After losing 10 of 12 in the league. Also lost to stourbridge in the cup.

Sorry it didnt work out and i tried to defend some of our performances but after Bristol Rovers on Saturday I finally lost all patience with him and glad that hes gone.

Camping 10 men on the edge of your box each game is not a tactic.

This isnt a case of us thinking we should be fighting for automatic promotion, but he broke up a league winning side for no reason and we are dropping at an alarming rate.

No idea of who we will get in next.

Sacking probably correct. Trying not to lose became very, very boring and most of the time we lost anyway. However, some of our fans have been right c*** and should be ashamed of themselves. Very interested to see where we go from here.

Justin Edinburgh?

We did warn you of his tactics, especially away from home but even I'm surprised at how bad he has mucked up (and a damning insight on how bad Bruno was that even Page did him over!)

Page still had us mid table and challenging for the play offs despite much of the squad going on to be poor elsewhere this season.

Please Smurf do not go back there though!

He's tried to evolve the squad too quickly, and it didn't need to happen like that

We found with Page that he had his "favourites" so players out of form would play whereas certain others wouldn't, i.e. persisted with the likes of Birchall for example and then generally offered the whole squad a new deal even when most expected certain players not to be up to standard for keeping!

This is 100% true. Half the squad has probably played less than 2 games all season, little wonder we would often concede late goals. Think we have conceded something like 6 goals after the 89th minute this season. That made his refusal to make any changed before then particularly baffling. Asking 2 35(ish) strikers to play 180 minutes in 3 days the other day was madness.

I doubt if Edinburgh would think Northampton are big enough for him.
After all he was always saying that we are 'only little Gillingham',
'What do the fans expect?',
'we have a tiny weeny little budget'
'we are massively over achieving by being in 17th in League One'.
I think he is still gutted that Jose beat him to the Man Utd job and is probably waiting for Wenger to move on in the summer.

I actually think Edinburgh would be decent for Northampton.

For about 6 months anyway, then he'll start thinking he's Gods gift again.

Can see JED being interested purely on a location basis. Don't forget before we appointed him he was extremely well thought of, he'll get it right somewhere.

Yeah, good job we got rid considering the progress we have made since
Oh my god i cannot believe that quote MJA. We finished where we did in spite of him not because of him. The last 2 retained lists have been pure disgraces and his continual loan signings and never actually playing them was awful. Kennedy, O'Sullivan, Luer, Panayatou , do i need to go on ?
Awful insipid away displays where Port Vale nil became the norm ( yes no better now ) .
I can,t profess to know shed loads about Northampton Town , what i do know is they won League 2 in amazing fashion with their eyes shut from about February onwards. All the signs were of a team on the up, he has signed quality players probably some on a decent wedge.
Yet they are below us in the table and have just been walloped by a team who came up with them last season who are faring way way better than them and also NTFC contrived to lose to Stourbridge.
The reason we are cack this season is down to a poor uneducated managerial appointment, i am not jumping on the bandwagon here, read my posts from last season, Page was killing my enjoyment of football, he is a number two and always will be.
All about opinions aint it, i totally disagree with yours.

Yeah would agree with this... every time we got within a sniff of the play offs we bottled it under Page, he just couldn't get us up for big games under pressure... Chesterfield Away (twice!), Burton Home, Scunthorpe Away examples.

Worst was Sheffield United away... they were in awful form and were pants yet we were so negative we didn't have a shot on target! The amount of away games we would go 1-0 down with 30-45 minutes to go and not be able to turn the game around as were set up so negatively was frustrating.

Don't even let me get started on March-May 2015 either! That victory at the Ricoh (3-2) was the last away win I saw... we had 48 points with 11 to play and still somehow nearly got relegated! 6 Straight defeats followed by 3 draws before a 2nd to last game win at bottom club Yeovil to secure our survival! Should of gone then!

Yes Page had a decent season at home last season (so did Bruno in the main), yes we had some real top performances on 5 or 6 occasions last season but i wasn't gutted he went and still don't regret it despite Bruno's colossal balls up! Great coach under Adams... not a great manager.

Looks like it is going to be JED then for the Cobblers.
Sky Bet have closed the book after having him at 1/12.
Started off really well for us but his form over the last 40 or so games is just over a point a game, which is close to relegation form.
He may have learned some lessons from his time with us though as it was the highest level he has managed so far.
He does need to stop telling the world what a tiny club you are though and telling the fans that they should be grateful for anything they get as they are over performing and really should be playing in the Conference.
I still think he could be a decent manager, if he learns along the way.
Anyway, I wish him well as he does seem an OK sort of bloke.

I too wish him well, but I'm stunned his ego has accepted a League One job. He has no idea how to turn bad form around, so good luck with that!

A quote from the Cobblers website:

'My teams are known for strength, high energy and playing on the front foot and I want to continue that here.'

The last 12 months saw fuck all of any of that!

Pretty sure Rob Page said the same thing.

I think I'm pleased, but you can never predict anything. He does seem a good fit though.

Good luck to him, not sure he has the ability to turn it around, but I genuinely hope he does.

I am not sure that we need turning around, just needs to play the squad that he has the right way.
Rob Page failed to do that.
