Always knew we were going to lose that one with Southend's form and our injuries.

Anyone in a terrible run of form home or away? Just wait until you play us.

Frustrating. We absolutely battered Colchester, had countless chances but went to sleep once were punished and should of been out of sight.

Got to be more clinical there as that’s two points thrown away.

The straw that broke the camel's back for me. I was prepared to back David Dunn and I had confidence that we weren't far away from turning it around but that just seeps away with every game. His record here and throughout his short managerial career just proves he isn't a manager. 2 wins from 20 odd games here and 7 from 50ish overall.

Survival was the reasonable expectation this year but to do that you need to be difficult to beat, which we just aren't. It doesn't matter that we've scored twice, because we will concede 4. He's a likeable guy and I do feel sorry for him but the more the season progresses it proves that he's just not cut out for management.

I think it's time for our board to take stock and get someone in that's got experience at this level, which should have been done after Evatt left. I fear that if we get relegated we will never get back. There's a reason we spent 50 years in non-league and that's because opportunities don't come around like this very often for clubs like us.

Don't sweat, you play us on Tuesday.

You're in terrible form and can't seem to keep the ball out of the net. It's a guaranteed 1-0 victory.

Would have taken the point before the game, but sounds like we absolutely battered them.

That being said, if you don't take your chances, you can't moan too much.

Tough game on Tuesday against the champions elect. How will our players cope going up against a club the size and stature of Bolton??

History suggests we are the ones to get teams going.

We ain't going to keep Watters....sigh.

Didn't think either pen really was but not at the best angle. The sending off used to be called a good hard tackle.

I think we shaded it but Barrow could have got a draw from that. I think both keepers only made one save each.

So good to be back.

This season is going to be a long old slog for us.

We've finally got the team gelling and looking good after countless injuries and we suddenly gain loads more injuries. Just can't seem a catch a break this season.

A poor performance from Mansfield today, with a point probably about right, Grimsby were also poor to be honest.

Both penalties were correct - red card hard to call, but he was on a yellow through his own softness and shouldn't have thrown himself in that far up the pitch.

Feel bad for Tranmere to be honest. Absolutely mullered today.

No need to feel sorry for us. Pretty much a faultless performance from Exeter. We gave the ball away far too cheaply in the first half and got punished accordingly. Tactically starting with Woolery on his own up top backfired. Bowman’s first goal was real quality.
Bring back the diamond!

Close game, think a draw would've been fair but glad we clinched the win.
If only your beloved Boris had gotten as close to his 20,000 dead from Covid-19 prediction we wouldnt be living through all this crap right now. Never mind though. At least all his parties friends have made a nice £1•5bn blood money out of it. Swings and roundabouts.

Agree, can't see how he'll turn it around - but again, it isn't really his fault that Brown throws himself into an unnecessary challenge or Platt cleans up the man instead of the ball.

Where he can be blamed is definitely recruitment - not getting in more midfielders is a massive oversight that has ruined us.

Nice to see Ryan and Matty both ahead of the great Eoin Doyle on the top goal scorers list.

Christ that was easy. I don’t even think our defenders got their kits dirty.

Stevenage really poor but we suffocated them and didn’t allow them to hardly pass the ball forward.

The danger is that as bad as your form is, you're easily a better team than Southend, Stevenage or Bradford. Just can't see two of those finishing above you, unless a change of manager goes horribly wrong.

I think k you're being a tad harsh on the manager here.

There is definetly a step up and some good players don't seem to be able to make it.

Dig in, survive and get a good recruitment system going. You really ain't that far away from a "decent " league two side.

We have decent forwards. We can score against anyone really. 4 against Tranmere, 3 against Mansfield etc so cut your defence a little slack today. Tactics wise thought Quigly played too deep and when you went ahead you seemed to get a nose bleed but honestly, you ain't that far away from it.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

Did I say you ain't to far away too many times?

These are similar comments after every game we've played more or less, but the end result is always the same.

Re Barrow, I think they have enough in their squad to stay up, but I thought in the summer they should have gone for an experienced football league manager and I still think that’s the case.

I think they might have to sack Dunn and get someone in who has the know how to make sure they stay up. I expect Bradford will sort themselves out in January, Stevenage look poor but up until today don’t concede many goals. Barrow need to make sure they don’t fuck this football league return up at the first hurdle and I think sadly that means making a strong decision on Dunn.

Not with him. Masi51 might be annoying but he is far more tolerable than Devon Lad. I remember his previous posts. We were well beaten and i acknowledge that fact but he is and always will be a vile person.

A big scalp for us that, we've not beaten many of the better sides in this league since we came back so to get this one in over the leaders is big for this group of players.

Newport are a good side, their midfield three are mobile and all good on the ball and in the first half after they scored they could've easily added 2 or 3 more and the game would've been up. Once you fall behind to Newport, they really slow the game down and the ball ends up in touch alot more, but they have the quality to instantly open teams up. We missed good chances ourselves before Newport took the lead with their first chance - Good sides take their chances.

Second half however I thought they ran out of steam, they didn't create a single chance or have a shot of note. Once we managed to score it got the team and the crowd up and James Brophy managed to capitalise on a half chance to give us the lead - we had chances to make it safe as well.

Draw would've been about right, but for once we've managed to capitalise on a strong second half when the opposition run out of steam.

Ref I thought was a bit iffy, made some odd decisions for both sides.

1,700 in attendance including myself, making the most of being able to attend a game before its back to BCD next week.
