Positives to take in the end, notably from injured players coming back, but still too many deficiencies from last season’s home games under Maynard still there.

Tsaroulla does look a player.

Fair play to them having 8 shots (2 more than you managed) in a second half where they had 22% possession then if that wasn’t happening.

The stats you can find online for games at our level are completely useless. Not a chance Fleetwood had eight shots in the entire game - the five the BBC have for the 90 mins feels about right, and two or three of those came in the same move (well, hoof) that they eventually scored their second goal from.

Fleetwood certainly under the cosh for periods of this game so all things being equal, Inc that penalty I thought a draw was a fair result. County good side, played some strong attacking football and that called for plenty of stout defending from our lads. I hope Robertson does ok for you, he came to us from Celtic on the back of Scott Browns wish. Tbh he never did anything and struggled for too many games. Perhaps dropping down a division will give him some confidence back, only time will tell
Have a good season you County lads, if we can keep pace with you that will mean a top 10 finish...or more !

I watched the game and did think County quite fortunate to get a draw. Fleetwood were cruising to a professional and reasonably comfortable away win until the penalty which I felt was quite soft. Tsaroulla stepped across the front of his man and sought the contact, realising he was going nowhere. County had a lot of possession but I thought Fleetwood were quite happy to let them have it really.

My thoughts were very similar

Robertson is a really good player, was excellent for us last season. We need to get him fit.

I think you’ll do pretty well, will be tough to beat and physical. Tackle on Jones was a very poor one mind, think he was a bit lucky that was only a yellow.

I thought we’d blown it not scoring in that ten minute spell where we had them pinned right back and kept flashing the ball across the face of goal with no one quite getting a final touch. Definitely did enough in the final half an hour to warrant at least a point though IMO - Fleetwood did defend well, but if you let a team into your box that many times something is going to fall their way eventually.

I thought he was looking for the contact too, a little soft but when he let him get wrong side often happens.

Fleetwood defended very well, needed to, and had a bit of luck with some last ditch efforts and blocks.

Me and you are going to get on I can already tell. Did you post on the other site under a different name back in the dark days?
No, he is an AI chatbot that came with the current Notts owners and is exclusive to TFF.

Deserved a point in the end if not three despite all the stats saying we should have won comfortably.
Fleetwood keeper MOTM.
Jones is wasted on the right, poor old Cedwyn Scott lost on the left in a position he'll be lucky to score two goals a season from.
Maynard could do with another striking option but compared to clubs like Accrington and Morecambe has an embarrassment of riches and is underachieving. He'll be gone in September if he persists with wasting Jones, play in Scott in no mans land and not giving Jatta much service.

I think we were more than value for the draw but in some ways we benefitted from the second coming quite early and Fleetwood sitting back from there. Very, very soft pen from my angle.

Fleetwood looked well drilled but assuming they're going to set up like that 3 or 4 times over the season it's hard to know off that if they'll be successful.

Scott on the left was an abomination (made worse by Chicksen being behind him and offering nothing other than turning back and passing to Bedeau every single time) but not sure this agenda about Jones on the right being some tactical war crime can persist when he’s objectively just been our biggest threat for 90 entire minutes playing almost exclusively there - also don’t think it was a coincidence he became more of a threat when Tsaroulla came on and gave us more balance and width.

It is almost impossible to have balance when Chicksen plays.

Agree about Scott was poor and probably due to where he played. Still not convinced he's good enough to start more centrally.

Lovely play from McGoldrick for the goal, just what we needed and what Scott doesn't offer from the same area of the field.

Oh and little service (I blame JJ for that more than anybody) for my Gambian Prince but again he scores. Impressive since arriving.

I expect once we get some midfield reinforcement Crowley will take up Scott's current position. We cannot be tortured all season with that and it won't do him any good. Definitely best as a forward Scott

Jones played well but on 74- 76 minutes when he was on the left he whipped in a couple of early crosses and Fleetwood were rattled. Much quicker build up, no extra touches needed to cut inside. Just more dangerous on the left.

I agree. He’s good enough that he’ll be a threat wherever, and he’ll score more of his own goals from the right, but that early, low cross he has through the six yard box without even needing to properly beat a man from the left is pretty much impossible to defend against. It got about 15 assists on its own last season, you’ve got to just hammer away at a special move like that.

I thought Macari was outstanding again, in a different position. He’s a really promising footballer, will be our next who’s being linked with a big move in a few months’ time.
