We'll be BACK
I think you will in the next couple of seasons. A good manager and healthy budget go a long way in league two.

When we played you earlier in the season, I actually didn't think you were that bad. You played too much through Moxon, who I thought was a bit of a style over substance player and is one of those players that plays for himself. You also lacked a goalscorer, but I thought you'd address it in the transfer window. Rest of the team looked fairly steady.

Of course, we lost to you on new years day....obviously. I'm just amazed you haven't picked up more scabby wins, especially at home.

With a bit of luck you'll be there on Tuesday night.

I'm not expecting us to beat Carlisle mind. I just don't know if we can get ahead and they'll play without any shackles on now.

I'm not big on stats, but our XG being higher than Orient's today shows exactly where our problems lie. I pray Matt Taylor is back soon.

I can imagine he will rise like Lazarus for Saturday as he loves the attention (although he never plays well against us with fans in the ground)
Mike Duff was at our game today, have you got him back as a scout? :bg:

Blatant dive, agree he should be banned for that.
It must be a benefit for players at bigger clubs. Aaron Collins used to get nothing with his dives for us. Today the ref may have well been deep throating him

I'm relieved we've won that without playing too well. Shrewsbury were utter dogshit until they scored and seemed to get some confidence out of that. The penalty decision is ludicrous, the foul on Anjorin on Tuesday was much worse and yet no penalty was given, such is the inconsistency of the refs in this league.

Second half we huffed and puffed and one moment of quality made the game safe, There were a couple of times we almost gifted Shrewsbury a goal but otherwise they were poor, but not as bad as some teams I've seen this season.

Get me to Bolton, I'd love to invade their pitch if we won and confirmed promotion!
You wont be invading the pitch at Bolton unless you have a magic carpet. Historically we have given the full stand behind the goal both lower and upper to away fans 5,500 away tickets. Now you only get the upper tier and that is why you only get just over 2k tickets now.

Wrong. Loads of us have tickets in the lower tier, including me. The allocation was half in the lower, half in the upper.

If we beat you on your own turf on Saturday, we will be invading your pitch and there'll be fuck all you can do about it.

Great result and performance to beat Barnsley. 11 unbeaten now under Jones and if I wasn't sure before that all but confirms us staying up. Alfie May was untouchable today, gave the Barnsley defence a really tough time and was very unlucky not to get a hattrick. I think we have shown under Jones we can be good enough for the playoffs, just hope that is the case next season.

Not much more to add other than to remind everyone that Alfie May cost £250k.

I would imagine Portsmouth will have the resources to give it a proper shot at the next level, although I would have said the same about Sheff Wed and look how that one panned out.
Sheff wed owners sacked Darren Moore and alot behind the scenes not helped. At least we have continuity

Definitely a "soft" pen. But the Anjorin one on Tuesday wasn't given for us. No consistency in the refs. Derby gk handled the ball outside the area and didn't even get booked? So many bad decisions. Still think we'd have had enough to get over the line, but it's rubbish that big decisions the refs are getting wrong week in and week out.

Enjoyable win in a half-decent game. Cheltenham gave it a go second half after a terrible opening 45, but I never felt anything other than comfortable to be honest. Season long over for us but good to see that we’re still trying to play good, attacking football despite all the injuries. Bodes well for next season.

Fleetwood, Derby and Shrewsbury to come so there’s a chance we’ll have plenty of influence over the final few weeks.

Portsmouth must have had the most penalties this season seems they get one in pretty much every home game.

Yep, they've had 12. I think it's probably a mix of the fact that they're one of the better teams in the league and so can find themselves in the opposition box more often, the fact that they're one of the bigger clubs (most of the bigger clubs are in the top 10 in terms of penalties awarded), they have 2 or 3 players that go down quite easily, and as is the case with most successful teams, they know how to pressure the ref. Wish we did the latter 2 much more. 5-7 extra cheap goals would make a huge difference to our position.

Yes, we've had plenty. It's mainly due to having some tricky players (Kamara, Yengi) who regularly get into the box and will definitely try to capitalise on any rash challenges, to put it diplomatically. It also helps being at the top and in front of a big crowd, absolutely.

Refs are human and can be influenced - we've definitely played on that at times.

I'm expecting a massive drop off next season (if we go up), when we're playing against bigger clubs with larger followings.

Decent point but missed some great chances, especially Dipepa's and felt Smith should do better with his ability in the air with the late header wide.

Win that and I would be confident of staying up, that said, decent point, good day with other results and out the drop zone for now which seemed unthinkable 2 weeks back.

On the subject of penalties, we've only had one given against us this season.

Can't recall too many either. There was the one that Wycombe missed.
We've only scored one all season.

The miss from Brovers?
Yeah that's the only one. It doesn't feel as though we've had many either, maybe two or three (away at Cambridge and Vale are the only two I can remember).

Mind you, we spent half the season not being able to get into the final third of the pitch.
