We are dog shit, but at least we don't crowd around the ref every time one of our players slips during a tackle. The pitch is as bad as our team, but we get on with it; Southend played the ref when ever they could. Hope my team never stoops to that level.

We've not won in 6 yet are somehow still only 3 points off the top of the table.

This division is crazy this season.

Aye if any team was going to win it was going to be FGR. Cadden always looks quality and that lad Richardson has some serious speed. Does seem to be a bit too much side to side play with FGR though when sometimes it’s better just to go direct but that’s just from what I’ve seen.

Positives for us Conlon was very good and becoming a top midfielder at this level. Jake came and in did well so that partnership with Conlon will be more than decent moving forward. Defensively we were dogged at least and Rodney with his improvement is showing that 3 year deal was a smart investment.

Not much to judge Guthrie on although seems to have a nice leap and won a few headers. Once Worrall is back that could be something to exploit.

Yep pretty much spot on. We move it from side to side a lot but don't make enough incisive runs or play the early ball. Teams can always get set while we build up.

Cadden is quality, you can guarantee he'll get a ton of decent crosses in week in week out, must be one the most attacking full backs in the division. If only we could get someone across the near post more often.

Was impressed by Rodney again and as you say Conlon looked good in the middle, calm presence a lot went through him.

Squeeked a win against Morecambe with two late goals, we did ride our luck with Yann Sanogo missing a very guilt edged chance for Morecambe early in the second half.

Morecambe again were very difficult to break down and they're a threat on the counter with Mendez-Gomes, Lawrence Vigouroux made a very smart save to deny him.

We had around 70% possession but most of our chances were half chances up until stoppage time when Lee Angol finally buried his first goal of the season. Our first goal had a bit of luck about it when Knight-Percivial flicked a teasing cross into his own net under pressure.

Morecambe ran out of steam by the end and we managed to grind them down and squeek a win - A draw would've been a fair result IMO, but we managed to find a way to win again which is pleasing because last season we didn't quite have that nous about us.

Forest Green at home next week, big game for us if we want to push on further we need to get something against the best sides.

Also Danny Johnson not in the squad for us today, according to Embleton he has an anke injury and will miss the next few weeks.

A few people suggesting he is off to Charlton, we shall see.

Relief. Would quite happily take shit 1-0s to the end of the season, especially when we've had decent games and lost/conceded in the last minute.

Happy enough with an away point at Col U, considering they actually boast a very good home record. I thought the two sides gave it a good go on an awful pitch and a draw was the fair result in the end, though we could've won it right at the death but that would've been harsh on a decent Col U side.

We're still 3rd but what's more important afaic is that it's looking increasingly likely that the CUFC league trophy will be heading to the Abbey this season. Again. We just need to take a point off Carlisle in our final match (and tbf, that really shouldn't be that tough as we haven't lost there in 20 years plus) and it's job done for another year.

God, that was tedious. We looked really exciting under our caretaker manager, but Keith Hill has turned us into pure beige. Lots of posession, no creativity, no chances. 0-0.

Confirmed this morning.....proberbly looking at him with a view of signing him
Is he contracted beyond June ?
I think until summer 2022, I don't think we're currently looking to shift him.

Yet another late goal conceded, we might not have played that well today but fuck me this is getting ridiculous. Every other game it happens
played well you got to be joking...if it would have ended 4/5-1 ....................you ventured in our half twice in 45 mins yet your deluded thought process is that you was unlucky

It's Fenty, to save money, why else?
We should never have flattened the pitch, those penalty spot rises helped to drain the pitch and gave us an advantage at corners and attacking free kicks.

PS. I have sat on both of those penalty spots. I walked onto the pitch after beating Exeter to gain promotion back in 'God knows when' and calmly ambled from the Pontoon onto the hallowed turf, had a chat with a Police Sergeant explaining it was a childhood ambition to sit on the aforementioned spots and we walked together to ensure I could do so without any interference. Happy days!

