So, as TLW has alluded to, the FA have finally stepped in and summoned Katrien Meire to their headquarters for questioning regarding the direction in which the club is heading.

http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/fa-summon-under-fire-charlton-12178213

Not entirely sure what they can do from here and the smarmy cow will no doubt wriggle her way out of it but nice to see this shambolic running of a football club is being recognised by the FA and it only tarnishes the name of both Meire and Dutchatelet even further.

Also today, our un-illustrious leader has made contact with Jim White at Talksport and has pretty much cracked up. If you have ten minutes spare, this is well worth a listen - particularly the Charlton fan who phones in and speaks very well.

http://talksport.com/football/charl...uchatelet-breaks-silence-tell-talksport-these

So further to previously calling us 'customers', Roland now describes protestors as 'core actors' who are protesting without reason. Not only this but he has 'other things to care for'. Now if this type of quote doesn't make the FA sit up and seriously question the motives for running this club, what will?

It seems the protestor's visits to Belgium have really got under his skin, with him cracking up and Meire being called in front of the FA, have to be hopeful that there is a tiny glimmer of light in our dark, dark tunnel, just need to prise that hole open now!

Edit: Bloke from South London Press now apologising saying the Meire/FA story is incorrect and has taken the story off the website. Fuck sake.

I assume Lamby phoned in to pledge his undying allegiance to the current regime?

Anyway, as much as the actions of some of your club's previous owners still rankle with me, no genuine football fan wants to see a club run into the ground by some foreign puppeteer who cares jack shit for the club, heritage, fans etc. (see Leeds, Orient and more).

Good luck.

You would never think you supported the same team, would you.

We have them too - last minute winner on saturday and two blokes squaring up at the back of the Rainham End over a difference of opinion. Crazy.

Too right JtG. Be grateful for any sort of win, especially when other sides are imploding.

What?

The fact is these interviews did happen, all this stuff has come from Chris Powell, ex-players, ex-coaches, ex-directors and even scouts and associates of Roland. Even players Roland sent over have stated how ridiculous it is.They even have more coming up in another 2 parts!

What are your thoughts on the e-mails then? Quite intrigued as to how you're going to try and defend them.

I've listened to it ffs

The club refused to comment, that always tells it's own story.

No way are those "emails" real. They were probably dreamt up by some dickhead involved with CARD.

More revelations today, about the running of the club and the owners interference with the team including leaked emails.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-2-formation-former-manager-Chris-Powell.html

Also, very worth having a listen to the first two episodes of the podcast mentioned in the article which should shed a lot of light on our situation at the moment. Dark, worrying times for this club.

Oh mate. I'd laugh if it wasn't so sad. The second email is awesome ( obviously not for you) . Good luck on getting rid of these weirdos as soon as possible.

Does your fellow 'supporter' say the opposite of you, just to create an argument, or is he just a total f**kwit?

That email is fucking hilarious.
Telling an international player and experienced manager how to play 4-4-2?
You couldn't make it up.
Has Robinson seen them?

I reckon that if Roland 'Mike Bassett' Duchatelet asset stripped the club and left Charlton skint, playing non league football and ground sharing with Greenwich Borough Lamby would still be walking around saying "sschhh, don't make a fuss".

Are there actually any normal owners these days? Gone are the times when clubs were owned by local businessmen with roots in the area. Sure, most of them dipped their sticky fingers in all the cash swilling around, but they at least had the interests of their club paramount.

All this new found money in the game at all levels has attracted so many dodgy shysters.

Very true.
Our own chairman, Paul Scally, has come in for a lot of stick over the years for not throwing money at the club.
The thing is Gillingham Football Club is his living, not just a plaything, so it is in his interests to keep it solvent and, if possible, profitable.
Whilst there maybe drawbacks with this, such as he draws a salary from the club, at least we know we are going to have a football club tomorrow.

It's the balance between taking out and investing in the club. Marry that with the usual abridged accounts that reveal very little and it's no wonder fans concoct conspiracy theories about owners stripping clubs.

Whenever a player is sold nobody actually knows how much is received and what is done with it.

STFC have had millions come into the club in the last couple of years via sales and playoff income. Then we hear Power has bought a golf club, Waterford United and, apparently, a club in Montenegro. You've got to wonder whether these purchases have been bought with money generated by the club which should/could have been invested in OUR club.

They keep us 'happy' by still having a club to support - even one with little future.

Fortunately we do, one of a rapidly decreasing number in the English game. We're extremely lucky to have Lansdown here, it's taken for granted by the majority of our fanbase.

Indeed you are fortunate, but no matter what he does it's never enough for some. I've never been so disillusioned with things here.

Mhm, without derailing the thread I've listened to a few of Power's phone ins over the last year out of interest and you can tell he's only in it to make a bit of wedge, he's even open about the fact that he's running it as a business and won't invest anymore than he absolutely needs to.

Another twat of an owner, hope you get bought out sooner rather than later.

Were it not for the sometimes much maligned chairman, we might be playing parks football at best IMO

Some of you may have already seen this .....

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/2437299/charlton-athletic-roland-duchatelet-chris-powell/

https://www.londonnewsonline.co.uk/13708/charlton-owner-slams-fans-dumb-tv-club-legend-chris-powell/

So Charlton fans are customers, willing the club to fail, protesting without cause and now stupid too, all from the mouth of the owner yet our glorious CEO tells us they have learnt from previous mistakes and want a relationship with fans. I think they need to work on their technique because insulting fans and club legends isn't going to work.

Telling when chairmen of other league clubs think the same.

I don't know what to say anymore.

I'll send a bottle of champagne to every member of this forum when this senile old prick dies.
