Relegation certs after 3 games? ok...

If we defend like we did against Boro and take our chances then there is no reason why can take 3pts off you at Deepdale, we've badly missed Beckford so far and i'm hoping he will back for Saturday.

Rotherham... yes.

As for your lot. Yes, by all means there's a chance you'll take 3 points but it will be an upset should you do. I'm just trying to get an idea of how you're playing. It wasn't a loaded question.

Rotherham were probably 'relegation certs' at this stage last season too.

Defensively we've been excellent, our organisation has been top notch.

Going forward, we've created chances but things haven't fully clicked yet, as I said Beckford is a loss as Keane and Garner don't compliment each other, and we miss his pace on the counter.

I'd very happily take a point on Saturday. I think if we'd not kept a clean sheet last night, a loss at Deepdale would be likely but I think the clean sheet will have given the back 5 a much needed confidence boost.

Going forward, we can mix the play around and assuming we have Fraser playing, we have two cracking wingers, 2 top strikers and 2 more top strikers on the bench.

We won't go down!!!

6 new players in our side last night and it showed, we haven't gelled yet but a more encouraging performance, once we're cooking we'll be very solid and hard to beat.

Very possibly least entertaining game at NYS last night.

Although I did say Halford and Collins would have too much nous for Garner and Keane to affect us, love being right.

1 defeat in 24 league and play off games.

0 goals conceded in the last 6 league and play off games.

But we are now badly missing Beckford.

I think Ipswich will be our toughest game yet. Correct me if I'm wrong but I see them as we were last season in League 1. Solid at the back, hard to break down, and being the away team on Saturday might be happy to sit back for a bit? I'm hoping I'm wrong as we are so much better against teams who attack us.

How's sears getting on for you guys? Everytime he played against us for Colchester I thought he was a top player.

We've not had over 50% possession in any of our games yet (including Stevenage cup game), and realistically we should be looking at 4 wins (Brentford collapse was not good!). So we're not likely to go out and attack all game!

Sears has been brilliant, 11 in 26 (with a handful of the 26 being from bench) and has just signed a new 4 year deal. Bargain

Sounds very similar to how we were last season. That's why I think we may struggle on Saturday. Especailly if Beckford isn't fit.

Or it could turn into a dour 0-0 with either team committing men forward. Tbf I'd take a point now if offered.

Possession means very little. Ask Swindon fans 70% against us in the play off final without really ever testing us

We were last year too.

Yeah I know, I just don't get how anyone can make a definitive judgement on any team after three games.

It's because all the other teams are massive compared to us, therefore we must go down without a whimper.
It's the Championship Law you know.

I wouldn't call you relegation certs but imo you've got the most difficult of jobs to stay up, in other words, staying up would be more of an achievement than any other team in the division

I can't disagree Tom.
Last season, this season, next season if we stay up we will always be favourites for relegation.
It makes sense, we are the smallest club with the smallest stadium with the fewest resources.
The only way we can grow as a club is to stay in this league for a few seasons extend the stadium and encourage a new generation of fans to come and support the club.
It will be a struggle to do so but most of us accept the situation.
Let's be fair, there are so many teams on parachute payments or have super rich owners, that teams like ours will always be up against it.
The main problem for us is that a few years ago, these big time Charlie teams used to have to come to Millmoor. .
They didn't like it and we used to beat lots of teams because of it.
Now they arrive at a new stadium with good facilities and a less intimidating crowd.
Also the star footballers in these teams in general work harder so they are harder for us to beat.
TBF it's not much fun.
We don't win many games but when we do, it's a wonderful feeling to get 3 points.
On a personal note, it wouldn't bother me too much to go back to league 1.
The away trips are better, the fans are better, its cheaper and we are a largish fish in a much smaller pool.
But for Tony Stewart'so sake, he deserves more, so I hope he gets it.
