This sort of shambles of an appointment is just par for the course down at the circus.
How Lowe can you go?

Another odd post from you. Don't seem to remember you lot being so obsessed with us last time I frequented this forum. Bless, you must have missed your big brothers :69:

Not sure which previous managerial appointment processes we've had which have been shambolic, imo they actually appear to be part of a thorough and professional process in which we've targeted a specific kind of manager and got them the last few times.

The hold up this time is clearly from the Bury end due to all the tragic ongoings there.

It's not been confirmed Barney! When I've read posts even Plymouth fans are saying that they haven't got a manager yet pal

Well I've seen a text Ryan sent confirming it !!!!!

Not me that has sent the text but the lad isn't a bullshit merchant.
Good luck Ryan and you Janners have a gem as your new manager.
Confirmed this week?

Nicky Adams confirmed, Local MP saying almost certain still desperately seeking paddle
Nicky had a contract triggered and EFL rejected it, nobody at Bury FC bothered to tell either Nicky or Ryan about it until 1 week after the season ended, if you were either of them would you stay?
Good luck Nicky, Ryan and Schuey.

It will be interesting to see how Lowe fares at Plymouth. It’s away from his geographical comfort zone and expectations will be higher than at Bury. Presumably will have one of the bigger budgets in L2. He tries to get his team playing decent football and seems tactically aware, but get the feeling it will not all be plain sailing next season.

If Bury's season was anything to go by, they'll have a top end attack but a mid-table defence.

I'll take attacking football. Derek Adams was successful (until last season) but the football was soooo boring. Last season in particular we were so rigid in our tactics. Quite excited by his appointment actually.

Last season we had a top half L1 attack and bottom half L2 defence. So it could be interesting for sure.

Excited by the appointment.

Lowe does not do defence, strap yourselves in boys you are in for a great season.
Able to change things mid game, attack will be prioritised.
You have a gem, look after him.

Delighted with the appointment. Much needed after 4 years of pragmatic, perhaps effective, but ultimately very boring football under Adams. Well done the board for pursuing and getting their 1st choice.

Hope Bury pull through!

Now that I have come to terms with league 2 football I’m looking forward to seeing how Ryan Lowe goes about his business. It’s an exciting appointment and we all love to see attractive, attacking football. Ultimately he will be judged on results. It probably won’t click straight away and we may have to be a bit patient as he puts across his ideas and philosophies but I’m feeling quietly optimistic.

Mass exodus of players from Bury. Adams to Northampton already a done deal. Mayor to Ipswich, O’Connell to Coventry, 0’Shea emigrating to play in Australia. Maynard and Thompson to Plymouth. Plenty of others along with all the backroom staff moving down south.

Sadly, I think it’s a good appointment for Argyle. They may take a while to gel as a unit considering he’s coming in to a new club only a couple of weeks before pre season training, but he did wonders at Bury and you’d imagine he’s going to get a solid budget to work with.

A lot will hinge on keeping Carey and Ladapo but they’ll be a threat next season.

First public meeting with the fans tonight. Certainly knows how to get the fans excited.

Reckons Ryan Taylor will bag 20 this season, we’ve got a load of young lads who are gems who’ll be making an impact this season, Danny Mayor is better than Graham Carey and Ruben Lamieras (a very big statement to make), and that fans can watch training sessions whenever they like if the gates are open.

Certainly talks the talk..

I saw those tweets too. Such bullish talk from the manager are fairly rare nowadays. Bury fans did last year Lowe make strong predictions at the outset?

I like Ryan Taylor from when we had him on loan years ago, but isn’t he often injured? Always had him down as a capable 10-15 goal type that is quite unselfish?

Not really, he’s only scored 9 goals in 72 for us. He’s also now 31, and he was injured for most of last season. His ankles are made of glass. Personally I hope Ryan Lowe isn’t put all of his hope on Ryan Taylor

I dont rememeber him making any statements like that but we had come off a truly awful season in league 1 and tbh most of us were hoping we'd still have a club and happy for a mid-table/top half finish - we got off a dodgy start and tbh we got lucky with being able sign Maynard when we did.

I'm expecting him to be a decent manager for Plymouth, but I'm hoping it takes a while and we give them a good thumping in the derby's this season. They are probably looking for instant success, and getting Mayor was impressive, but look a bit light to me unless they get a few more in