Decent point today basically scoring with a rare attack. Forest Green were the better side but didn't have too many chances and probably needed that 2nd goal to kill the game. We didn't really play well just defended ok and tried which is an improvement on what we were doing in the final weeks under askey. I personally think rodney is better on the wing so I'd like see him left wing worrall right wing and Guthrie down the centre unless we decide play 442.

Montano missed the game due to Covid, asymptomatic apparently which is good but have to see how the testing goes this week.

If Grimsby and Southend even slightly get their act together they can stay up at a canter because us and Barrow are Northern Premier quality
I really don’t think you realise just how bad we are too.

I do, you've won one game in the past two months and it was obviously against us. You were terrible that day but it was okay because we were even worse. You'll obviously beat us next weekend and get Hurst's first win back and we'll struggle to win another one this season

I thought we battled very well, limited FGR to few chances, almost all were set pieces and we missed Legges height. Goal was a poor one, no one dealt with it although the FK was taken off the place the offence seemed to happen which gave more room to bend it in. Hurst was silly giving it away but we should deal with that ball in.

Goal got us going and we started probing without creating much.

Second half a weird incident gave FGR a chance when a long ball in from a free kick looked meat and drink for Brown to catch it but it clipped the bar, Brown recovered to save from point blank range and smother the ball. Then their sub was at us and caused us probably the only real problem from open play but Brown saved well... probably his only real save of note.

Rodney now our wide caused problems and an excellent finish bending it in from 22 yards, thought it had gone wide and hit the stancheon to be honest until I saw it rippled the net the opposite side as it flew in off the inside of the post.

Then we defended fairly solidly and comfortably saw out a point. Progress is obvious, under the pressure late on we would have conceded a few weeks back with another late defeat but dealt with it and game managed it.

Some fans are furious about the game and performance but not sure why? It was a solid away point at one the top sides in the league.

First time I’ve had away commentary on, some strange comments regarding our formation change which wasn’t one and extremely bias, getting a right slating but Vale fans but I thought they were ok. Pointed out the main difference was confidence due to the run we had been on and can’t argue with that.

Happy with the point though, especially with injuries and covid seeing us lose some big players again.

Conlon is different gravy, really coming on well and really hoping we don’t lose him in January, hopefully the captaincy helps keep him here, the touch early on to set himself for a long range effort was exquisite.

Guthrie did well, got himself about more than Theo had all season, nearly put their bloke in the stands with his first touch and need that unsettling physical presence as an option with Pope out.

Rodney was poor up front but turned the game when he was moved out wide, had our only other real chance as well as the goal.

Thought Brisley and Fitz were solid and Taylor did ok.

Positives to take. Three games that are very winnable now and need to push on, does well in those three then I think Pugh will be in charge until the summer at least.

Why did Vale get our BBC commentary? Didn't think they were overly biased, have heard worse.

Read what I wrote and try again mate, I said we didn't play well.

Massive Bolton could only draw against little old Cheltenham, cry some more.

Cant travel during lockdown and they usually run it from a studio but didn’t have the space with the Lardies playing

Ah ok fair enough.

Think some credit should go to Vale's defence, Fitzpatrick did well as we have a lot of pace down our right, and Smith and Brisley handled Matt fairly comfortably.

Thought we got a bit lucky not to give away a back pass first half, looked a bit iffy on the stream. Hopefully we can get Cargill bedded in fairly quickly as he looked shaky, and get a bit more creativity in midfield at Tranmere. Either start Bailey as a 10 or give Hutchinson a go alongside Adams plus one of JMT and Sweeney.

Your winger is excellent; was really impressed at VP with him, Cadden.

We seem to be getting better defensively, did well against Sunderland considering we parked the bus like they were Man City!

I think it says something when I'm embarrassed that we couldn't get a win over Bolton this season. Our form has dropped off a cliff since putting 5 past Exeter, and there appears to be no rhyme or reason for it.
