I think we'll win this one. Bristol Rovers have only beaten a poor Yeovil team and a Luton side struggling to gel with a lucky last minute winner. All we have to do keep Ellis Harrison quiet and that will completely nullify the threat. 2-0 Bees.
Not sure if you've gone fishing here or not!

Our win at Luton was in no way lucky, as the stats show. We dominated the entire game and our performance was outstanding, so much so the Luton fans clapped our players off the pitch after they celebrated with us at full time.

Before you guys played at The Mem last season, some of your fans were saying similar (that you'd win comfortably), but we went on to outplay you in the first half and in the second it was a 50/50 split. Our winner did come from nowhere that day, but we could easily have been 3-0 up before the surprising equaliser you scored, so underestimate us at your peril!

You have a decent team and I do think you'll go on to have a decent season but, like everybody else, I'm backing my team to win! :2thumb:

We ended going up in a more lucrative way with a Wembley day out so it wouldn't bother us, but Modeste wasn't why you went up. Would make more sense to lump together and sponsor Akinde shirt surely and then the money would go into your own club? I remember City sponsoring and sending presents to the bloke who scored to send us down and I thought that was cringey but I got it because we're actually rivals. Just struck me as tinpot.

You're a right barrel of fun you...

If you'd have held on at Dover, you'd have won the league. No doubt. So yeah, Modeste's goal was a key part of us winning the league.

Anyway, glad you had a big day out.

I wouldn't change it for the world... Bit of TV money and ticket sales to the club for the 3 play off games.. Last kick of the season boom happy days..

How comes it took until the 5th minute of injury time to score if you dominated Luton so much? I don't really care about last season's game, that was almost a year ago.I think Brizzle will be favourites given home advantage and it will be a close match. I just don't believe you have many goals in your squad so provided we can get Akinde in the game and get Gambin, (who was on fire on tuesday), Yiadom and Mclean around him we will create something.

Look at the stats TG has posted. We completely played them. In some games it takes longer than in others to get the winning goal you deserve and that has been the case for us in our last two fixtures. Have you never seen Barnet play really well and not get a goal until the last minute?

You don't get more points for scoring in the first half; a game lasts 90+ minutes, so it doesn't matter when you put the ball in the back of the net as long as you do!

You got one more point than us, you were the better team over the whole season. Modeste's goal had less to do with it than our poor start where we dropped more points than the two in that game.

As for taking Ellis out of the game stopping us, we are far, far less of a one man team than Barnet.

Your last home game didn't make for good viewing on the stat front.

You scored once from 15 shots at Luton. That shows that your threat up front isn't very clinical. You played against a poor Yeovil side and scored once against ten men. You may of outplayed them but the point was that your threat up front isn't great as you only scored once in each game.

The sponsorship of the Dover players shirt was just for a laugh. Some of you are just miserable.

Here comes the "your a one man team" brigade. They say it as if they watch us week in week out. We aren't a one man team but Akinde is just a great threat upfront.

I suspect it's the chip on both shoulders that helps keep the Barnet fans' views so balanced.

The Yeovil one was a bit of an anomaly, their keeper had an exceptional game, one of the best keeper performances in a number of years I've seen in person. Luton was just a good away performance.

Nothing to do with miserable, just pointing out to you that we wouldn't have done the same because quite frankly, we don't care about Barnet. Your fans decided it was worth raising money for a dig at us which landed no real impact.

The "one man brigade" was in reply to your fellow bee claiming we were in Ellis. Bizarre, seeing as he wasn't even top goal scorer last season. If that's us being a one man team then only fair the term is used back, right?

Oh yes, those ever reliable BBC stats.

I'm expecting a tough game and would be quite surprised if we didn't lose this one.

This will be my first game of the season but from what I've heard, we've played well for parts of most of our games so far but have lacked a cutting edge and missed chances when we've been on top. This cost us against Orient and Wycombe but we got away with it against Northampton, thanks to Akinde Pen, who is already proving to be prolific this season with 2 in 4.

It will be a well contested affair but I'm going for 2-0 Rovers.

Some of you bristol fans are like a bunch of hormonal women, it's a forum where a few are poking fun don't take it so personally.

You had a great end to your season and hopefully it will be a springboard for better things for us both.

Just take everything with a large pinch of salt as I do when I read things on the forums.

The Rovers forum is ridiculous :fl: I like how they try to say that they don't have a big club mentality while referring to us as tinpot and making comments about attendances... Deary me.

Thanks for wrecking Lutons day on Tuesday but you're still firmly in with them as clubs whose fan base outnumber the population of a small European country.

I'll take a 2-1 win with good old Akinde PEN scoring our two please :bdick:
Talking about running jokes; urban joining the forum in the 2nd half of last season. Belters such as "season over" they were 2 points clear at the time. Berating Mad dog at any opportunity despite him undoubtedly manager of the year...... Hope your outlooks a little more positive this season.

Easy win for Barnet I think. 3-1. No disrespect but we really need to be beating the poorer teams like Rovers if we are going to finish top half.

My god this is probably the worst match thread yet.
Both sides are doing pretty well with 2 wins in four games since the season started, but also both sides have done poorly in taking their opportunities based on the evidence available.

First half at orient their commentators were saying Orient were fortunate to be level, Millwall was very one sided to us but we didn't put away the chances, Wycombe Akinde had two 1 on 1s and unusally missed both. Northampton balanced game until Gambin came on and was unplayable.
Sounds like Rovers deserved their Luton win but came very close to not getting the reward. I think it will be a reasonably entertaining game with few goals.

Your last home game didn't make for good viewing on the stat front.

Press them and they've got nothing. They'll hoof it and lose it, especially to your centre halves. Rather easy day for us.

Our game against you was even until the pen and red card, so on the balance I was more impressed with you lot than Rovers. A massive brute in Akinde and a tricky little bastard in Gambin I think will cause Rovers problems.

If he hadn't equalised you'd have gone top. Your poor start was made up by our wobble in Feb/March.

I won't post anymore about Barnet or any fan rivalry, I will say we were absolutely terrible against Northampton, a true off day. I wouldn't take that as a sign of how good or bad we are. As DC said yesterday, there are ways of losing and we lost really badly against Northampton, if we lose against Barnet it doesn't matter as much as long as we don't lose as badly as we did against Northampton.

Well first of all, everyone had to join halfway through last season as this site didn't even exist previous to that.

I'm not going to go into my thoughts regarding our colossal collapse last season as I've done so many times before now and its no longer relevant.

So pretty much you've just made an inane and pointless post about me there, but please continue to try to make me look like an idiot, you might get there one day. Hopefully you'll have sold your ground by then :bdick:

Quote from Barnet forum!
I look at their squad and doesn't look good. A lot of conference standard players, how that Sinclair is playing football league is beyond me. They'll struggle for goals this season and when the defence starts to leak they'll be in trouble. They got stuffed at home to Northampton and we beat them, I think we'll win 3-1

Would love too know who this is! Stuart Sinclair would walk in your team any day off the week

To be fair the Barnet forum is awful. About 5/6 posters who post shit like that all the time without actually having a clue. I wouldn't take that quote as gospel from all Barnet fans, Sinclair is a good player (although walking into our team may be a little strong)
