an out of form Braintree side at home, but they should have beaten Telford yesterday. They also have us and Grimsby before that final day away at Welling.

With their fixtures, I could see Welling putting a run together (Wrexham at home might be difficult mind)

Excellent news regarding Nuneaton.

Really feel for them though. They looked dead and buried at one point then a mini revival and now they had their chances extinguished by off the field issues. Must be tough to take for their fans.

I also believe Southport are fine.

Straight battle between ourselves and Welling now.

For me we need to get a least a point at Eastleigh to take the pressure off the Welling game and make it a must not lose rather than a must win.

Unfortunately can't see you getting anything of Eastleigh and we won't help by probably gifting Welling 3 points as well

Yeah I expect Welling ti beat yourselfs unfortunately. Hoping Wrexham can do us a favour in a weeks time.

We have already beaten Eastleigh 3-2 back at our place in November and IF (a big if) we can replicate yesterdays performance I am sure we will come away with something. We shall see,

As I've said before Southport & Alfreton will be fine. Welling will be the ones to drop.

As long as Alfreton dont lose at Welling they will be fine. Even a draw would leave Welling needing to win 2 of their other 3 games.

Not looking good I am afraid.

We MUST win on Saturday and see where we stand then. Could do with Grimsby doing the business against Southport too.

Their is a chain of events where both Alfreton and Welling stay up at the expense of Southport however

If Saturday is a draw, Southport lose to Grimsby then Welling beat Southport and we pull off a miracle and beat Bristol Rovers then we stay up with Welling.

We must hope Rovers drop points at Dover and Barnet seal the title at a awful Kiddy. Then Rovers have to concntarte on the play-offs and may field a weak side against us?

Its officially squeaky bum time!

You beat Welling and Welling beat Southport you would need a point on the final day to stay up, assuming Southport lose their other game at home to Grimsby.

Those results would also send Southport down.

Can see all three finishing on 47 points and then goal difference deciding it. Not great for Alfreton considering they have the worst and have Brizzle away still to go.

Not sure how seriously Grimsby will take Southport on Saturday either, all but assured of third place, just need a point to make sure.

Hurst pretty much said after last weeks game that players will be rested now ready for the play offs.

Sorry Alfreton

Dont be sorry. We shouldnt even have got to this position. To be honest I still expect your "B" side to have enough against a depleted Southport

Still think Southport will be ok due to GD. It's also good for them that Alfreton and Welling play each other on Saturday.

Southport are basically safe. That GD isn't going to swing round.

Will give you a good send off, should be a sell out If Gateshead can draw or beat Barnet and you lot go quietly and let us win easily would be appreciated

Can't you take Welling with you? Thanks for the 9 nine points you've given us, don't worry though we'll get them off your Tin Pot replacements next season. :woo:

You will have no problems against us. You will easily trounce us 4-0. Trust me. We are a shambles at the back.

So If you have to win to have any chance of staying up do you expect your manager to throw caution to the wind and go all out attack?
