Neale Marmon will no longer be our manager after Saturday. He was only ever caretaker after we (finally) got rid of the shitshow that was Darren Way. Who we get next is anyone's guess as Marmon is to become Sporting Director under the new American owner.

Sounds like a job right up Steve Davis' street.

Has anyone else heard the Waddock to Sutton rumour?

Should have gone after we drew with Maidenhead on New Year’s Day.

Pretty much the only game we played last season in which Ryan Bird looked sort of competent, so definitely a sackable offence for the opposition manager.

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Nice guy, some great seasons, but lost the plot, and tactically stubborn.
Opens the door for someone with experience of part-time players.

Have the club confirmed whether you will be going part-time?

Mental how poorly he did this season compared to last.

And he's got stupid hair for a man his age.

You should of gone all out to get Doswell before he went to Havant.

Nothing from the boardroom, other than the usual vague stuff. Fact is, this year’s budget was inadequate, for a pretty thin squad; inevitable reduced income next season. I can’t see any other sensible option.

Couldn't disagree more. He had the largest budget since we were in administration - the board ploughed an additional 300k plus into the budget and it still wasn't enough for him. The problem with Waddock is his only way of playing is passing, attacking football on the deck, but the players at this level aren't on the whole good enough to do that. So the type of player he needs is more expensive than those required by our rival clubs. He took the decision to risk Osborne's injury record, he took the decision to re-sign James Rowe when he could have waited to see what became available later on. Overall the recruitment was not good enough and was the reason we went down.

That said, I am incredibly sad it has ended this way after what Waddock has done for us previously, and I genuinely wish him all the best for the future.

Wouldnt be surprised if Jay Saunders applies for the Aldershot job.

Waddock will always be an Aldershot legend for what he’s achieved with us, but quite simply he had to go, this season has been a shambles. He’s completely lost touch with the fans - he used to come over after every single game and acknowledge us, but hasn’t done so for a good 6 months. He looked a beaten man in the last few months and we really needed a change of blood and some new energy.
Not sure who I want to take over, maybe Daryl McMahon? Or that bloke from Wealdstone?

We can all throw some names out but the reality of it is, whoever is in charge has to answer to our clown of a chairman. Until he is gone, don't expect much.

I guess you need the Gateshead situation resolved quickly one way or the other. If you start planning and recruiting for NLS and then get a late reprieve you will be totally unprepared for the NL and will likely end up down anyway just a year later.

Surprised Waddock wasn't sacked months ago, tbh. Seemed inevitable from before Xmas.
