Likely to be our biggest gate of the season to date and a few years since we last met, so deserves a thread of it’s own. After our disappointing showing at Crewe and functional win at Oxford City in the Cup replay, hard to know what to expect. Ollie Banks and Norwood injury doubts, the former a shame if missing, as the kind of player who might like to make a point against a former club. Going for a draw though anything could happen...

I’d take a point if you offered it me now can see this being 2-1 either way a lot depends on how effective Tranmere are if banks and Norwood are missing . Norwoods having a massive season and all I hear from Tranmere fans is how good Ollie banks has been for you He wasn’t very good for us so maybe league two is his level.1350 tickets sold at our end and over 6000 Home tickets sold should be a good crowd and a cracking atmosphere

We've been unpredictable in the last few games... if we turn up, then all is good and I'd back us to win. If we don't, we'll probably score 3 and concede 5. Should be a good atmosphere if nothing else, even if Oldham fans have no idea what the right melody to "oh when the Blues" is. Always baffled me that.

We scored 4 in the last proper game Norwood was absent, so arguably Banks is the bigger loss, though both would be missed. Oldham fans don’t rate him, he can be frustrating and doesn’t always play the simple ball, but more positives than negatives for us. Wonder what the Spireites made of Ollie, he was there for a few years.
I don’t know that much about the current Oldham side, save Baxter and think Gardner was one of the few decent players Adams brought in during the relegation season, but picked up an injury. Sadly, I’ll be missing today but hope to do the return fixture.

Good game, chances at both ends and both teams can feel they should have won it, but probably a fair result. Just glad we didn't lose!

I thought it was a really good game between two decent teams. A midfield battle until the last twenty minutes, but still a feisty, enjoyable match. I think Oldham would be higher up the table if they had a more experienced manager than Bunn in charge.

Credit to the Oldham fans who did not stop singing all afternoon.

One of our more decent away performances. Thought we should have won that but would definitely have taken a point before the game. Thought we didn’t get the rub of the green with the officials and the police and the end of the game were a joke.

The police boxed us in on the road behind the away end. Didn't let us through until about half five. Was also a few fans arrested for daring to question the authority and the usual heavy handed tactics we always get from Merseyside police. Someone needs to remind them that it is Tranmere v Oldham and not the Belgrade derby.

Thought it was a pretty good game tbh. Think we probably shaded it but a draw was a fair result. I can see why Norwood has scored so many, lots of clever runs. He is also soft as shit and goes down when a defender farts within a 4 mile radius.

Yeah, I tried to go that way home and they wouldn't let us through. Had a chat with a few Oldham fans through the police barrier and it was all very calm, but yeah keeping you all there really wasn't necessary. Merseyside police are absolute angels compared to Cheshire police, don't get us started on them...

Decent enough game. Don’t think either side wanted to take any real risks and play an expansive game that may have left them open. Oldham fans did a great job on Banks who tried too hard and had his poorest game I’ve seen.

Norwood was clearly carrying a knock and didn’t harry the Oldham defence as much as we’d expect. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him rested both for Grimsby and the FA Cup on Sunday.

Sounds about right regarding the local coppers. But they don't just treat 'outsiders' like crap. I've only had one run in with the police in my entire life but it shook me up and still leaves a sour taste today. To put it briefly, i was accused of being a drug dealer because i happened to be standing on the corner of the very street in which i lived, at night, while texting on my phone, and i "matched the description" of some nearby no gooder. Then i was manhandled, pushed up against a wall and repeatedly told it would be quicker and easier to come clean.

Unfortunately, this and lots of other things that i've seen happen to others has majorly tainted my view of the police, how they operate and their motives.

Anyway, as for the game, i thought oldham looked a very able side and the second half was an enjoyable battle, after a pretty drab first 45. Decent atmosphere but could have been better if our crowd wasn't so strangely subdued.
