What I enjoyed the other week was when Udoh and some other prick for Shrewsbury were celebrating and goading our fans (idiots with very little brain cells between them), Benning shook his head, pulled them away and gave them both a right bollocking. They looked like naughty school kids....they have that mental capacity anyway.

It's a really stupid idea in front of out fans, as they're a volatile bunch. Someone could easily jump over and lamp them. They're not very bright are footballers.

Wasn’t a pretty second half, but a good 3 points which should all but see us safe from the drop as results went for us again. Only negative today was that we missed far too many ‘easy’ chances and it should have been more comfortable in the end.

9 points clear of Cheltenham having played two games extra. Looking at their fixtures, I don’t see them catching us. Time to crack open a nice bottle of red and celebrate not having to go to the likes of Salford, Harrogate, Crawley, Accrington, etc.

Watched the Lincoln highlights to see Taylor’s hat trick, we could do with him at the moment with our injuries!

His second goal (and even his first!) id be furious if I was a Bristol Rovers fan, he’s 5’7 and he’s beat two defenders to winning the header!

He's 'dinked' a goal three games in a row now I think, it's becoming a trademark finish - it's also what he should have done with his chances against Posh and Derby.

Even Sorenson loves a bit now as well and he's the most placid one! I must say though, it's right on the edge for me at times. I'm all for a bit of shithousery, gamesmanship and getting under people's skin to gain an advantage but it can't half slap you in the face if you're not careful. It almost feels at odds with Skubala's personality as well.

I know you only see most teams once or twice a season, but the league table doesn't lie in Carlisle's case, worst i've seen this year (excluding us in some games). Saying that, as you say, the chance at the end of the first half should have been stuck away, but without seeing it back he looked miles offside at the time. Assuming that the other chance you refer to was the free header in the 2nd half?

For Shrewsbury it's just been a case of getting to the end of the season still a league 1 club and then forget about this season.

Don't get why footballers do it either. At least Udoh ended up "naturally" behind the goal the way he scored last week, but no point goading the home fans.

Sam Smith did it at Shrewsbury this season. We had him on loan a few years back, don't think he scored for us ina pretty unremarkable spell. Scored for Reading and proceeded to run to our family stand sushing

They were good chances but not the best. Did you miss Taylor Perry running through on goal in the first half and Sobowale through on goal at the end in the second half? Both better chances than the two you’re referring to.

Taylor was giving it to the family area of the Hamil end when he scored against us the other day, at first I thought "idiot doesn't he know we've swapped away ends" seemed really bizarre at the time. I get it if hes been getting stick by all means give it back but don't see the point giving it large to kids and families 90 seconds into a game!

However I do agree that what he has been doing is foolish and pointless and I do not like seeing it. As others have said I can understand as a player if you have had stick in the past or trying to make a point for that kind of reason, but to just wind opposing fans up for nothing is a bit strange.

He might be on loan from a Premier League club but at this moment in time he's not deemed good enough for them, so he's a 3rd division player. Wish we had him like!

There's one or two in this division who think they're better than they are (I'm looking at you Dion Charles). If I was a professional footballer but only good enough to ply my trade at the 3rd tier, I don't think I'd be bragging about it. it doesn't matter. we were probably better than shrewsbury and lost, lincoln literally didn't create a meaningful chance against us and we conceded twice and lost. Oxford comfortably better and we lost.

We are due a draw every 3-4 games when we get a bit of good fortune but otherwise, just hope you get a couple of corners and the 3 points are yours.

Not even close to true. There's 68 professional clubs in the top 3 tiers in England. Say each of them has 30 pros playing regularly (probably more in the prem amd fewer in some L1 teams). That's about 2000 players at that level. And don't forget how many of the players aren't British, so if you're a british player who's playing regularly in the 3rd tier, you're among the top few hundred british pros. I think that's something to shout about. In your restaurant comparison, a 3rd tier player is not far from being a Michelin star chef, given there are 206 starred restaurants in the UK.

It depends on how much you idolise footballers. Yes, they've done well to become a professional footballer but they're still ultimately nowhere near the top level. There are other professions which require infinitely more skill and professions where there are only a handful of people can do it but they don't brag about it.

In my view, unless you're the very best at your profession, there's nothing to brag about. I used to play at school with a footballer who played at league 1 level, he wasn't even that good but instead of going out on the piss, he dedicated his life to football. I know far more talented individuals who weren't willing to make that sacrifice.

To me, there are much more difficult sports than football. And to brag about being a 3rd tier professional is not really something to crow about. Some of the players in our league can barely kick it straight.

I can never understand the idolisation of someone who can kick a bag of air around quite well.

I think you'll find you're way off the mark. All the lads you know who "could've been pro if I hadn't loved going out on the piss so much" are delusional. The difference between an average Sunday league clogger and even a National League player is absolute miles. I've seen it in 5-a-side or Sunday league when former semi-pro players run rings around the casual players. Even when their legs have gone, their touch, vision and intelligence is way beyond what you'd be able to do.
